Exclusive: Feds Trying To Shut Down Mendeecees’ Bid For Less Prison Time

Reality Star Wants To Get Out Early To Help Kids Stay Out Of Drug Dealing The federal government has fired back at Love & Hip Hop New York Mendeecees Harris’ call for a lower prison sentence. The married father filed court docs on Halloween asking for a lighter sentence, arguing that he can change more kids lives on the outside. He said he wants to get out early to continue his work as a motivational speaker to help young people stay out of the streets and the drug dealing lifestyle. Through a plea deal, Harris, 38, admitted that he trafficked cocaine and heroin from New York City to upstate New York for years. A judge sentenced him to eight to ten years earlier this year and he is eligible for parole in November 2020, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. His two codefendants – one of whom is his brother – are also behind bars. In his response to Mendeecees’ lower prison bid, acting US Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. said there were several reasons why the judge should deny Mendeecees’ plea for less prison time. Kennedy said the court lacks the authority to reduce his sentence, Mendeecees was a major drug trafficker who needs to serve his full time and his plea deal was already very generous, according to the court papers filed Dec. 12, which were obtained by BOSSIP.

Breaking News: Derrick Rose Found NOT Guilty In Gang Rape Trial

NBA Star Vindicated In Sex Assault Trial NBA star Derrick Rose was found NOT guilty Wednesday in his federal gang rape trial – and is off the hook for more than $20 million in damages. A jury of six women and two men spent Wednesday deliberating on the contentious case before delivering their unanimous decision, capping off a two week trial that revealed graphic details about the New York Knick star’s sex life.  Rose, along with friends Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, were cleared of charges of sexual battery, trespassing and battery inside Los Angeles Federal Court. The accuser sued Rose for $21 million after she said he and the two friends broke into her apartment three years ago and took turns raping her while she was unconscious. Rose has maintained that the sex was consensual, and her suit was a money grab after he stopped speaking to her and wouldn’t reimburse her for sex toys. The newly-minted New York Knicks player is now expected to join his teammates for the rest of the season. Story is developing.

Baller Bolitics: Denver Broncos’ Brandon Marshall Loses Endorsement Over National Anthem Protest

Broncos Linebacker Brandon Marshall Loses Credit Union Endorsement Over Anthem Protest According to a report in SportsIllustrated , Brandon Marshall ‘s Kaepernick-esque protest of the National Anthem will cost him on of his endorsements… Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall has lost his endorsement deal with Air Academy Federal Credit Union after kneeling during the national anthem on Thursday night before a win over the Panthers. The Colorado-based credit union serves active and retired members of the United States military. “Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership,” president and CEP Glenn Strebe said in a statement. “AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandon’s right of expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors.” After the game Marshall explained to the DenverPost exactly what his kneeling was meant to signify: “I’m not against the military. I’m not against the police or America. I’m just against social injustice,” Marshall said after the game. “I’m proud of it. I don’t regret it. I know this is right.” Marshall said he was moved by the wave of police brutality that occurred this summer, including two killings of black men by police officers and a third mass shooting of police officers within a three-day span across the country. He’s following the path of Kaepernick, 49ers safety Eric Reid and Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane who have all sat or knelt during the national anthem in the preseason seeking change in what he feels are some of the hidden struggles like racial oppression and police brutality. “I feel like this is the right platform. I feel like this is our only platform to be heard,” Marshall said. “A lot of time people want us to just shut up and entertain them. Shut up and play football. But we have voices as well. We’re actually educated individuals that went to college. When we have an opinion and speak it, a lot of people bash us.” Would you like more athletes to speak up even at the risk of sounding like Shaq and Ray Lewis ? Image via DenverPost Continue reading

If You Say So: Jailed Former Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle Files Suit For Emotional Damages

Subway Creep Files Suit For Damages In Child Pornography Case Jared Fogle , who’s currently serving 15-years in prison for conspiracy to receive child porn, is embroiled in another legal battle. He recently filed a motion to sue Russell Taylor, the former head of his charity, because Taylor was the one who secretly filmed the footage that landed Fogle in prison. Fogle believes that Taylor’s actions have led to injuries and damages against his family and he wants restitution in the form of $150,000. Via PEOPLE Jared Fogle has filed a federal complaint against the parents of an alleged victim who sued the disgraced former Subway pitchman after he allegedly received secret recordings of her changing her clothes and bathing, according to court papers obtained by PEOPLE. Last March, the girl’s parents filed a lawsuit against Fogle, who is serving more than 15 years in prison for conspiracy to receive child pornography and traveling to have sex with a minor, for emotional distress. The parent’s lawsuit alleges that Russell Taylor, the former head of Fogle’s charity, secretly filmed the underage girl and other children while they were changing clothes and bathing at Taylor’s house and gave the footage to Fogle. The lawsuit filed in the federal district court for the Southern District of Indiana is seeking at least $150,000 in damages. In the motion filed Thursday, Fogle says the girl’s parents “through their actions, caused or significantly contributed to the injuries and damages alleged by Jane Doe in her Complaint against the Defendants.” Fogle alleges the parents were responsible for their daughter’s depression, anxiety and emotional distress because of their “hateful and abusive relationship toward each other, which included, but was not limited to, engaging in frequent fighting and arguing between themselves; abusing alcohol and getting drunk; and engaging in frequent fighting, physical abuse, and arguing with Jane Doe.” Fogle also claims that the parents abuse and neglect caused their daughter’s alcohol and substance abuse, self-mutilation, and suicidal ideations. Fogle’s attorney, Ron Elberger, declined to comment. In June, Fogle lost a bid to have his prison sentence reduced. At that time, Elberger had argued that the sentencing judge abused her authority after prosecutors in a plea deal had agreed to seek no more than 12 1/2 years, or 150 months, following Fogle’s guilty plea. Fogle currently is serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in suburban Denver, Colorado. Do you think he has a good case?

Lou Pearlman, Crooked Creator Of N*SYNC And Backstreet Boys, Dies In Prison At Age 62

Lou Pearlman Dies In Prison While Serving 25-Year Sentence Lou Pearlman, the innovative yet extremely crooked manager that masterminded mega-acts like Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC , passed away while serving a 25-year prison sentence in connection with running a $300 million ponzi scheme yesterday. He was 62. Via Orlando Sentinel : Boy band promoter Lou Pearlman, known for launching groups such as the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSync, died in prison Friday while serving a 25-year sentence for one of the largest Ponzi schemes in Florida history, a federal inmate database shows. Pearlman cashed in on the boy-band craze, building an empire of acts around the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It collapsed in 2006 after he was exposed for running a massive $300 million Ponzi scheme. He declared bankruptcy in 2007 and was convicted of fraud in 2008. The cause of death for the 62-year-old was not disclosed Saturday. Calls to the Federal Bureau of Prisons were not returned. The Orlando entrepreneur is credited with starting the ’90s boy-band craze and managed huge acts including the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, O-Town and the Chippendales before the scheme was uncovered. After the scheme was uncovered, hundreds of lawsuits were filed in the case, including one by the Backstreet Boys, and some victims were taken for their life savings. Pearlman was caught by FBI agents in Bali, Indonesia while running from creditors and regulators. He was living under the false name, A. Incognito Johnson. He was expelled from the country and arrested in Guam. Incognito Johnson??? He sounds like he lowkey wanted to be caught. This guy was crooked as they come, but the late 90’s and early 2000’s wouldn’t have been the same without him… WireImage
