VIDEO: The Greatest Movie Title Sequences, Together at Last

So as we noted , SXSW goes beyond the basic Audience and Jury prizes and also doles out honors in categories like Poster Design and Title Sequence. At the screening honoring finalists in the latter category, juror Ian Albinson put together this nifty video, A Brief History of Title Design . While it’s by no means comprehensive, the montage is breezy and well-edited. Also, it ends with the undisputed champion of all title sequences. That said, I think Jean-Luc Godard’s giant, colorful titles should have gotten props here. What else is missing?

Witchy Women: Has Summit Found Its Next Twilight?

Summit Entertainment still has the final two installments of The Twilight Saga to bring in untold fortunes , but that doesn’t mean the studio isn’t thinking ahead. The Los Angeles Times reports that Summit is looking to make The Last Witch Hunter its next big franchise. The script — about a man who hunts witches and warlocks — was on the Black List in 2010, and the studio has apparently met with Breck Eisner to discuss directing. No casting yet — though Vin Diesel has reportedly expressed interest — but expect Charlie Sheen to throw his hat in the ring soon. Dude is a real-life warlock hunter. [ LAT /24 Frames ]
