Rodney Atkins Divorce Details: All About Safety

We have an update on the ugly Rodney Atkins situation. As previously reported, the country singer was arrested last month on a charge of domestic violence that included trying to smother his wife with a pillow , an allegation Atkins denies. Now, TMZ has obtained the divorce documents between Rodney and Tammy Atkins and they at least prove the couple can agree on something. Both sides acknowledge they are “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife,” while each says the other is “guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper.” Tammy is asking for sole custody of the pair’s 10-year old son (who she also says witnessed his dad’s attack), along with alimony and child support payments. The judge has agreed on a restraining order for the time being, barring Rodney and Tammy from “harassing, threatening, assaulting or abusing the other party.” That seems like a start.

The Bachelor Spoilers 2012: Scandals, Final Four, Winner Revealed!

It’s that time of year again. Ben Flajnik is gearing up to dole out the roses beginning January 2, and like clockwork, The Bachelor spoilers are already swirling. Get ready for another wild season of skinny dipping, cat fighting, cursing (more than usual in that area) and people coming on the show for the wrong reasons. Pour the wine (a California varietal, if you please) and grab the tissues, because this is going to be the most intense, talked-about season of The Bachelor EVER! No fewer than 25 women are waiting to throw themselves at Ben, but who will advance to the coveted hometown dates, and who is he engaged to at the end? Thanks to Reality Steve , Bachelor soothsayer extraordinaire, a man who comes through even in the face of potential litigation, we can likely these questions. Ready to learn the identities (with photos!) of the alleged final four women this season, as well as the winner of Ben Flajnik’s heart and a Neil Lane ring? Follow the jump for The Bachelor spoilers galore … Nicky Sterling: A divorced dental hygienist “who likes to drink Coors Light and get her party on,” she brings Ben back to her hometown of Hurst, Texas. Lindzi Cox: A native of Ocala, Fla., she makes quite a first impression on Ben. Like Puss in Boots and the Old Spice Guy, she’s on a horse! First impression rose? Hers. Courtney Robertson: The Scottsdale, Ariz., product is an international model with pictures all over the Internet, and even has a national ad for Caesar’s Palace on TV. In addition, Court is reportedly disliked by the others in the house from the get-go, swears like a sailor and went skinny dipping with Ben in Puerto Rico. Hot stuff! Kacie Boguskie: Got to show off her baton twirling skills when she had the first date of the season in Sonoma, then took Ben home to beautiful Clarksville, Tenn. Sadly for Kacie, she gets bounced after the hometown dates. Rough. The final three – Nicky, Lindzi, and Courtney – jet off to Switzerland for overnight dates. The trip to Europe is depicted, along with much more, in this preview: The Bachelor 2012 Preview Nicky is eliminated after the overnights, leaving Lindzi and Courtney. The final rose ceremony took place Wednesday, November 16 at a Swiss mountain location so remote, both girls arrived at the rose ceremony via helicopter. So with Lindzi Cox and Courtney Robertson to choose from, Ben Flajnik had his pick of polar opposites … and naturally chose the often-controversial model. Yes, Ben Flajnik is engaged to Courtney Robertson. As of right now. Will it last? That remains to be seen, although we don’t have to tell you about this franchise’s abysmal track record. Congratulations in any case, you kids! Some other highlights of the coming season, according to Steve: Shawntel (‘memba her?) returns for one night only! Casey Shteamer, one of the contestants, had a boyfriend back home in Michael Patak, who was reportedly not pleased about her going on the show. What resulted from this is unclear, but there are rumors that producers found out. Samantha Leavy, Miss Pacific Palisades 2011, fell for married producer Bennett Graebner. Nothing happened during filming, but she fell for him, asked off the program, was talked into staying, and later eliminated in Utah. That’s it for now! We’ll update this page as more info becomes available throughout the season, and/or if anything changes. Check back with us early and often. What do you think of The Bachelor spoilers above? Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Drops At Midnight After VMAs

Weezy’s VMA performance and nominations lead up to the long-awaited release on Sunday night. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne Photo: Clinton Gilders/ FilmMagic Lil Wayne is going to dabble in a little midnight madness. Already scheduled to perform at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Weezy has just announced that he’ll also be dropping his highly anticipated new album, Tha Carter IV, at midnight, right after the show. “I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others,” Lil Wayne said in a press statement. The YMCMB rapper’s latest will be released digitally via iTunes, Amazon and other legal MP3 download destinations at 12 a.m. on August 29. Those still dedicated to physical CDs need not worry since the album will be in retail stores later that Monday. The release of Tha Carter IV will be the capstone to a big night for Weezy, who is also up for Moonmen in the Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration categories. And despite Wayne’s skateboarding accident over the weekend (he tweeted that he needed nine stitches for a gash over his eye), he is sure to take the Nokia Theatre stage by storm this week. “The MTV Video Music Awards are one of the most watched and respected shows in the industry,” Ronald “Slim” Williams, CEO of Cash Money Records, said in a statement. “Wayne is one of the most respected and prolific artists in the industry. By pairing the release of Tha Carter IV with the VMAs, it will certainly add to the overall anticipation and excitement for fans everywhere for what will surely be an unforgettable evening.” With Jay-Z and Kanye West throwing a wrench into traditional album-release strategies with their Watch the Throne project, Lil Wayne has chosen to make his own release an event by coinciding with another. “Lil Wayne continues to change the game; this time with a new release strategy that demonstrates the power of the VMAs to grab the attention of music fans,” MTV President Stephen Friedman said. “After our millions of viewers experience the VMAs, they can go online at midnight and download the album they’ve all been waiting for.” Tha Carter IV ‘s latest single is “She Will” and will feature appearances from, T-Pain, Tech N9ne, Rick Ross, John Legend, Jadakiss, Nas and Busta Rhymes, among others. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. ‘Ghost Rider 2’ Trailer: An Expert Analysis

