Mindy McCready shot and killed her dog as well as herself, officials investigating the star’s tragic (but not entirely shocking) suicide in Arkansas said. For McCready, the downward spiral she was on had reached a point where killing a dog, or even herself, marked the end of a long and troubled road. The singer’s final weeks were a haze of addiction, depression and despair, according to new reports following her the country star’s death Sunday. Police found Mindy McCready dead (with her dog) on her home’s porch, in the exact spot where her 34-year-old boyfriend was found dead January 13. David Wilson’s death, also from a gunshot would to the head, is still being investigated by local authorities; McCready claimed she had no part in it. They have a 10-month-old son, Zane. Strangely, the dog was involved, indirectly, in Wilson’s death as well. McCready said the bullet that ended Wilson’s life was found “in the dog’s mouth.” “I didn’t find [the bullet], the dog did, I mean, that’s a horrific thing to say, but it was in the dog’s mouth,” she said in an interview with NBC’s Today . “I just keep telling myself that the more suffering that I go through, the greater character I’ll have,” she told the show following Wilson’s death. “He didn’t just touch my heart. He touched my soul … he was my soulmate.” Apparently whatever happened impacted the already troubled star greatly. In the 36 days between Wilson’s death and hers, the despondent singer was ordered into a treatment facility for mental health and alcohol abuse issues. Her father Tim gave a statement to the court detailing his daughter’s substance abuse struggled in an effort to have her children removed from her care. McCready has a six-year-old son as well, with Billy McKnight , who said this morning that his ex’s death, while tragic, did not really come as a shock. Tim told the court Mindy had stayed in bed for three weeks after Wilson’s death, sleeping all day and mixing alcohol and prescription pills in the evening. He added she was “not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children.” McCready entered the treatment facility for mental health and alcohol abuse issues February 6, then left on February 8 for an outpatient treatment center. McCready’s pal Shane Tallant told CBS the singer’s suicide was the end she chose for herself, and likely stemmed from her issues with Wilson. Her death “obviously speaks on the pain that she was feeling, that, for whatever reason, she chose to go to the same location and do the same thing he did.” Her alleged former lover Roger Clemens also issued a statement today, calling the event “sad” and offering kind words for the singer, who was 37.

Via NY Post reports: Nearly a month after Webb became famous watching her boyfriend, McCarron, help lead Alabama to a national title game win over Notre Dame, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Dockett continued his Twitter passes at the beautiful brunette Friday, telling her to “bring Lil AJ too” to a lunch date. “Aye @_KatherineWebb we still on for lunch,” Dockett tweeted. “I’m suggestion [sic] a spot in calliope projects bring Lil AJ too! My boyz will keep him comapany.” Calliope Projects is a public-housing development in New Orleans. Apparently, all three – Dockett, Webb and McCarron – are down there this weekend for the Super Bowl. How do we know this? Well, it’s all in McCarron’s reply tweet. “Pro player and u gotta try & be twitter thirsty!” McCarron sent back to Dockett. “I saw you today bro with Katherine looked dead at you & u didn’t say a thing!” McCarron wasn’t done either, inviting Dockett to his hometown and probably not for a Super Bowl party. “Come to mobile sometime if ya want to!” McCarron tweeted. “I got plenty of boys that will keep u company!” Alabama and McCarron won the national championship, but the true winner in the game was Webb, who watched her boyfriend from the stands with his family. ESPN commentator Brent Musburger gushed about how good looking Webb was and told young boys in Alabama to start throwing the ball around in the backyard so maybe they, too, one day could have a girlfriend as gorgeous as McCarron’s. Dockett took to Twitter soon after and sent Webb a tweet with his number. He said afterward that Webb wasn’t his type – he only likes “hood chicks” – but apparently his views have changed. Katherine Webb is about to get all wet. The 23-year old beauty has signed on for Splash , the ABC celebrity diving (yes, celebrity diving) competition that kicks off on March 19. But in an interview this morning with Ryan Seacrest, Webb admitted she preferred a different reality show is given the choice. “If I were to do any show it would have been Dancing With the Stars just because I love dancing,” Webb said. “I don’t know the technicalities on that, but I know that I was on the list I think, but I had a secured spot for celebrity diving so I went ahead with diving.” That’s still not bad for someone the celebrity gossip world had not heard of until January 7, when Webb’s face showed up on the telecast of the BCS national championship game and announcer Brent Musberger gushed over her appearance. Obama was personally involved in selecting the performers . “Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country,” said Obama, who won a second term in November. Cuban-American Richard Blanco will become the youngest ever inaugural poet at the quadrennial event, held in Washington D.C. on the 21st of January. He will also be the first Hispanic or gay writer to take the role. Obama said: “Richard’s writing will be wonderfully fitting for an inaugural that will celebrate the strength of the American people and our nation’s great diversity.” For the music, Beyonce will sing the national anthem, Clarkson will perform “My Country Tis of Thee” and Taylor will give his rendition of “America the Beautiful.” Taylor and Beyonce both sang at inaugural balls in 2009 after Obama was elected; her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” has since become a staple of her live shows. A vocal surrogate for Obama, she also wrote an open letter during the re-election campaign praising “the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be.” She and Jay-Z actively raised funds for Obama as well.
