He is currently listed in stable condition and is awake and responsive. Both his medical team and family are optimistic for a speedy recovery. The Washington Post reported in 2014 that there is a huge risk of a heart attack for black men over 40, “American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed a striking increase in risk for black men between ages 40 and 79. The study found that, in the period 2011 to 2014, 65 percent of them were at high risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years — compared with 54 percent for that age group during the period 1999 to 2002. KKKan’t Be Serious: Virginia Principal Apologizes For Black History Month ‘Runaway’ Slave Game

Source: Floresco Productions / Getty Virginia Elementary School Apologizes For Runaway Slave Game Virginia just KKKan’t get right. After the commonwealth’s Governor Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mike Herring were both involved in blackface scandals, a racist incident at an elementary school is garnering national attention. School officials at Madison’s Trust Elementary School in Ashburn, Virginia, are apologizing after third, fourth and fifth graders at the school were asked during P.E. class to play a game where students pretended to be runaway slaves. During the exercise, students went through an obstacle course representing the Underground Railroad and at least one black child, in particular, was made to act like a runaway. The Loudoun Times-Mirror broke the story and spoke with Loudoun NAACP Chapter President Michelle Thomas, who said she received complaints from parents about the Black History Month incident. “Loudoun County has a history of miseducating kids, number one, and perpetrating racist things amongst our students. This is not the first one. This is the first one of many. This is the most egregious, and the timing is incredible,” said Thomas said. She also noted that Attorney General Herring is a product of Loudoun County Public Schools. “[Herring] graduated from Loudoun Valley, so of course he wouldn’t know what he was doing, going up, dressing as blackface, because blackface is never discussed in the curriculum. When we discuss Jim Crow, it doesn’t come up,” she said. “ … The insensitivity is astronomical. We are in a racism crisis in Virginia, and the school is where it starts.” The school’s principal David Stewart sent a letter out following the incident and apologized. Stewart is promising that the content will be retaught in a “respectful manner.” “The lesson was culturally insensitive to our students and families. I extend my sincerest apology to our students and school community,” Stewart said in the letter. SIGHHHHHH, do these racist school incidents even surprise you anymore???

Teen Mom 2 Season Premiere: Get Ready For Jenelle’s Creepy Ex & Kail’s New Rival!

Have you recovered from everything that happened on last season of Teen Mom OG? Catelynn and Tyler's separation, Amber's postpartum depression, the introduction of Bristol and Cheyenne? It was a lot to take in for sure, but hopefully you're able to move on … Because a brand new season of Teen Mom 2 is coming up! In anticipation of the premiere, let's take a look at what's happened since the last season and discuss what we can expect in these new episodes. Just be warned … there is so, so much drama to break down. 1. What a Ride So let’s think about where we last left our Teen Mom 2 friends, all right? 2. Adam Problems In last season’s finale, we saw Chelsea deal with some visitation issues with Adam Lind — they’d worked it out in court that he could only see Aubree at a visitation center, but Chelsea found out that he’d been seeing her at his parents’ house while Aubree was visiting. It was a bad situation, but Chelsea worked everything out with Adam’s mother, so that’s cool. 3. Oh No, Leah Things with Leah were a little more heartbreaking, since we saw her take Ali to the hospital since she’s been having trouble breathing. Leah had a little breakdown about the situation, which was obviously understandable, but she got Ali a new machine that would help her exercise her lungs, and she also ensured that she’d have an aide at school for the rest of the year, something she’d been very concerned about. 4. Dealing with Dads Kailyn’s situation was quite a bit different than it is now — she was still having a hard time with Chris, and she and Javi were still in their kind of flirty stage before Lauren came into the picture and immediately got pregnant. 5. Just Briana Things Briana had just gotten some plastic surgery, and she had just broken up with Javi. We also got to see her have a heart-to-heart with Devoin, which was very sweet. 6. Dang It, Jenelle As for Jenelle, she was lying to her mother about what happened when she pulled a gun on that guy after following him back to his house and crying about how mean it was that MTV didn’t want David on the show. She said that he was her security blanket, and that she wouldn’t film if he couldn’t, and if the network didn’t like it, she’d gotten offers from Amazon and Netflix for other shows. View Slideshow

