Paul McCartney is the latest musical icon to talk openly about Michael Jackson. Specifically, of course, Paul McCartney is the latest musical icon to talk openly about the strong likelyhood that Michael Jackson was almost a serial child molestor. Such accusations against Jackson are not new. But they’ve been brought to the forefront of late and emphasized in the most personal and heinous of ways by the documentary Leaving Neverland . It aired on HBO last month and centered on James Safechuck and Wade Robson, two men who claim the superstar abused them while they were young boys during the 1980s and 1990s. The film includes interviews with its subjects, along with harrowing details of their alleged ordeal and relationship with Jackson. It appears to have convinced many previous doubters that Jackson truly was guilty of these awful crimes and misdeeds. McCartney, the legendary former member of The Beatles, hasn’t defended Jackson in his first comments since the movie aired. But he has expressed legitimate shock over what the documentary depicts and concludes. “I think it’s sad,” McCartney told Radio Futuro in Chile, where he has been performing. “Obviously Michael was a great singer, a great artist and a great dancer. For years we’ve loved that. Nobody knew about the other side that’s shown in that movie,” the artist added. That’s not really true, of course. Jackson was taken to court (and acquitted) in 2005 on similar charges of molestation, whilc (reliable) talk about these kinds of actions following the singer around until his death in June of 2009. “When I knew him he was a really nice guy. I didn’t know about the dark side,” McCartney continues in this interview, adding: “It makes it very difficult to look back on the memories which were good memories, to think, oh boy, there was other stuff going on.” Jackson covered McCartney’s song “Girlfriend” on his “Off the Wall” album in 1979. The pair also recorded “The Girl Is Mine” together, along with “Say Say Say.” They were pretty close many decades ago, which is why it’s so hard for McCartney to accept the probable truth about Jackson. “For me, I’m okay to just stay with the personal memories I had of him. The other side is the other side. I don’t know about that,” McCartney said, concluding: “I can understand why people are very disappointed in him and angry that he had the dark side.” The other music Hall of Famers who have spoken out about Jackson have stuck their foot far deeper into their mouths than McCartney does here. In a truly stunning and nauseating statement, Barbara Streisand recently said of The King of Pop : “His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has. You can say ‘molested’, but those children, as you heard say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuck], they were thrilled to be there.” YIKES, right? She even added: “They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.” Ummm… so we guess the well-orchestrated molestation was okay then, Babs? The singer/actress eventually apologized for these wildly tone deaf remarks, saying on Instagram: I am profoundly sorry for any pain or misunderstanding I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims, because the words as printed do not reflect my true feelings. I didn’t mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way. Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives. I feel deep remorse and I hope that James and Wade know that I truly respect and admire them for speaking their truth. Diana Ross, however, is apparently standing by her words. The Supremes singer referred to Jackson a “magnificent incredible force” and asked his accusers to ” stop in the name of love ” in an impassioned, disgusting Tweet last week. “This is what’s on my heart this morning. I believe and trust that Michael Jackson was and is A magnificent incredible force to me and to many other.” Ross concluded the messages by quoting one of The Supremes most famous hits, writing: “STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE.” She was famously quite tight with Jackson, which is why we’d like to amend this conclusion and address Ross as follows: STOP BEING TERRIBLE AND INSENSITIVE AND TOTALLY BLIND TO WHAT JACKSONW WAS IN THE NAME OF FRIENDSHIP. Source: John Gunion / Getty The internet was in shambles back in January after Surviving R. Kelly aired. The famed singer has faced sexual misconduct accusations for more than two decades, but it was Lifetime’s 6-part doc that finally put the nail in his pied piper coffin—or so we pray. As several women came forward in the documentary to describe how they were controlled and abused by Kelly , fans and critics of the accused pedophile began arguing online about whether or not the world really needed to #MuteRKelly. Obviously, the answer is YES…but unreasonable stans argued they could “separate the art from the artist” …that the man has nothing to do with the music. How? Supporting the art literally puts money in the artist’s pocket. Not to mention, R. Kelly alluded to his abuse of young Black girls all throughout the music he wrote from himself and others. Now music lovers are having the same “art vs. artist” argument after watching Leaving Neverland , the agonizing documentary about the alleged abuse two boys faced at the hands of the late Michael Jackson . Should we mute MJ? Stevie Wonder doesn’t seem to think so… “He’s died, he’s dead. Hopefully, we can continue the legacy of inspiration he has given a lot of kids and a lot of people,” he told TMZ . Hit the flip to see what folks have had to say on the topic.

