Kailyn Lowry Helps Raise Money for Puerto Rico: Exclusive Details!

Kailyn Lowry is, for whatever reason, one of the most hated of all the Teen Moms. Which is weird, because when was the last time you saw one of the moms put in so much work for such an important cause? Over the weekend, Kailyn, along with Jo Rivera and Vee Torres, hosted an event to raise money for Puerto Rico, which is still suffering after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. And the details are just so very, very touching … 1. Hurricane Maria In September, Hurricane Maria caused an unprecedented amount of damage in Puerto Rico. Dozens of people were killed, and dozens more are still missing. Even now, much of the island is left without power and clean water. 2. Teen Moms Help Out Shortly after the hurricane, Kailyn and Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell began working on fundraising ideas — they even asked their social media followers for help in chartering a ship or a plane to deliver supplies to Puerto Rico! 3. A Plan After a bit of planning, Kailyn announced what she’d come up with: she would team up with her ex, Jo Rivera, and his fiancée, Vee Torres, to host a fundraiser! 4. Teamwork! Kailyn, Jo, and Vee held their fundraiser on Saturday night in Bloomfield, New Jersey — look how great they all look together! 5. $$$ Guests could make a $50 donation ahead of the gala, or they could pay $60 at the door. A portion of that money went towards Americares, a non-profit disaster relief organization that’s working in Puerto Rico right now. The rest of the money went towards their next fundraiser — more on that in a moment! 6. The Details! Kailyn exclusively spoke to us about the event, explaining how it went and why it was important to her. “Catelynn and I really wanted to come up with a relief fund after what happened in Puerto Rico,” she explained. “Since Jo’s family resides in Puerto Rico, we had to reach out to him and see what they needed and what we could do to help.” View Slideshow

Elsewhere In The World: More Than 1,000 Bodies Spotted Floating In Tacloban As Killer Typhoon Strikes The Phillippines [Video]

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people in the Phillippines , Vietnam and South China after this devastation . According to NY Post reports : One of the strongest typhoons ever to make landfall devastated the central Philippines, killing more than 1,000 people in one city alone and 200 in another province, the Red Cross estimated on Saturday, as reports of high casualties began to emerge. A day after Typhoon Haiyan churned through the Philippine archipelago in a straight line from east to west, rescue teams struggled to reach far-flung regions, hampered by washed out roads, many choked with debris and fallen trees. The death toll is expected to rise sharply from the fast-moving storm, whose circumference eclipsed the whole country and which late on Saturday was heading for Vietnam. Among the hardest hit was coastal Tacloban in central Leyte province, where preliminary estimates suggest more than 1,000 people were killed, said Gwendolyn Pang, secretary general of the Philippine Red Cross, as water surges rushed through the city. “An estimated more than 1,000 bodies were seen floating in Tacloban as reported by our Red Cross teams,” she told Reuters. “In Samar, about 200 deaths. Validation is ongoing.” She expected a more exact number to emerge after a more precise counting of bodies on the ground in those regions. Witnesses said bodies covered in plastic were lying on the streets. Television footage shows cars piled atop each other. “The last time I saw something of this scale was in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami,” said Sebastian Rhodes Stampa, head of the U.N. Disaster Assessment Coordination Team sent to Tacloban, referring to the 2004 earthquake and tsunami. “This is destruction on a massive scale. There are cars thrown like tumbleweed and the streets are strewn with debris.” The category 5 “super typhoon” weakened to a category 4 on Saturday, though forecasters said it could strengthen again over the South China Sea en route to Vietnam. Authorities in 15 provinces in Vietnam have started to call back boats and prepare for possible landslides. Nearly 300,000 people were moved to safer areas in two provinces alone – Da Nang and Quang Nam – according to the government’s website. We’ll continue to pray for those whose lives have been affected by this terrible storm. Instagram/@macmaloon/@funkmastalexx

Divorce Drama: Kris Humphries Claims Kris Jenner Advised Kim Kardashian To Create “The Tape” With Ray-J To Make Her Famous

Kris Humphries Claims Kris Jenner Staged Kim Kardashian Tape There are just too many things wrong with this one right here… Via TMZ: Kris Humphries trashed Kim Kardashian and her family in conversations and text messages to his former girlfriend, Myla Sinanaj … telling her Kris Jenner not only directed Kim to shoot her sex tape, but to re-shoot because Kris J didn’t think the first one was pretty enough. As TMZ first reported, Kim has subpoenaed Myla in Kim’s divorce case, and we’ve learned Myla has a lot to say about what Kris told her about his relationship with his famous estranged wife. In addition to the sex tape, sources tell us Myla has numerous text messages in which Kris says she is the love of his life and he wants to get the divorce over with quickly so they can spend the rest of their time on earth together. In several of the messages, we’re told Kris says specifically that he’s “moved on” from Kim. The information is extremely damaging to Kris, because he’s alleging in his divorce that Kim has destroyed him emotionally by allegedly defrauding him into believing it was a real marriage. Turns out, Kris has been banging Myla since mid-January, so his devastation argument may be hard to swallow. Sources close to the Kardashians tell TMZ … Kris is lying about the sex tape. They say Kim made it clear at the beginning of their relationship she would not discuss the tape because she didn’t want to be judged by it. Our sources say the sex tape never came up in any subsequent discussions between Kim and Kris and it just shows he’s delusional. Regardless if this is true or not, this Kris Humphries character is acting like such a little beyotch. If it is true, Kris Jenner is one “by any means necessary” muhfugga! Birth control at 14 and now this!

