Alexis Wright Client List Released By Police

The names of 21 people accused of purchasing sex from Maine Zumba instructor Alexis Wright have been released, and “The List” is hitting her small town hard. Police released Alexis Wright’s client list – or part of it anyway – earlier today. The 29-year-old had been operating a prostitution ring out of her Kennebunk, Me., Zumba studio along with her partner, 57-year-old Mark Strong Sr., officials say. Wright also recorded her dalliances with clients – 100 hours’ worth of video. A judge determined the identities of those involved in the case would be made public. Wright’s list does not include any of the ages and addresses of those named. “The principle that court proceedings are public is essential to public confidence,” the judge explained. “If persons charged with crimes could withhold their identities, the public would not be able to monitor proceedings to observe whether justice has been done,” he added. The controversial release of Wright’s clients’ identities is central to the public’s ability “to observe whether certain defendants may have received favored treatment.” According to Strong’s lawyer Dan Lilley, the full list includes 150 names. They all will be made public at a later date. Lilly claims that people Alexis Wright has serviced include lawyers, accountants and even a local TV personality. Wright, 29, pleaded not guilty in Portland to 106 counts of prostitution, violation of privacy, tax evasion and other charges for allegedly providing sex for money. She opened her Pura Vida fitness studio in 2010 teaching Zumba, a Latin-inspired fitness program that combines aerobics and dance, about 25 miles south of Portland. Soon after, she was suspected of running a prostitution ring. Police began investigating after hearing reports of cars coming to the studio and the office at all hours of the day and night and men going in for a half-hour or hour at a time. The landlord who rented the office space to Wright told investigators one of his tenants sometimes heard “moaning and groaning” coming from Wright’s office. When the landlord checked the office himself, he found a massage table and a video camera on a tripod. He also found an online porn clip of Wright filmed there. He called the police, who busted Wright and Strong.

Bethenny Frankel on Suicide of Russell Armstrong: Don’t Blame Bravo!

Bethenny Frankel may soon be leaving Bravo , but she’s still quick to defend the network. Asked about the suicide of Russell Armstrong and whether The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills could be blamed for the tragedy, this reality star scoffed at the mere mention of such liability. “It’s preposterous to blame a TV show for someone’s suicide,” Bethenny told USA Today . “When the show started filming, I’d heard he wasn’t so kind to his wife.” Whatever problems Russell had, and whatever exposure they’d be given on the Real Housewives, Frankel says the troubled man knew what was in store for him before a single frame was shot: “People sign very lengthy documents and they know what they’re getting into. Life is stressful. It’s unfair to blame a TV show for something personal. I believe that I really do.” In one of his final interviews, Armstrong railed against the show that made him famous, citing its editing process and how he’s nothing like the person viewers saw each week. Bravo will premiere season two of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Monday night.

Audrina Patridge Admits: I Have a Chest Problem

This is difficult for Audrina Patridge to talk about, but she knows she must lead the charge for others in a similar predicament. When asked in a recent interview if she’s undergone plastic surgery, the former Hills star came clean: she has a chest problem. “Look at the pictures,” Audrina said of the accusations. “I fluctuate in weight a lot. And as far as my face, I’d never had anything done.” What about any kind of breast enhancement? “Well,” Patridge paused. “See I have this chest problem. My bone right here, it’s higher on this side? It’s pectoralis something. So I’ve always struggled with that. You could see they look different sizes all the time.” Go ahead and study our collection of Audrina Patridge photos , folks. See for yourself. Then, take up a collection for this poor young lady. She’s really struggling. [Photo: WENN.com]

Dr. Keith Ablow to Parents: Don’t Applaud for Chaz Bono!

