Dipset MC agrees to partake in 10-week anger management course following January car crash. By James Dinh Jim Jones (file) Photo: Charles Eshelman/ Getty Images Jim Jones pleaded guilty on Tuesday to an assault charge resulting from a car crash last January after which he attacked the driver. Jones has also agreed to participate in a 10-week anger management course. According to DNAInfo.com , the hip-hop lyricist (whose real name is Joseph Jones) happily walked out of the Manhattan Criminal Court, where he received a plea deal for the third-degree assault charge. Jones was accused of crashing his Bentley into another vehicle near the Henry Hudson Parkway and West 178th Street in New York in January 2010. Prosecutors claimed the rapper attacked the driver, pushed him into the highway twice and tossed his keys into oncoming traffic. The Harlem MC appeared somewhat relieved about the court ruling, tweeting , “Anger mngment was the result, smh. well duhhhh been needing tht.” The Dipset MC and his lawyer, Scott Leemon, remained tight-lipped on the details of the incident, but when leaving the courthouse, the rapper told DNAInfo.com it’s best to focus on his positive community contributions, including his 12-week curriculum high-school course that teaches the ins and outs of the music business. Back in April, Jones spoke to MTV News about the lecture class , saying “I’ll be teaching … once a week for eight weeks. Hopefully, the kids will come on out and get up and close with the music business from an executive point of view, from an artist point of view, from a label-owner point of view, from a marketing-genius point of view, from a video director’s point of view, from a manger’s point of view. Me, I’mma tell you all of that. You heard.” The class, which is called “Music Business 101,” is in affiliation with the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance, an organization the hip-hop star helped found.