‘Spirit of Vengeance’ sneak peek has MTV Movies team excited for what’s to come from the Nicolas Cage superhero. By Eric Ditzian and Josh Wigler “Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance” Photo: Columbia Pictures The “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” trailer popped up online late last week, and what else is there to say about it other than Nicolas Cage closes out the new footage by pissing fire? Well, it turns out there’s a heck of a lot left to say, which is why the MTV Movies team jumped into the comic book action for an expert commentary. The trailer begins sweetly, with a score reminiscent of “Lost” and some epic title cards: “He fought the curse … evil will force him … to face his demon.” But any wacky notion that directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who also helmed the “Crank” films, have delivered a kinder, gentler Johnny Blaze is quickly dismissed when the music picks up and the flames flicker to reveal our first look at the new Ghost Rider. It’s a look the directors have spoken with us about at length. “We wanted this black skull, with this gasoline fire and this black, inky smoke to get this real feeling of explosions and fire and heat,” Neveldine said at San Diego Comic-Con . “That’s something we really went for: ‘Let’s feel the heat in this movie.’ ” The grittiness of this Ghost Rider most definitely shines through in the trailer. Charcoal skull? Check. A whiff of gasoline seemingly rising off the screen? Check. Neveldine and Taylor not holding back in this trailer and delivering a full-on look at our hero right off the bat? Check. And they don’t stop there, quickly showing off Ghost Rider’s signature move, the Penance Stare: He looks into your eyes and makes you feel all the pain and suffering you’ve ever inflicted on other people. This is no fairy-tale power. This is not X-ray vision. This is a hard-core demonic power, one which was not played very well in the first film. Even in this quick shot, the Stare looks very cool. Speaking of demonic powers, the trailer got us thinking this film might not just be a sequel to the 2007 original, but to Cage’s “Drive Angry,” the 3-D action flick that had the actor busting out of hell to inflict gory revenge on his enemies. Crazy talk? Sure. But since “Drive Angry” hardly performed well enough at the box office to justify a sequel, we’ll take whatever we can get. We get to see plenty of Ghost Rider here, but the trailer gives us the briefest glimpse of Johnny Whitworth as Blackout. He’s part human, part demon, all bad news. Whitworth is a guy to watch — hardly a household name but one who delivered an energetic supporting role in the largely forgettable “Limitless.” With Neveldine and Taylor in control, there is serious potential for killer fight scenes between Blackout and Ghost Rider. Another character we get a peek at is young Danny Ketch. Comic fans will know him as one of the guys who eventually becomes Ghost Rider. The big departure here is that Danny is a kid. In the comics, he’s a young man. While this film probably won’t turn into a passing of the torch from Cage’s Johnny Blaze to Danny as the next Ghost Rider, it’s nonetheless cool to see filmmakers laying the mythological groundwork. The trailer ends with pure, absurd fun: Ghost Rider declaring that it feels awesome when he pees fire. That’s essentially how Cage feels about the movie as a whole. “The Ghost Rider is just the coolest-looking superhero, and it has to be the one that goes to film and looks the best,” the actor told us at SDCC. “I think they’ve achieved that with this.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Nicolas Cage Says ‘Ghost Rider’ Sequel Will Offer A ‘Very Fresh Take’

Star is excited about what directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will bring to ‘Spirit of Vengeance.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Nicolas Cage in “Ghost Rider” Photo: Sony Nicolas Cage is pumped to head back on set and once again play the man known as both Johnny Blaze and the Ghost Rider for the sequel to the 2007 action flick. And though the second movie, tentatively titled “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” will deviate from the original film, he stands by that film’s merits as well. “I like it very much, very much,” he told MTV News about the script for the sequel. “By the way, I’m not knocking the first one, whatever people think. I stand by that movie as well. I thought it was a Faustian fairytale, like, if Disney were to make a movie about Faust, it would be in that vein, like a Western and a little lighter.” For the sequel, which is set to shoot in November, the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” star said that he’s really looking forward to what writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (the guys behind “Crank”) will bring to the franchise. “I’m very excited about those two,” he shared. ” ‘Cause they’re originals, and they know how to make a movie look great, and they know how to use a camera. And I think they’ll have a fresh, a very fresh take on the character.” And though he couldn’t reveal any details about the plot, Cage was able to say that the film won’t be “Ghost Rider 2,” exactly. “It’s a different trajectory, but it’s still the same guy,” he promised. “That’s all I can talk about!” Are you looking forward to the “Ghost Rider” sequel?
