GG Music: Eryn Allen Kane’s New Soulful Song “Feel The Need” Makes Love The Message

Source: (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images) / Getty Eryn Allen Kane is back at it again with a soulful track to inspire the masses. In preparation for an upcoming EP ,  Eryn has dropped her new single “Feel the Need.” Eryn shows off her vocal dexterity in the track with smooth notes and an emotional climax that boldly asks “don’t you feel the need for love?” You can check out the song for yourself below!   Eryn’s next musical efforts follow her widely celebrated EPs Aviary: Act I  in 2015 and Aviary: Act II  in 2016. Both projects were independently released and gained over 15 million streams and counting. With the two releases, Eryn gave us hints of her vocal prowess on tracks like “Have Mercy” and “How Many Times.” One of her biggest highlights also came when she was featured on a track with the one and only Prince.  And we all know Prince doesn’t work with everybody. The Purple One chose Eryn to be featured on his song “Baltimore,” dedicated to Freddie Gray and the 2015 Baltimore uprising. In an interview with Global Grind , Eryn described her experience working with Prince saying, “At first it was really scary, and then it became a thing where he [Prince] felt like an uncle.” Eryn also bumped creative heads with Chance the Rapper in Chicago before anyone really knew of his music. “I knew Chance before Sasha Go Hard or any other Chicago artists,” Eryn said. “We started doing music together and then it snowballed. Once you start doing music with one person in Chicago, the word kind of gets around.” Now two EPs and a Prince feature later, Eryn is ready to expand her territory. But she still hasn’t seemed to lose her down to earth vibes. When she announced the cover art for “Feel the Need” on Instagram, she said, “I didn’t have any good ideas for cover art so I searched through my phone and found this pic my mom sent me a while back…it fit. Wallah.”     Feels like the perfect match to us. Be sure to check out “Feel the Need” on Youtube and other streaming services listed here.

#BlackLivesMatter: A LIVID Marilyn Mosby Speaks About The Abuse She’s Suffered Trying To Prosecute Baltimore Police [Video]

Baltimore Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby Vents Frustration After Dropping Charges In Freddie Gray Case We can’t say we’re surprised , but we certainly are pissed off at the news today that the remaining Baltimore police officers charged with the death of Freddie Gray, will be absolved of all wrong-doing. Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby expressed her anger, disappointed, and also the physical threats she’s received since putting charges on all those b!t¢#azz cops. We feel you sista. We feel you. It’s disgusting that some of these cops are more concerned about the color of their uniform than the color of citizens’ blood. On the other side, Donald Trump opened his big stupid mouth to weigh-in on Mosby, Freddie Gray and the officers charged. Image via YouTube

Graphic & Difficult Footage To Watch: The Death Of Elliott Williams By Tulsa Pigs (Left To Suffer) [Video]

NYDailyNews : Elliott Earl Williams, a 37-year-old veteran who was critically injured and mentally ill, should’ve never been taken to an Oklahoma jail on Oct. 21, 2011. In fact, every local jail in America is woefully unprepared to handle men, women or children with severe mental illnesses or critical injuries. In instance after instance when those who are battling hardships are taken to jails instead of hospitals, criminal abuse, negligence and death are too often the result. Guards, who often lack college educations but who can slam doors shut with the best of them, are a bad excuse for doctors, nurses or mental health counselors. But we already knew this. Here we are, though — stuck in an endless cycle in which African Americans like Natasha McKenna, Jamaycheal Mitchell, Sandra Bland, Gynnya McMillen and Elliott Williams were taken to local jails alive and came out in body bags because of the inhumane indifference to their well-being. When we say “Black Lives Matter,” we utter the phrase because so many of their names and stories speak volumes about a system that often claims otherwise. After a painful day in which Williams was witnessed mumbling to himself, tearing up grass and dirt with his hands, talking out loud to God and randomly throwing food, it was obvious that he was having a mental health crisis. He told police he was suicidal when they arrived. They arrested him and took him to jail anyway. During the arrest, police were witnessed forcefully putting their knee into his spine. Elliott’s father, Earl, said that his son appeared to struggle to walk when they lifted him up and instead let his feet drag. That too, has been seen before. When Baltimore Police arrested Freddie Gray, he was witnessed by a dozen people screaming in pain and unable to move his feet. Baltimore law, like most cities, requires injured people to be taken to the hospital. What happened to Williams between that moment on Oct. 22 and the moment he died five days later is criminal. For days on end, Williams complained to anyone and everyone who would listen that he was critically injured and could no longer move his legs or anything at all below his neck. He urinated and defecated on himself. He writhed in pain and begged every guard and nurse there to take him seriously. They wrapped him garbage bags and dumped him in the shower, where he still did not move, face down in the shower. That was the first day. Morning, noon and night this continued. Nurses and staff put water just beyond his reach to see if he would move to get it. He didn’t. They still claimed he was faking it. On Oct. 23, Williams never moved. On Oct. 24, Williams never moved. On Oct. 25, Williams never moved. On Oct. 26, Williams never moved. On Oct. 27, Williams never moved. In fact, he never moved again, but appeared to have seizures. They claimed he faked them. He screamed for help, begging the staff to “cut it out of him,” and had arm movements that suggested a critical brain injury. Finally, on Oct. 27, officials dragged Williams’ limp body to a holding cell with a camera in it. That is the footage we have included here. Just watch his feet. For hours on end, they don’t move even an inch. Of course they don’t. He’s paralyzed. While there on the floor for hours, staff throw water at him, look at him, and continue to ignore the fact that they have a paralyzed man on the floor of their jail. NYDAILYNEWS.com

#JusticeForFreddieGray: Jury Selection For Alleged Killer Baltimore Cop William Porter Begins Today

The Jury Selection In The Freddie Gray Death Trial To Begin This Week After a long year of battling with police brutality, the trial of the 6 Baltimore officers who have been charged with the death of Freddie Gray is set to begin soon. There is no doubt that Nation will be waiting with bated breath as we await the verdict from 12 of the officer’s peers. Via NYDailyNews Six police officers were indicted in Gray’s death. Jury selection in the first trial begins Monday. A verdict will likely set the tone for the city: If Officer William Porter is acquitted there could be protests and possibly more unrest. A conviction could send shockwaves through the city’s troubled police department. “Everything is at stake. The future of the city is at stake,” Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said. Porter faces charges of assault, manslaughter, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office. He is accused of checking on Gray during several stops the van made during its 45-minute trip from the Gilmor Homes in Sandtown-Winchester, where Gray was arrested, to the Western District station house, where officers found Gray unresponsive and he was taken to a hospital. He died a week later. Gray was initially handcuffed. Later during his van ride, his legs were shackled and he was placed back in the van without a seatbelt, a violation of department policy, prosecutors have said. Porter is black. Two other officers are black and the three others are white. They will be tried separately beginning in January; their trials are expected to last until the spring. The Rodney King uprising is gonna look like a children’s carnival compared to Baltimore if the jury doesn’t come back with a “guilty” verdict for at least ONE of these cops. We’ll definitely be watching this trial VERY closely… Image via AP
