His spot at the top has felt like the general consensus among fans for a while now, but it didn’t become cemented until Harden was announced as the MVP during the NBA Awards on Monday night. This is the point guard’s first MVP award, despite finishing second twice in his career before. Beyond that, his win marked a first in NBA history. Harden’s former Thunder teammate, Russell Westbrook , was the NBA MVP winner in the 2016-17 season, while his other former teammate, Kevin Durant , won MVP for the 2013-14 season. All three players were drafted by the Thunder in consecutive seasons — which makes the first time three different players drafted by a franchise in consecutive years have been named MVP. After believing he should have won Most Valuable Player last year but coming away empty-handed, Harden chose not to prepare a speech this time– So when the Rockets star finished off an amazing season by walking away with the game’s top individual honor, he was most definitely flabbergasted. He was the fourth player to average at least 30 points per game and help lead his team to 65 wins, joining the likes of Stephen Curry , Michael Jordan (twice) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar . James Harden Reveals Downside Of Dating Khloe Kardashian James Harden is single and mingling out here, but still has some residual thoughts about his 2015/2016 relationship with the NBA’s favorite Kardashian . Without naming names, Harden went into the fiasco that was his whirlwind romance with Khloe during his latest interview with Sports Illustrated and revealed what it was that ultimately weighed him down most and lended itself to the end of the relationship. Harden says he learned the hard way that dealing with a woman’s whose entire career is based on attention is draining, to say the very least. Basically, he couldn’t get with being photographed and followed for no reason other than walking around with this person on his arm: “I didn’t like all the attention… I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn’t getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don’t need that. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t me. I don’t need pictures of myself when I’m driving my car. Who cares? What shoes am I wearing? Who cares? Where am I eating? Who cares? It was unnecessary stuff that I think trickled down to my teammates. I had to eliminate that.” As we all know, Khloe has moved on with yet another ball player . As Kevin Durant and James Harden were defeated by the Warriors, Lil B sat down for an interview with ESPN’s SportsNation to talk about the infamous curse. He first mentions that if Durant leaves the Oklahoma City Thunder, the curse will follow him before naming who else is on his list.
