Kim Kardashian: Please Don’t Hate Me for Meeting with Trump!

Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian did a good deed. And it didn’t have anything to do with gratuitous nudity, believe it or not. Nope, while Kim usually brightens the world with selfies or fashion or mindless reality television trash, she used her powers for good by going to the White House to meet with Donald Trump about a woman named Alice Johnson. You probably know the details on this already — the story and the photo of Kim meeting Trump were pretty widely mocked. But just in case you missed it, Alice Johnson is a 63-year-old grandma who was sentenced to life in prison without parole for non-violent drug charges — her first arrest, even — all the way back in 1996. Kim took an interest in Alice, who was obviously unbelievably failed by the justice system, and she used her voice to help take the issue directly to the president. It worked: Trump granted Alice clemency, and she was released from prison on Wednesday . After hearing the good news, Kim tweeted that she was “grateful” to Trump, Jared Kushner, and to everyone who helped achieve the goal, because “her commutation is inspirational and gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance.” “I hope to continue this important work by working together with organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition,” she added. So that’s really nice, right? It was weird to see Kim at the White House with Donald Trump who is somehow still the president , of course, but it’s an undeniably good thing that Alice Johnson was able to be released. But still, lots and lots of people have been mocking Kim for what happened, and she acknowledges that in a new interview she did with Van Jones. For one, she admitted she was starstruck — not by Trump, but by the White House itself. “I never get starstruck,” she said. “I was starstruck over the Oval Office … It really felt powerful, and felt like, you can just feel the history in there.” “I just took a second to take it all in, and then we talked about it.” As for Trump, she explained that he told her that the situation with Alice “just isn’t fair,” and that “he knew that this is the right thing to do, and he said that from the start after he had heard her whole story and situation and he knew it was the right thing to do.” When it was mentioned to her that many other celebrities have been avoiding the White House these days, she said that “Kanye’s already given him legitimacy … you know, in that way.” Yeah, he has . Kim didn’t think she would be “used” in any kind of weird way for her celebrity, but “at the end of the day, he heard me out. We got the job done.” “I juat have to stay focused, and I have to know that if he is the only person in the world that could have done this for her, why wouldn’t I go talk to that person, if I had the opportunity to?” she asked. “Forget about my fears. Forget about my life. That was the right thing to do.” That’s actually pretty admirable, right? View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian Meets with Donald Trump (And Twitter Can’t Handle It) She’s been open about her dislike of Trump and his platforms and his ideals and pretty much everything he stands for, and we’ve heard several times that she struggles with how much Kanye likes him . So after all that, she still met with Trump, despite knowing how hard she’d be mocked and ridiculed, because Trump was the person who could help Alice, and she knew that was more important than her own image. We’re proud of you, Kimmie!

Nursery Rhyme Prepares Children to Hide During School Shootings

This may send chills down your spine. It should. A woman tweeted about a horrifying poem — written to a hauntingly familiar tune — that she saw posted on the wall of her child’s future classroom. It’s to prepare for lockdowns in the event of a school shooting. On Tuesday, June 5, Somerville Schools posted on Facebook: “Tomorrow is Kindergarten Transition Day, when incoming Kindergarteners spend he day visiting their new school and learning about Kindergarten.” That is not uncommon for schools, especially elementary schools that have any sort of partnership with specific pre-K programs or facilities. Parents come in for a sort of open house experience. At some of these events, preschoolers who are soon to be rising kindergarteners are able to see and visualize their future. Everything is so new when you are 4 or 5 years old, so being able to see a classroom in advance can make your future less daunting. Unfortunately, the experience caused quite a fright for a parent after she saw this hanging in a classroom. To the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” or “The ABC Song,” or “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” read: “Lockdown, lockdown, lock the door.” Yikes. “Shut the lights off, say no more.” A chorus of children’s voices singing this sounds like the intro to a horror movie. “Get behind the desk and hide. Wait until it’s safe inside.” Holy f–k. “Lockdown, lockdown, it’s all done. Now it’s time to have some fun.” Awful. Some commenters tried to comment that this might be for tornado drills, too. But it is not. Tornado drills send children into hallways, and do not require turning off the lights or remaining silent. This is to prepare children to hide and fear for their lives in the event of a shooting. Georgy Cohen, the mother who shared the image, which of course went viral as people saw it and blanched with horror, wrote: “This should not be hanging in my soon-to-be-kindergartener’s classroom.” Referring to her child as “Z,” which is a tasteful way of discussing your child in a public space, Cohen says: “Yeah. They already do the drills in pre K. Z was excited about it as a game to see if you can stay quiet for ‘one whole minute.'” To children, death is usually an abstract concept. And it very much should be. For parents and other adults, who can fully understand the creeping dread of a society that allows its most vulnerable citizens to be in so much danger on a daily basis, this really hits home. To be clear, she is not in any way condemning the school or the teacher who wrote the song. “I’m only going to add one more comment to this:” As you can imagine, her mentions on Twitter were blowing up. “The school is doing exactly what they need to be doing, and I am glad for it.” A rhyming song with a familiar tune is great for teaching children to remember simple instructions. “My issue is with the political & cultural factors that brought us to this sad state.” Yep . She specifically refers to America’s gun culture and the lack of political action. “Please talk to your legislators about the need for gun reform.” The tweet’s viral popularity was astonishing. This rhyme was a real shock to the system — which is good, because these horrors should never be normalized. Many people who have a tweet blow up try to garner attention to a personal passion, such as their SoundCloud. Cohen writes: “So I don’t have a SoundCloud but I, like most of you, have congressional representatives I can call to advocate for gun reform https://www. callmycongress.com /   Or we can support orgs like @Everytown and @SandyHook.” That is sound advice. The whole world has been horrified by these shootings. Regular folks and celebrities alike. View Slideshow: Real Housewives Stars React to Las Vegas Shootings

