American Idol Recap: All the Performances, Twice the Eliminations

American Idol took fans back to the 1980s last night. But not before it took away the hopes and dreams of two contestants. Because the judges used their save last week on Qaasim Middleton, the axe came down on a pair of hopefuls Wednesday evening, with Maddie Walker and  Adanna Duru seeing their impressive runs come to an end. Rayvon Owen, meanwhile, found himself in the Bottom 3. Did he redeem himself with the cover of a classic song? Check out all nine performances and give them each a grade now: American Idol Top 9 Perform the 80s 1. Up Next: ” American Idol Top 9 Perform the 80s .” We’ll be redirecting you shortly… Daniel Seavey , at only 15, was way out of his element with “You Make My Dreams,” while Quentin   Alexander got very deeply into his rendition of “In the Air Tonight.” Joey Cook most definitely had fun (but no chance to win) with “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” while Tyanna Jones tried to toss an EDM beat into “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” Jax put her very own spin on “You Give Love a Bad Name,” while Nick Fradiani rocked his crescendo on the overly-done “Man in the Mirror.” Clark Beckham sat at the piano and belted out “Every Breath You Take” beautifully, while Middleton didn’t really make “Addiction to Love” his own. Finally, Owen did a perfectly fine job on “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” But will that be enough to save him from elimination next week? Now you tell us: Who should win American Idol Season 14? Clark Beckham Joey Cook Jax Daniel Seavey Nick Fradiani Tyanna Jones Qaasim Middleton Rayvon Owen Quentin Alexander View Poll »

WATCH: Bruce Willis Versus The World In ‘Everybody Wants To Kill Bruce’

Is Bruce Willis the most hunted man in action movie history?  Editor Pierre-Alexandre Chauvat and sound mixer Sylvain Denis sure make a strong case for it in this epic supercut.   Everybody Wants to Kill Bruce mixes together scenes from Willis’ oeuvre   and bad-guy moments that include Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight and Tom Cruise’s  gray-haired hitman from Collateral.  If you ask me, there is one missed opportunity here: When Willis is crawling around in the ducts, he should have encountered the Alien from Ridley Scott’s original. Remember, when poor Tom Skerritt went looking for the creature in the ventilation shafts and met an untimely end?  I would have loved that to see that. Perhaps there are other scenes you would have liked to see included?  Leave them in the comments. [ Movies.com  via Slashfilm.com ] Follow Frank DiGiacomo on  Twitter . Kristen Stewart’s Crabby See Through Top

I’m not sure about this Kristen Stewart chick, I know she’s a big star with the teenagers into sensitive vampires, but she just seems like such a crabby brat. I get it, poor you, everybody wants to take your picture because they love you. Boo hoo. Sometimes she actually dresses up and smiles for the camera and looks good, I guess that’s only when she wants you to go see her latest movie, but most of the time she just looks like a brooding spoiled brat. Here she is in a pissy mood again. At least she’s wearing a see through top this time.

Van Halen Return With New Single ‘Tattoo’

Band premieres first single with frontman David Lee Roth in nearly 16 years, and yes, it rocks. By James Montgomery Van Halen’s David Lee Roth Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Van Halen didn’t play “Tattoo” — their first single with frontman David Lee Roth in something like 16 years — during last week’s free-wheeling, free-spirited (and free-booze-fueled) club show in New York City, and it’s sort of a shame. It would’ve fit in rather nicely alongside the massive Carter/Reagan-era smashes they did work into the set. Don’t get me wrong, “Tattoo” isn’t on par with the likes of “Runnin’ With the Devil,” “Everybody Wants Some!!” or “Panama,” but it’s cast from the same mold: huge riffs, huger backbeat, hangar-sized chorus, soaring vocal harmonies (thought it’s certainly weird to see Eddie Van Halen’s son filling Michael Anthony’s role in that regard) and a killer guitar solo. Diamond Dave even gets to do one of his patented talking bits. But perhaps most importantly, in keeping with grand Van Halen tradition, it doesn’t try to be anything more than a Sterno-grade party starter. “Tattoo” isn’t really about politics or religion or really even feelings (except for maybe the part where Roth sings about his uncle being in the union). Instead, it is entirely about, well, tattoos. Of all shapes and sizes. Or, as Roth puts it, “Sexy dragon magic!” And really, what else needs to be said? At the very least, “Tattoo” is miles better than the last two songs the band recorded with Roth, “Me Wise Magic” and “Can’t Get This Stuff No More,” from 1996’s Best Of Volume 1. And when compared to the other “new” song Van Halen premiered during Thursday’s Caf

Kris Humphries Re-Signs With New Jersey Nets!

Kris Humphries is a free agent no more … professionally anyway. His old NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, have signed him to a one-year contract reportedly worth $8 million for the coming season, which opens next week. Humphries, who has been training in his native Minnesota, was not offered a new deal to return for a second season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York . See? Not everybody wants to dump Kris Humphries! Kris became an unrestricted free agent after last season, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds in what was by far the best of his seven seasons as a pro. He quickly went from being involved in the NBA’s Most Improved Player conversation to being involved in the most ridiculous celebrity breakup of all time. The Nets are set to face off against the Knicks in a preseason battle tomorrow night, and sources tell ESPN that Kris Humphries is expected to suit up and play. He is expected to resume his role as New Jersey’s starting power forward and focus on basketball instead of the circus that has become his personal life. There have been concerns that Kris’ return may diminish Brook Lopez’s rebounding production, but the center said he welcomes the return of “the Hump.” Funny, that’s what we say every day at THG. About Kim. [Photo: WENN.com]
