The Announcement That The Game Of Thrones Creators Are Making A Show About If Slavery Still Existed Was Rightfully Destroyed

Game Of Thrones’ Slave Show Gets Killed You know how much we love Game of Thrones even though they don’t have any black folks in it? Well, now we know why it’s probably best they left us the hell alone. The creators of the show, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, are coming up with a new show for HBO called Confederate. The show is about if slavery never ended. For real. https://twitter.com/rembert/status/887796862106861568 So naturally, this is getting dragged through the dirt and rightfully so. So the folks can come up with a mythical world of dragons and time travelers for white folks but black folks get…slavery. So yeah. SMH. https://twitter.com/fivefifths/status/887854713953284096 https://twitter.com/emteehall/status/887824901083602944 https://twitter.com/SaintofSnark/status/887795816085303297 https://twitter.com/SonofBaldwin/status/888005879815176193 https://twitter.com/ziwe/status/887788343387402241 https://twitter.com/rgay/status/887798204703559680 https://twitter.com/pilotbacon/status/887780993687576578 https://twitter.com/aminatou/status/887783431609999360 https://twitter.com/Steph_I_Will/status/887797555408637952 https://twitter.com/GodSon83/status/887792210791596037 https://twitter.com/JamilahLemieux/status/887795436706287618 https://twitter.com/ira/status/887857020958760961 https://twitter.com/jumpedforjoi/status/887798495519940609 https://twitter.com/owillis/status/887803747237339138 https://twitter.com/BeninCitizen/status/887807354754007042 https://twitter.com/BeninCitizen/status/887807354754007042

Game of Thrones Season 5 Finale Photos: Sucks To Be Cersei!

After what might be the most memorable run of episodes in the show's history, Game of Thrones Season 5 will come to an end this Sunday. As always, numerous plot strands have been left dangling, and we're curious to see how showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff will cap off the season in a satisfying fashion, while still leaving fans thirsting for more. Is it even possible for them to top the epic White Walker battle of ” Hardhome ,” or the flame-spewing badassery at the end of ” The Dance of Dragons “? We have our doubts, but if they pull it off, it wouldn't be the first time Weiss and Benioff shocked us out of our seats. Sunday's episode is titled “Mother's Mercy,” and we can't help but wonder what which one of GoT's mom's will finally show some real maternal instinct. Will Cersei finally do right by Tommen? Perhaps Dany will manage to re-assemble her entire dragon family. Heck, maybe Gilly will take her son away from the increasingly horrific goings on at Castle Black. Now that the show has officially left the books in the dust plot-wise, there's no telling what might come next. But feel free to check out these pics from the finale and engage in some wild speculation:   1. Cersei Lannister Has Looked Better Cersei’s been in the slammer for the past few episodes. That’ll teach her to hand her power over to religious nut jobs! (And bang her cousin, kill her husband, etc…) 2. Sansa Looks Shocked Sansa appears to be unpleasantly surprised. That’s pretty much how we looked when she married Ramsay. 3. Jaqen H’ghar Jaqen and the creepy hall with all the faces. How come he gets a cool name, and Arya has to be just “A Girl”? 4. The Khaleesi’s Dudes Tyrion, Jorah and Daario. We’re assuming they’re posing for the cover of their debut album. 5. Stannis and Melisandre Spoiler alert: Melisandre is probably all, “Sorry I made you burn your daughter alive. That was totally lame of me.” 6. Conference at Castle Black Jon and Sam hold a powwow. We get the feeling their Night Watch brothers may soon cause them some trouble. View Slideshow

13 Hottest Women on Game of Thrones: Where Does the Khaleesi Rank?!

It’s not hard to see how Game of Thrones became the most-watched show in HBO’s history . The series really has something for everyone: love stories for women (if you can ignore the incest part), uber-gory battles for men (sadistic dudes, in particular)…heck, it even has dragons for young children! (We kid!) But for all the praise heaped upon author George RR Martin and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the show’s casting department has gone woefully unnoticed. After all, these are the folks who have not only presented us with the one part of the show you can enjoy on pause, they’re also responsible for what might be the most intensely debated issue amongst fans: who’s the hottest woman in Westeros?! 13 Hottest Women on Game of Thrones 13. Paula Deen RIPS Lisa Jackson Over Bogus Racism Allegations, Lawsuit

