“I love them, I have deep companionship for them…” Woman Lives With 300 Rats A Florida woman is making headlines for letting her home become infested with her 300 pet rats. FoxCT reports: When you walk into Florine Brown’s house, it’s obvious something is wrong. Holes are in the furniture, a foul odor fills the air…and there’s rats…lots and lots of rats. Florine Brown, the homeowner said, “It got really out of control, but I still wanted to keep them.” Brown loves these rodents. She started with three back in 20-12…but they escaped and multiplied. Now there are around three hundred and you can find them behind every nook and cranny. Brown said, “I didn’t think of it as a big deal or a problem. I still don’t, but it really got out of hand.” A family member called local animal rescue groups, and little by little, they’re going to safely remove them. The process could take a month to complete. Brown said, “I love them. I have deep compassion for them.” Neighbors had tried to warn her to stop the rodents from mating. Sharron Fouratt said, “If you leave them loose and they breed quickly, you know that’s what happens.” Already about seventy rats have been removed in the past few days, but there’s a lot more work to do. Brown said, “I just want them to go to good homes.” And hopefully that will bring her life back to normal. Officials from rescue groups are working to capture the rats and find them new homes. Brown will not face any criminal charges for letting her home become infested. SMH….poor thang.
Only in Florida … Florida Man Throws Chair At Mailman Because He Didn’t Have Any Mail For Him Police arrested an Ocala man Monday accused of throwing broken furniture at a postal carrier because he didn’t have any mail for him. Via Ocala reports: Aaron Bernard Smith, 27, faces charges of burglary, battery and criminal mischief, according to an Ocala Police Department report. The mailman told Officer Kyle Drawdy that Smith approached the driver’s side of his truck in the 1600 block of Northeast 17th Street. The postal carrier said he tried explaining to Smith that the reason he did not receive any mail was because there was none for him. The mailman said Smith got angry and struck him with an open fist at least three times on the right arm. Smith, he said, then walked away from the vehicle, picked up a broken chair or stool and threw it at the mail truck, which is a 1991 Grumman LLV. It struck a left rear panel of the truck. Drawdy found Smith, and he admitted to the incident, according to the report. A witness told the officer she saw Smith strike the mailman and throw the furniture at the truck. Court records show Smith has been taken for mental health evaluation under the Baker Act twice, once in May, and once in January 2013. You can’t be serious!

So sad. Siblings Suffocate After Locking Themselves In Trunk Their death could have been prevented with proper supervision. According to Boston Globe: Dawn Powers carried a bouquet of flowers in her hands today when she walked up to the Chestnut Street home where two young siblings died Sunday when they locked themselves inside a hope chest. Powers said her daughter was a frequent playmate of 8-year-old Lexi Munroe, who was killed, along with her brother, Sean, 7, in what authorities believe was a stunning, tragic accident. “Two of the nicest kids,’’ said Powers, who said she was emotionally drained by the sudden loss of two children from her neighborhood. “It’s just devastating.’’ Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said the children were found inside a chest made by Lane Furniture of Virginia and that the chest was in a child’s bedroom in the split-entry home. “It has some type of locking mechanism that did not have the ability to be unlocked from the inside,’’ said Morrissey, adding the family were not the original buyers of the chest. “It was bought used.’’ Lane Furniture recalled 12 million chests in 1996 with lids that automatically latched shut when closed. Despite all the online chatter, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried are not throwing in the towel just yet … if they were ever even close to doing so. Des’ Twitter feed is basically a live streaming look at a couple who certainly appears to be happy, in love and touching each other as much as possible. A far cry from rumors that it’s already over or that they’re cracking under the pressure of going public after their unusual courtship on The Bachelorette . Desiree posted photos of herself and Chris playing volleyball over the weekend, Chris shirtless and putting together furniture, Chris’ poetry on the iPad, etc. She also mentioned treating themselves to massages. Safe to say that if this duo is going through hard times, they are masking it awfully aggressively. But is it possible – nay, likely at this point – that her obvious second choice Chris was still the best? And that she’s – gasp! – happier than ever, as advertised? Critics will say she’s overcompensating, trying too hard and going all in hoping Chris will replace Brooks in the end, when it’s destined to fail. Michelle chats about how she is portrayed on TV as well as saving Love & Hip Hop NY’s struggling ratings: “There’s a lot of them, but I think people are starting to see. You’d think I just pop off, but you don’t see I’ve had a full conversation with this individual. You just see me curse them out. You know it’s gotta be a villain every season. Somebody’s got to bring the ratings. It falls on me; I take it. It is what it is. But I think people need to understand that I’m not always angry. I’m very calm. My manager always says I’m the most giving person out of any artist that he’s ever met. I will do anything for anybody.” K. Michelle says fans will finally get to see “the real” her: “No, you see the angry me, but this show is more my move to New York. Like, I’m just getting in my house this week in New York.