Lacey Schwimmer is on his side . So is Elisabetta Canalis . But there’s at least one person who would vote Chaz Bono off Dancing with the Stars right now if he could: Dr. Keith Ablow. Not everyone finds Chaz Bono’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars to be funny. Referring to Bono’s presence on the show as “toxic,” the psychiatrist has written an editorial for Fox News which reads: I advise parents to not allow their children to watch the episodes in which Chaz appears. The last thing vulnerable children and adolescents need, as they wrestle with the normal process of establishing their identities, is to watch a captive crowd in a studio audience applaud on cue for someone whose search for an identity culminated with the removal of her breasts, the injection of steroids and, perhaps one day soon, the fashioning of a make-shift phallus to replace her vagina. Chaz Bono should not be applauded for asserting she is a man (and goes about trying to look like one) any more than a woman who believes she will be happier without arms, has them removed and then continues to assert that she was right all along—her self-concept was that of a double amputee. Now, all is well. Chaz Bono should not be applauded any more than someone who, tragically, believes that his species, rather than gender, is what is amiss and asks a plastic surgeon to build him a tail of flesh harvested from his abdomen. If only a plastic surgeon would acquiesce, all would be well. In the end, Dr. Ablow believes Chaz should be “empathized with” and treated with “dignity,” just not applauded. It’s a stance that is sure to create controversy. Where do you stand on it?

Panic! At The Disco Explain ‘The Overture,’ Prep For Vices & Virtues Release

Their mini-movie is out now; their new album is in stores Tuesday. By James Montgomery Panic! at the Disco Photo: MTV News Panic! at the Disco officially return Tuesday with Vices & Virtues, their first album in three years and the first since the departure of Ryan Ross and Jon Walker . But, of course, if you’re a fan, you probably already knew both of those things. What fans may not know is the message behind “The Overture,” the mini-movie teaser the band posted earlier this month. Opening with a scene of frontman Brendon Urie telling two shadowy specters — who most assume represent Ross and Walker — “I’m gonna miss you guys … looks like we’re going to have to part ways” and featuring Panic! and a host of fantastical characters embarking on a journey (to points unknown), most seem to assume the clip represents the band putting their past to bed and heading out into the future. And while those assumptions are (in part) correct, the way Urie and drummer Spencer Smith see it, “The Overture” (and, really, most of Vices & Virtues ) is about something else entirely: the obstacles they overcame just to make it to this point. “I guess the entire theme to be covered in a word would be ‘perseverance.’ It’s really learning to drop your baggage and keep pressing forward with what you want to do. And having the passion but also the perseverance,” Urie told MTV News. “So we’re gathering up people [and] we’re not really sure where we’re going, and how it’s going to be, how the trip’s going to be, but that’s not the point. You never really know how it’s going to end up, and that was important for us to get that message out, too, because we’ve learned that in the past couple of years.” While Urie and Smith were mum about the identities of those two darkened figures at the beginning of the video, it’s safe to speculate that they are, in fact, Ross and Walker. But they also represent basically everything Panic! at the Disco has had to endure ever since they burst onto the scene in 2005 with A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out — the labels, the gossip and, yes, the almost-breakup. Because, like everything the band does these days, they’re parting ways with the past. “[The figures are] mostly a metaphor [for] that idea of what we thought we were in the past, learning to just let that go and pushing forward with the ideas we knew we wanted to do for this record,” Urie said. Meet the Most Dangerous Man in Cyberspace: The American Behind Wikileaks

In the spring of this year, before Wikileaks unleashed a flood of secret U.S. government documents, Rolling Stone met with “hacktivist” Jacob Appelbaum, a volunteer for the organization and a die-hard true believer in freedom of speech and personal privacy. Reporter Nathaniel Rich learned about Appelbaum's troubled childhood, his first forays into activism — in 2005, he set up unauthorized satellite internet connections in Iraq and, right after Hurricane Katrina, in one of New Orleans's poorest neighborhoods — and his growth into a global force for his beliefs. Appelbaum is the public face of Tor Project, an organization that, by introducing intermediaries between computers, is used to prevent some of the world's most repressive regimes from tracking activists' movements online. Dissidents from China, Tunisia and a suspected high-level member of the Iranian military have used it to protect their identities. While Appelbaum's work for Tor has been substantial, more notorious is his extensive work for Wikileaks. “Jake has been a tireless promoter behind the scenes of our cause,” founder Julian Assange said. The Wikileaks controversy has led Appelbaum to go underground, using Tor to protect himself and evade surveillance. He's set about living a life of anonymity, one where his mail is sent to a private drop, he pays rent in cash, and he doesn't enter his home address into any computer. “You can never take that information back once it's out there,” he said. “And it takes very little information to ruin a person's life.” http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/gear-up/blogs/November29/239095/238012 added by: ras_menelik
