“Black Thought” what a joke. Change “Black” to “White” and everyone's in an uproar. F this PC crap. — Drunk Injun Chief (@ThorsTool) December 15, 2017 Mayo Packets Mad At Black Thought Black Thought of the Roots has been a hip hop staple for three decades with no problem. The whole time he’s been one of the best rappers out, and he’s even on Jimmy Fallon’s show every night. However, when he ripped his freestyle for an orgasmic Funk Flex and started trending, MAGAs got really confused. They wanted to know why Black Thought was trending and instead of even searching they started snow flaking all over the timeline. when race trolls see black thought trending and dont realize that its a person pic.twitter.com/YptNtgfUcw — Open Mike Eagle (@Mike_Eagle) December 15, 2017 So you know what time it is…let’s laugh at all of them! Stay mad…

Jimmy Fallon’s Mother Has Passed Away

Jimmy Fallon and his loved ones are in mourning. The comedian sadly lost his mother, Gloria, on Saturday, one day after NBC canceled a taping of The Tonight Show due to a Fallon family emergency. Said a spokesperson for the talk show host and his relatives: “Jimmy Fallon’s mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday. “Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. “Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time.” Gloria was 68 years old. It’s unclear whether she had been ill for a long period of time, but at least Fallon was able to be with his mother at the time of her passing. On Friday, Variety reported that NBC had cancelled the Tonight Show’s scheduled taping due to “a private Fallon family matter.” In its place, the network ran an episode that had originally aired in September. According to IMDB, Gloria made two appearances on her son’s show over the years. Fallon keeps his private life mostly private, but he did open up about his mother at times over the years. Just this past June, he revealed to Howard Stern that Gloria used to be a nun. A month before that, he shared a memory about Gloria as part of a “#MomQuotes” segment for the talk show. “My mom and I were talking on the phone for the third time that day and she actually said, ‘We don’t talk enough,’ ” he tweeted at the time. We send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to Fallon and his family. It’s unclear if Fallon will resume taping The Tonight Show next week, but he should obviously take as long as he needs to mourn. May Gloria Fallon rest in peace. Desus And Mero Are The Best Medicine For All Of Life’s Ailments

Original post:

Source: Taylor Hill / Getty Desus Nice and The Kid Mero came from the mud; but their crazy come-up story doesn’t even scratch the surface of why they are not only so likable, but prevalent in today’s world inundated with commentary. With social media, everybody with a phone can–and usually does–put in their 2 cents on everything that comes across their screen. It becomes hard to weed out what consumers themselves actually want to see, and whose takes are important enough to seek out on the regular. Though Desus and Mero got their start as those same social media warriors, they’ve risen to boast resumes that include their TV show (already renewed for a second season)  Desus & Mero , their weekly Redbull-sponsored podcast The Bodega Boys , a sold-out line of merchandise, and a plethora of live appearances throughout the US and Canada both at huge comedy festivals and on their own headlining bills. Because these Bronx, NY natives’ claim to their most mainstream fame is a late night television show, a logical comparison would be to the other players in that genre like Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel . The truth remains, however, that with a network like Viceland and personalities like Desus and Mero, the only place their show compares to the others is on paper. Featuring both smaller guests and people like Diddy , and almost completely off-the-dome narrations, the only gripe most viewers have with the show is that it should be longer than half an hour. The most refreshing part of watching these two is the stark contrast from the political correctness of a show on a major network. Hosts like Jimmy Fallon and James Corden saw endless backlash over humanizing Donald Trump and his former press secretary Sean Spicer , and that’s something fans of Desus and Mero never have to worry about. Though they’ve mentioned many times before (possibly in jest) that they can’t wait to be sell-outs later on in their career–we all have our price!–the compromising of their own ideals would make the entire shtick they’ve mastered obsolete. Fans who have had the pleasure of seeing this rise to stardom from their Twitter roots, to their year-long stint on Complex while they  juggled their day jobs, have no choice but to be die-hards. No matter how big Desus and Mero get in their career, they’ll always maintain an intimate fan relationship that feels like those same underground podcasters you heroically put all of your friends onto. In a world that’s growing more cynical as each day passes, it’s important to find and champion those who help you get through those days–and Desus and Mero continue to be the best medicine for all of life’s ailments.

Jimmy Fallon vs. James Corden: Unexpected Feud Alert!

The late night network landscape is positively overrun by Jameses these days. Sure, Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers enjoyed bumps due to their election coverage, but they may have to photoshop their birth certificates if they want to continue to compete. (Come to think of it, America seems primed for a late night birther controversy, at the moment!) Kimmel, of course, is the O.G. Jimmy (We suppose that should be the O. J ., but we can’t do that to the man.), having held down his time slot on ABC since back in 2003. Next came Fallon, beginning with a 12:30 spot on NBC in 2009, and taking over the revered Tonight Show at 11:30 in 2014. Late to the party (Or should we say late, late to the party?) was James Corden, who took over The Late, Late Show last year. Corden seemed an odd choice at first, as he was a virtual unknown to American audiences and he doesn’t tell jokes, so much as he … drives around and sings songs with celebrities? We don’t really get his appeal, but against all odds, the self-deprecating Brit has found himself an audience. But like the Beatles before him, Corden isn’t content to just croon a few bars for a notoriously fickle demo. No, sources say he wants to launch a full-scale invasion, and he’s got his sights set on everyone’s favorite king of party games and hair-tousling : Yes, according to Radar Online, Corden thinks Fallon is vulnerable, not because of his controversial softball interview with Donald Trump , but because of the other well-publicized issue that’s given Jimmy more than his share of press headaches. Rumors about Fallon’s drinking problem have plagued the beloved comic for years. Sources say his boozing has resulted in injuries (including two falls that resulted in hospitalizations), problems at home, and frequent friction with his bosses. NBC execs issued a statement on Fallon’s drinking  back in January and claimed they had no real concerns, but many remain unconvinced. And where NBC might see a potential crisis, Corden reportedly sees an opportunity. “He sees Jimmy as a loose cannon and it’s just a matter of time before he screws up,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “They couldn’t be more polar opposites — James lives a sober life off-camera and is careful about not partying with his staff.” The insider adds that Corden is hungry for an 11:30 time slot, and he sees Fallon as being far less reliable than his own network’s Colbert –  a trait he believes will eventually lead NBC to seek new talent elsewhere. “James has every intention of knocking Fallon off his pedestal when the time is right and he’s playing a slow and studied game to make it happen,” says the source. “James studies Jimmy’s program to make sure they haven’t copied his funniest bits, while Jimmy tends to crash James’ interviews at events.” Frankly, if this is really Mr. Corden’s plan, we think he’s out of luck. Not only will NBC put up with all manner of Fallon shenanigans so long as his ratings remain steady, Corden isn’t the only backup looking for a chance to start. Looks like for now, James should probably just stay in his lane – the carpool lane.