Close But No Cigar: USA Womens Soccer Team Falls Just Short Of Winning The World Cup, Loses To Japan

Good job ladies. We’re all proud of you regardless! Nobody likes to lose. It makes your cereal taste soggy and your bed feel lumpy. Depending on the circumstances and what’s at stake, losing can remain in your system like a parasite. There is no known cure, other than to go out and win the next time around. But I have to issue the U.S. women’s soccer team a special waiver, to be used just this once. It’s not because losing is acceptable. It’s just that, considering everything, it’s not as stomach-churning as it could have been. The U.S. women deserve a few gentle noogies today for squandering a raft of opportunities in their World Cup final Sunday against Japan. In another sporting context, you might be tempted to give them even more of a scolding. In the first half alone, they probably could have been ahead, 5-0, or so, if shots had gone a foot or two this way or that. They had leads of 1-0, and 2-1 in this 2011 final, and each time allowed a determined team of Japanese women to tie the game. After extra time, it came down to penalty kicks, like it did in 1999. There likely were lots of sports bras on the field Sunday in Frankfurt, but none were bared for the U.S. in a moment of sports exultation and marketing bliss. The U.S. women failed to come through. They lost. Here are the three provisos from the aforementioned waiver that apply: They played hard and they played well; they just didn’t capitalize on several chances, and they couldn’t fend off Japan. They lost to Japan, a nation reeling from the devastation of an earthquake, tsunami and a nuclear disaster. The crushing disappointment that ordinarily accompanies such a defeat is diluted somewhat by the satisfaction that Americans — and the rest of the world, for that matter — feel toward Japan’s spirit-lifting triumph. And, it was an exciting game full of plot twists that kept onlookers riveted. It was definitely an exciting game and although we didn’t get a win, the level of competition and spirit seemed to invigorate American’s interest in the sport. Are you more interested in soccer after this years men’s and women’s world cup?? Source

On Friday, April 15, TEPCO released what is the most conclusive video of the devastation at Fukushima. After watching these three clips we fail to see how even the most optimistic of individuals see the situation as resolving with anything but entombment, which however judging by the urgency in Japan’s actions will be the first even on the agenda…in 2015. 60-Year-Old Man Saved Two Days After Tsunami: “I Thought Today Was The Last Day Of My Life”

In times like these it’s always good to know miracles do happen. A 60-year-old Japanese man was found 10 miles from shore floating on the fragments of his shattered house, two days after the tsunami swept him out to sea. Hiromitsu Shinkawa was pushed out to sea while he clung to the roof of his home after a tsunami swept away his wife. For two days, he drifted off Japan’s northeastern coast, trying to get the attention of helicopters and ships that passed by – to no avail. Finally, on Sunday, a Japanese military vessel spotted the 60-year-old waving a red cloth. He was about 15 kilometers (about 10 miles) offshore from the earthquake-ravaged city of Minamisoma, said Yoshiyuki Kotake, a Defense Ministry spokesman. Shinkawa told his rescuers that the tsunami hit as he and his wife returned home to gather some belongings after Friday’s quake. His wife was swept away, Kotake said. “Several helicopters and ships passed by, but none of them noticed me,” he was quoted by another defense agency spokesman, who refused to be identified by name, as saying. Japanese troops used a small boat to pluck him from the ocean. Military officials said Shinkawa was lucky that mild weather and relatively calm seas enabled him to stay afloat for nearly two days, the Kyodo news agency reported. “I thought today was the last day of my life,” it quoted him as saying. Shinkawa’s wife is still among the missing in Japan. Amazing survival story, but for every Hiromitsu Shinkawa there are thousands more lives lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan affected by this devastation. R.I.P. to all the dead.

Daily Kos Holocaust Denial: 9/11 Attacks ‘Were More About Optics Than Actual Harm’

While the Ground Zero Mosque controversy strikes the media as an opportunity for “healing” that’s being denied by stubborn conservatives, the leftists at the Daily Kos see it as an opportunity for Holocaust Denial. The blogger known as “Something the Dog Said” dropped this jaw-dropping paragraph Thursday morning about fear of Muslims: Given that they are such a small minority in this nation, it is odd that so many of our fellow citizens see them as such a threat. Yes, the 9/11 attacks were horrific, but they were more about optics than actual harm. The economy was already taking a hit before the Twin Towers fell.  The reaction of the nation to seeing two major buildings in New York fall on T.V. has boosted the attack out of proportion. While the loss of even a single life is to be condemned and the devastation these deaths caused the families of those killed, more than this number of teens are killed every year in car crashes . These are also tragic losses but we do not make the kind of high profile issue of it that the 9/11 attacks are. This blogger obviously can’t tell the difference in political meaning between a collection of teen car accidents and an intentional, ideological mass murder. This is the same blogger who just wrote on July 30 that Republicans are much scarier than jihadists: Find an issue and whip up hysteria, without consideration of the long term affects or what might be lost by the tactic.  It is just another of the legion of reasons why the modern Republican Party can not be trusted with the government of the United States or any single state for that matter. The radicalization they claim will come from mosques is just a pale reflection of the radicalization that has occurred in the ranks of their Party . If there is a group to fear, it is Radical Republicans, which is basically to say the most of the Republican Party at this point. “Optics” is a word better used for how it looks for Michelle Obama to go on a ritzy Spanish vacation, not to suggest 9/11 was really an insignificant crime. Did BP and the government cover up a massive "Death Gyre" of dead sea animals in the gulf?

