President Obama’s inaugural address took place just hours ago, but V.P. Joe Biden is already hinting that he wants to replace his boss. In 2016, that is. At a gathering of influential Iowans Saturday, the gaffe-prone Veep said, “I’m proud to be the president of the United States.” Joe Biden: Proud to Be President! Biden, who unsuccessfully sought the presidency in 1988 and 2008, will be 73 in 2016, making him the oldest person ever elected president. There’s also the matter of Hillary Clinton, Obama’s outgoing Secretary of State and the odds-on favorite for the Democratic nomination … if she runs. Clinton would be 69 and the second-oldest president elected (after Ronald Reagan), incidentally. Whether either actually runs is anyone’s guess. Still, here are other recent hints that Biden is thinking about it: 1. New Hampshire is influential. Among the 120 guests Biden invited to his swearing-in for a second term? New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan. 2. So is Iowa. It was at the Iowa State Society inauguration ball where he mistakenly said, “I’m proud to be president of the United States.” 3. On Election Day in November, Biden dismissed the notion that would be the last time he’d vote for himself. “No, I don’t think so,” he said. 4. Campaigning in October, Biden joked to a voter that, “after its all over, when your insurance rates go down, then you’ll vote for me in 2016.” 5. “There’s plenty of time to think about 2016,” he said last summer. “If three years from now the economy is not working, it’s not going to be worth doing much.” Or if could’ve just been a mistake when he made the above quote. When introducing V.P. candidate Paul Ryan last summer, Mitt Romney referred to him as “the next President of the United States” … which he still could be. What do you think? En route home from war, Prince Harry “can’t wait” to become an uncle this year and is “thrilled” Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting. “Obviously I’m thrilled for both of them,” he said, joking, “It’s about time.” In an interview in Afghanistan , where he served since September, the prince says he had chatted with the couple when their news was released. “I spoke to my brother and [Kate], and they’re both very well and both very happy obviously,” he says, expressing regret at how it came out. “I think it’s unfair that they were forced to publicize it when they were, but that’s the media for you,” Harry said, referring to Kate’s morning sickness. The royal family leaked the Kate Middleton pregnant bombshell due to her hospitalization; she was probably only 8-9 weeks along at the time. Harry’s remarks on the subject were given weeks ago, but were kept under wraps for security reasons, released now because he’s returning to the U.K. “I literally am very, very happy for them,” he says, “I just only hope that she and him – but mainly Catherine – hopefully that she gets the necessary protection.” Protection that will “allow her as a mother-to-be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with. I seriously hope that’s going to be able to happen.” Now that he’s back from his tour of duty, which followed the Prince Harry naked scandal, is there some pressure on him to follow his brother’s lead? “I don’t think you can ever be urged to settle down,” he says. “To find the right person where everything feels right, it takes time, especially for myself and my brother.” As he has hinted before, it is hard to find the right kind of woman who isn’t going to be scared off by everything else that goes with being with a royal. “You ain’t ever going to find someone who’s going to jump into the position that it would hold,” says the 28-year-old Prince of Wales. “Simple as that.” Harry was also named the World’s Hottest Bachelor recently, so that’s a positive for any potential suitors.