Paula Deen has filed a blistering response to the lawsuit that is torpedoing her career, claiming Lisa Jackson embellished or made up her racism allegations. Yes, Paula admitted using racial slurs in the deposition she gave, but remember that she has NOT admitted anything Jackson has accused her of. Deen said, under oath, that she has used racial epithets in the past, in conversations with friends and family – never in a discriminatory situation. She is fuming that Jackson, who was fired as manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, is actually asking for damages based on racism. Citing discrimination and harassment, Lisa Jackson claims she is “African-American adjacent” – her partner has a biracial niece, she claims in the lawsuit. According to Deen, Jackson’s niece is NOT African-American , but Hispanic. Also, Paula is furious that Jackson alleges she used the n-word in connection with her brother Bubba’s wedding, yet has never offered any proof of this. Thus, Deen feels she was deposed in a lawsuit and forced to admit having used shameful – but quite possibly irrelevant – terms based on bogus claims. As we know, in the wake of the scandal, she’s been fired by Food Network … and Walmart, Caesars, Smithfield Foods, Target, and (sort of) QVC. The celebrity chef wants the case thrown out, and for a judge to throw the book at Jackson, fining her with sanctions for creating a BS harassment case. Stay tuned …

Game of Thrones Season 4: The Red Viper Cast!

We may not be heading back to the Seven Kingdoms any time soon, but HBO has cast the first major role on Game of Thrones Season 4 . Pedro Pascal – who has appeared on episode of Red Widow, Graceland and The Good Wife – will come on board next year as The Red Viper, the cunning Prince of Dorne who has a score to settle in the Westeros capital: His sister was among those murdered when Mad King Aerys was overthrown by Robert Baratheon and the Lannisters. David Benioff and Dan Weiss told Entertainment Weekly that casting the role was “tough” because the prince is sexy and charming… but also dangerous and inspired by hate. In a fun tease for future episodes, the creators added of The Red Viper: “He wasn’t easy to find and he won’t be easy to stop.”

‘Game Of Thrones’ Death Catches Actress By ‘Surprise’

‘They’re dropping like flies!’ Amrita Acharia laughs about latest episode. By Kara Warner Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage in “Game of Thrones” Photo: Paul Schiraldi/HBO Another week, another enthralling, action-packed episode of HBO’s hit fantasy-epic “Game of Thrones.” There are so many elements to appreciate in creator George R.R. Martin’s brilliant and twisted work, one being the way in which the author/executive producer has no qualms about offing important characters. After last season’s huge shocker with Sean Bean’s character , fans should be ready for anything, like what went down at the end of the most recent episode. (For those who haven’t yet watched “The Old Gods and the New,” do not read any further — spoilers ahead! ) As we mentioned in , show-runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss did some deviating from Martin’s original plotlines in the books and killed off a character very unexpectedly. The unfortunate victim was Dany’s loyal Dothraki handmaiden, Irri, played by Amrita Acharia. MTV News caught up with the actress recently to talk about her character’s surprise exit, of which even she wasn’t aware until she read the script. “I got the script, and [David and Dan] were like, ‘Sorry, we killed you!’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, you could bring me back as a zombie,’ ” Acharia said with a smile, hinting at some plot points our fellow readers of Martin’s books know well. “It was a surprise, but it was a good scene, so that’s good. “Obviously, it’s sad to leave,” she added. “Dany has already lost a blood rider, so for her to lose one of her handmaidens, they’d become friends, and I think that’s pretty tough. She’s been through so much. She’s lost her babies, she’s lost her husband, and she’s had to go trolling the desert, and all of a sudden someone else dies. They’re dropping like flies!” she said with a laugh. “But I’ve had a really good run of it, so I enjoyed it.” Did this week’s death catch you by surprise? Let us know in the comments.