Firsthand accounts and leaked photos of a secret BP processing facility — possibly for dead animals — point to a massive cover-up in the Gulf. An exclusive report. ~~ June 10th was a strange day. In a surprising move, the Coast Guard instituted a dramatic expansion of the “no-fly” zone over the Gulf, preventing major media outlets like the New York Times and even scientists with top government clearance from accessing the area. This caused a wave of journalistic uproar and bewilderment on the part of researchers like Edward E. Clark of the Wildlife Center (above) who had been invited to study the impacts just prior to the media blackout (Haig Varabedian via Citizen Global). More distressing than the media blackout itself was a lingering question in my mind … what on earth could be so BAD that the U.S. government would risk losing credibility in the minds of journalists, the scientific community and the general public to ensure concealment? Was the sea floor cracking? Was a giant cloud of benzene going to wipe out the Eastern Seaboard? Had Godzilla emerged from the sea to wreak havoc upon us all? One thing was clear … we weren't getting the real story. All manner of apocalyptic scenarios were running through my head that morning when by chance I received a very strange message that pointed to a less fantastic but equally horrific explanation. It was a text message that had been sent on a borrowed phone to a man's wife, a man who had just returned from what many are now calling the “Death Gyre.” The message was e-mailed to a family friend who posted it on Facebook and it has since been recirculated. Here's the text (you will notice a few colloquialisms that are specific to Bayou talk) so read through the lines, and forgive the misspellings: I have to write this mail on a new cellphone because they have taken our phones off us. people dont know how bad this oil is.. im working in the cleanup operation and we've all has to sign a legal paper that stops us from talking to anyone. im onshore now and cant tell you where but ive just finished a very long shift in the gulf and textin this….fast as i can. the military are watching us dolphins whales, seabirds fish are all floating dead on the surface of the water.. see more.. see more…boats helicopters are scooping them away dead and dying… Whales are being exploded by the military cause they cant be carried. dead bodys as far as the eye can see air smeling of benzene ..weve seen birds fall from the sky. workers falling sick we think some workers have died. my friends are hard oilmen it was ok to at the start but now we cry. dead sea life is as big as genocide you wont imagine Since no one has yet been able to get this individual to go on record (and the Facebook post was eventually taken down) this can't be taken as hard evidence, but it does beg the question … just how many animals have died because of the worst oil spill in U.S. history? HuffPo: The Crime of the Century ~ What BP and the US Government Don’t Want You to Know, Part I

The unprecedented disaster caused by the BP oil spill at the Deepwater Horizon Mississippi Canyon 252 site continues to expand even as National Incident Commander Thad Allen and BP assert that the situation is improving, the blown-out source capped and holding steady, the situation well in hand and cleanup operations are being scaled back. The New York Times declared on the front page this past week that the oil was disolving more rapidly than anticipated. Time magazine reported that environmental anti-advocate Rush Limbaugh had a point when he said the spill was a “leak”. Thad Allen pointed out in a press conference that boats are still skimming on the surface, a futile gesture when the dispersant Corexit is being used to break down oil on the surface. As the oil is broken down, it mixes with the dispersant and flows under or over any booming operations. To judge from most media coverage, the beaches are open, the fishing restrictions being lifted and the Gulf resorts open for business in a healthy, safe environment. We, along with Pierre LeBlanc, spent the last few weeks along the Gulf coast from Louisiana to Florida, and the reality is distinctly different. The coastal communities of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida have been inundated by the oil and toxic dispersant Corexit 9500, and the entire region is contaminated. The once pristine white beaches that have been subject to intense cleaning operations now contain the oil/dispersant contamination to an unknown depth. The economic impacts potentially exceed even the devastation of a major hurricane like Katrina, the adverse impacts on health and welfare of human populations are increasing every minute of every day and the long-term effects are potentially life threatening. Over the Gulf from the Source (official term for the Deepwater Horizon spill site) in to shore there is virtually no sign of life anywhere in the vast areas covered by the dispersed oil and Corexit. This in a region previously abundant with life above and below the ocean's surface in all its diversity. For months now, scientists and environmental organizations have been asking where all the animals are. The reported numbers of marine animals lost from BP fall far short of the observed loss. The water has a heavy appearance and the slightly iridescent greenish yellow color that extends as far as the eye can see. ~~ more at link, including photos added by: samantha420