Local Organization Changes The Lives Of Young Girls In Atlanta Through Exercise

Source: FatCamera / Getty Kaylen Respress thought fifth grade was going to bring fun and games at her new school, but she found making friends was going to be harder than she thought. She felt like an outcast in her new fifth-grade class. According to CNN  introverts make up a third to half of the population. Repress’ introverted personality made it hard for her to develop friendships with others and interact with the students, but a new local program changed everything for her. Respress is one of many young girls growing up and trying to find herself. These early years of life are some that will help her develop into the young woman she wants to become. Making friends in school can be hard especially for girls. Many girls at Repress’ age do not even understand how hurtful some of their words can be, but Girls on the Run is a new program for inner-city girls to stand together as one. “I want to have friends like everyone else and not have to worry about any dumb boys bothering me while I’m playing.,” Respress said. ” Being in this program helped me meet new friends at school, and the best part is we even get snacks and new shoes for free!” Respress attends Girls on the Run at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Center here in Atlanta, Georgia. The programs director Tahj Richardson has been a key player in making sure the girls have fun and build long lasting friendships with each other all while getting their exercise in. “I want these girls to grow into to something bigger than what they came from, but in order to do that they need to learn that working together will make life easier than tearing each other down.” Richardson says that she wants the girls to develop not only a healthy relationship with each other, but with their selves as well. The program endorses a lifestyle plan that promotes healthy living by encouraging healthy eating and exercise habits. Richardson says that her and the girls go over healthy eating options that will help make the transition to healthy eating easier for some of the girls. Richardson also makes sure the girls know why it is so important for them to exercise at least 30 minutes every day. She says that the early development for a healthy lifestyle will promote a longtime healthy life overall. RELATED:  What’s The Best Places To Run In Atlanta? The program is free for girls to join and even gives the girls transportation to the recreational center from school. The program even supplies the girls with the general supplies you would need to kickstart a healthy lifestyle for free. Tennis shoes, sports bras, socks, shorts and t-shirts are just a few of the materials provided by the organization. Richardson says Girls on the Run wants all the girls to feel equal and to make sure that happens the organization goes out its way to make sure the girls all have everything they need. “Not everyone comes from a family that can buy them sneakers and sports bras. A lot of our girls here don’t have that type of financial security at home.” Richardson says. While the girls are having fun and building good lifestyle habits during the program’s practice time, they are also preparing for the Girls on the Run 5k race hosted at the Georgia State Stadium on November 10, 2018. Richardson says that girls are very excited and have been very dedicated to practicing their drills so that they all will be prepared together. “If one of the girls is having a rough day we as a team make it a point to uplift and push her so that no one is left out or behind. We want everyone to be equally prepared for the race. All of the girls started together, and they will finish as one as well.” Respress is so excited about the race that she has told all her family and they even plan to get shirts made to support her for the event. “I can’t wait for my mommy to see me cross the finish line with my friends! We’re going to take cool pictures at the finish line and my mom said I could have a sleepover after to celebrate with my friends!” Respress’ excitement shows how this program lightens the hearts of young girls all around the city. Individuals like Richardson are some of the people who make everything possible by believing in and having patience with the girls. Girls on the Run provides a positive outlet for inner-city girls to turn to. The actions of these leaders in the community have changed the lives of many young girls and have created friendships that will last forever. “I just want each girl to push themselves to the limit so that they know they can achieve anything they set out to do. None of these girls have ever ran a 5k but by the end of this program they will have done something they never had before, and that alone at their age will give them motivation to attempt whatever they desire and not give up.” Richardson says. Growing up can be hard, but with inner-city programs like Girls on the Run, the process can be much easier than it seems. words by:  Sydnee Evans

Ariel Winter’s Fake Lips of the Day

Ariel Winter probably doesn’t realize that her biggest concern in life shouldn’t be jacking up her lips with fillers, but rather quitting food, because the fake lips can make you look like a jacked up Kardashian, but it won’t make you hotter, if you’re plagued with a thick neck and look like a troll…while taking her exercise she posts so often on social media more seriously, and coupling it with diet because abs are made in the Kitchen, is probably a better strategy for her… I mean, she’s young now but will be 500 pounds soon, this is just the entry level of that…and really the lip injections may be the first of more surgeries and procedures to be hot and ready for instagram like so many of these other whores…which in and of itself is insanity…but the way the world works… I don’t have sympathy for a rich, famous, on a hit show girl…especially when she’s not hot…it’s like step it up, you have a responsibility to live up to your success you lazy fuck, and getting a lip injection isn’t cutting it. Terrible really..

Audrey Roloff: Jesus Wants You Off the Internet!

Give Audrey Roloff a bit of credit for being self-aware in her latest Instagram message. The Little People, Big World has taken to her social media page in order to encourage people… to get off of social media. Wait… what? Excuse her?!? The faithful reality star explained her point in a caption to the sweet photo above. As you can see, the image features Audrey cozying up in bed to her husband, Jeremy. And the caption opens as follows: For us, Sunday’s are for time with Jesus and friends, rest, reading, walks, games, fires, and doing our weekly marriage journal This is not the first time Audrey has mentioned her journal , which is something she takes very very seriously. Acknowledging that this message may be a tad “ironic,” Audrey continued, urging followers to read what she has to say – and then unplug their computer, basically. “If I can just convince a few of you to unplug for the rest of the day, it’s worth it!” she wrote, adding: “So I’m getting on here to tell you to GET OFF! Close this app and put your phone in a drawer if you have to! Stop scrolling, sharing, and spending and just be present. “Make Sunday a day of REST. “Comment below with an emoji that illustrates your ideal day of rest, and then CLOSE THIS APP and go do that thing!” Audrey wrote that she would get this exercise underway, sharing an emoji of flames, an emoji of books, an emoji of a journal and an emoji of a cookie. It’s safe to assume the flame emoji is a reference to daughter Ember Jean. Back in November, Audrey wrote a similar post, essentially telling God that she’ll use Instagram less often . For what reason? “As much as l love sharing my life with y’all and what I’ve learned/am learning, l never want to be someone who spends more time sharing on social media than l do seeking the Lord and searching His truths,” she explained at the time. Audrey continued late last year: “I want to be someone who spends more time reading truth, engaging wisdom, and listing for His still small voice, than sharing my own incomplete oversimplified perspectives.” So… why has Roloff not really stuck with this vow? Why does she still frequently share photos and her thoughts on social media? The reality star has mattresses to share, people ! We kid. Sort of. We definitely do give Audrey a hard time for using her faith and even her family to shill for various products, but we’d also be sad if she took a true hiatus from Instagram because that would mean fewer Ember Jean photos . And we need our Ember Jean fix! She is such a cutie patootie! View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff: Here Are 5 Shocking Facts About Me! What do you think of Audrey’s Jesus-related piece of advice here? Have you ever considered giving up the Internet for one day per week? Or does that seem like an impossible challenge?