Ho Sit Down And STFU: Kellyanne Conway Says Post Massacre She’s “Really Happy During Times Like This “Trump Is Prez

SplashNews Kellyanne Conway Says Liberal Finger Pointers Make Her Happy To Have Trump In White House Following Mass Shootings The cabinet of crazies continues to outdo themselves. After this weekend’s mass shooting claimed the lives of 26 innocent people , we saw a lot of public outrage, especially on social media. Innocent people go to church on Sunday to honor their God, and while doing so, get shot in killed. What country? America. Why? Republicans. — Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler) November 5, 2017 Chelsea Handler was especially vocal, blaming Republicans for their failure to put more effective gun control measures in place. I don't know how these poor people are supposed to accept that their government watches these mass shootings and does nothing. It's so sick. — Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler) November 6, 2017 But Donald Trump’s favorite butt wiper was too enthralled with siding with the Chief Cheetoh to realize she sounds like a hollowheaded ho bag when she says stuff like “I’m so happy” after a MASS SHOOTING To be fair, she was saying she’s happy that Trump doesn’t blame guns or how easy it is for crazy people to find guns to kill people, but instead just blames crazy people and liberals who are “too lazy” to help (because liberals can pass gun control legislature and fund mental healthcare without the help of Republicans riiiiiight)… SMH.

Racist Ex-Mayor Rudy Giuliani Tells MSNBC That Black Children Are “The Real Danger”

Ex-Mayor and Former Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani Calls Back Children “The Real Danger” According to New York Daily News , on Thursday former mayor Rudy Giuliani sat down with MSNBC’s Brian Williams to discuss the lives that were lost this week due to police violence . He used his interview to address the shootings of police in Dallas. He stated: “Let’s teach everyone including the children of the black community that most of those police officers are the reason you’re alive.” He added, “Because the real danger to you is that black kid who is going to shoot you on the street because that happens many, many more times than police officers. Lets talk about it honestly. When you talk about Black Lives Matter, the black young boy who’s killed by another black young boy is just as dead as the black young boy killed by the police officer,” he told Williams, adding that protests lead to “divisiveness and anti-police rhetoric.” This is what our political figures think of African American children… This is why we your vote counts!

GTFOHWTBS: Presidential Wannabe GOP Goon Rick Perry Calls Charleston Church Shooting “An Accident”

Jeb Bush, Chris Christie And Rick Perry Avoid Talking Gun Control Or Race After Charleston Shooting It should come as little to no surprise that the Republican candidates for President are poorly equipped to deal with matters of race or gun violence. Via NY Daily News reports : Jeb Bush and Chris Christie mourned the murders in Charleston without blaming lax gun laws or discussing race Friday while addressing an audience of religious conservatives. And potential presidential candidate Rick Perry, the former Texas governor, referred to the murders as an “accident” — though his spokeswoman said he intended to say “incident.” Perry, in an interview with the conservative publication Newsmax, criticized President Obama and other liberals’ “”knee-jerk reaction of saying ‘if we can just take all the guns away this won’t happen.’” At the Faith & Freedom Coalition in Washington, Christie declared that the shootings were “depraved” and “unthinkable” before suggesting that tighter gun control could not have prevented the shootings. “Laws can’t change this, only the goodwill and the love of the American people can let those folks know that that act was unacceptable, disgraceful,” he said, calling on people to pray for the families of the dead. In his remarks, Bush said initially that he didn’t know what motivated Dylann Storm Roof. “”I don’t know what was on the mind or the heart of the man who committed these atrocious crimes,” Bush said, adding: “In times like these, in times of great national mourning, people of faith, all of us must come together.” He did not mention guns. Roof made it clear during his shooting spree on Wednesday that he was there to kill black people. In appearances Thursday at the convention, Sens. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, other leading Republican presidential candidates, also avoided blaming guns. This is some BS… We can’t allow another Bush to set foot anywhere near the White House. And isn’t Rick Perry the one who used to vacation by the place with the N-Word nickname?
