Last night on Bachelor Pad, after the dust settled from ABC blindsiding Michael Stagliano and handing him a $125,000 parting gift, Ben Flajnik was formally introduced as the handsome, leading man of the upcoming season of The Bachelor . The California winemaker proposed to Ashley Hebert on the The Bachelorette finale, only to be rebuffed. Next time around, he’ll be doling out the roses. The new season kicks off January 2. It’s official. November 18, 2011 will the final Live with Regis and Kelly. The last with 80-year-old Regis Philbin at the helm, anyway. They could keep his name in the title, although that would just be plain misleading. As for who will step in for Reg, who has made his intentions of stepping down clear for months now, no one seems to have the slightest idea. Regis is outta here in a little more than two months . Young women across the nation may fantasize about him shirtless, but Taylor Lautner has a fantasy of his own. “Winning an Oscar is the ultimate dream,” the actor tells Seventeen . “A lot of amazing actors go their whole career without even being nominated. So that would definitely be a goal to reach. It’s a difficult one, but I’m aiming for it!” In the meantime, Lautner will have to be satisfied with his yearly victory in THG’s unofficial Best Use of a Six-Pack contest. Taylor will next be seen in Abduction , which comes out on September 23 and co-stars Lily Collins . Says the handsome star’s of his girlfriend: “You can feel some sort of chemistry of a connection when you are reading a script with someone for the first time. And that was totally the case with Lily.”

Paris Hilton celebrated her 29th day of birth Las Vegas-style Saturday night, with her handsome, boy toy accessory Doug Reinhardt right by her side as usual. The socialite strutted down the red carpet before heading into her party (don’t we all) in a white Preen dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Chanel earrings. Those were a gift from Doug, natch. While there was no news of an engagement ring, Hilton gushed of her love for The Hills star (and ex of Lauren Conrad ) while chatting it up with reporters. Asked if the couple was ready to walk down the aisle, Hilton actually did not drop hints for once, demurring with: “We’ll see what happens in the future.” Doug and Paris celebrate her 29th year on this planet. “Right now we are so happy to be together and are really in love,” she said.