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) on Mar 7, 2019 at 10:44am PST Comedienne Mo’nique particularly had a problem with Oprah’s interview and questioned if she did it for ratings? “Here’s a man that was found not guilty in the eyes of the law,” Mo said during the broadcast with her husband Sidney Hicks. “And you wait for 10 years after this man was deceased, to now do an interview with people who said they lied.” She added, “For me, it’s sad and disheartening. That man welcomed you in his home. And you spoke of how beautiful, and all the love this man has shown children all over the world.” Clearly Mo isn’t letting up in Oprah anytime soon. “When we’re calling someone a molester and they’re no longer here… Michael Jackson is not here to defend himself, which is a major problem. [He was] found not guilty… then you come back and you allow these two men to get on your platform and tell this story, and that man cannot defend himself, who does that?” What say you? Was Oprah in the right or the wrong? RELATED STORIES: The ‘Leaving Neverland’ Documentary Left Michael Jackson Fans Polarized Bobby Brown Says He Taught Michael Jackson How To Do The Moonwalk
“L eaving Neverland ” premiered Sunday and Monday on HBO. The documentary about child abuse allegations against Michael Jackson has caused many people to question the future of the King of Pop’s legacy. However, Paris Jackson , 20, is standing by her dad. See Also: ‘I Thought It Was A Hoax’: Sparkle Talks R. Kelly’s Marriage To Aaliyah Paris Jackson said she he has not seen the documentary and “was not offered the chance to see it before it premiered at Sundance,” TMZ reported. Nonetheless, she “firmly believes” Michael Jackson was not a pedophile. In 1993, Michael Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy. In January of 1994, he reportedly settled for $23 million. The accuser’s father committed suicide in 2009, five months after the singer died. Jordan Chandler reportedly has never come forward about the allegations and supposedly lives outside of the country. In 2017, when Wade Robson, a choreographer who is featured in “Leaving Neverland,” accused Michael Jackson of sexual assault—even though he’d said in the past the singer didn’t assault him—there was a hunt to find Chandler. According to The Daily Mail , he left the U.S. to avoid investigators. In 2003, Michael Jackson was charged with seven counts of child molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent to a 13-year-old boy. He was ultimately acquitted of all charges. Robson testified at the 2003 trial, but James Safechuck , the other person featured in “Leaving Neverland,” did not. Many people have been saying the documentary is untrue, including Brett Barnes , who said he knew Michael Jackson when he was child. According to TMZ , the film “implies Jackson molested him as a boy. As for why Barnes thinks this … Wade Robson — one of the singer’s well-known alleged victims — claims in the doc, Barnes ‘replaced him.’ The film then shows Michael and Brett together on tour. Thus, the insinuation.” Barnes has threatened HBO with a lawsuit “claiming the documentary puts him in a false light and subjects him to ‘hatred, contempt and ridicule.’ Presumably, the lawyer is saying MJ supporters will target Barnes as a result of the documentary.” Barnes testified at Michael Jackson’s criminal trial in 2005 and said he was never assaulted by him. He also tweeted this in January. Not only do we have to deal with these lies, but we’ve also got to deal with people perpetuating these lies. The fact that they fail to do the small amount of research it takes to prove these are lies, by choice or not, makes it even worse. — Brett Barnes (@IAmBrettBarnes) January 30, 2019 Michael Jackson was acquitted of all charges.
