Andy Wachowski, has come out as transgender. Wachowski announced Tuesday via a statement that he will now go by Lilly Wachowski. The announcement follows one by Wachowski’s older sibling and co-director of “The Matrix,” formerly known as Larry Wachowski, who said in 2012 that he’s transgender and would be going by Lana. Back in a bikini! Evangeline Lilly#39;s already showing off her amazing post-baby bikini body, purple swimsuit while in Hawaii on Thursday. In June 2015, Lilly revealed that she and Kali were expecting their second child in November 2015. The baby, a girl, was born in October 2015.
Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau, the iconic fashion designer of the brand that featured her name, died in Palm Beach, Fla., today, according to her company’s Facebook page. She was 81 years old. “Lilly has been a true inspiration to us and we will miss her,” a statement said. “In the days and weeks ahead we will celebrate all that Lilly meant to us.” The company added of its founder: “Lilly was a true original who has brought together generations through her bright and happy mark on the world.” Her schoolmate Jacqueline Kennedy, while First Lady of the United States, was photographed wearing one of Pulitzer’s dresses and made her a star. The dress “was made from kitchen curtain material, and people went crazy,” Pulitzer said in her book, “Essentially Lilly: A Guide to Colorful Entertaining.” “They took off like zingo. Everybody loved them, and I went into the dress business.” Her career sprang from her husband Peter’s citrus groves, SI reported in 1968. She opened an orange juice stand in Palm Beach, and designed her own colorful cotton shirts for herself to work in comfortably in the heat and humidity. Soon, customers wanted to buy her shirts as well as the O.J. Soon Lilly Pulitzer began a collection of informal dresses, called “Lillys,” and then began designing clothes for girls and a men’s sportswear line. Lily McKim took the surname of her first husband, Herbert Pulitzer, and later added the surname of her second husband, Enrique Rousseau, as well. Both marriages ended in divorce. She is survived by three children from her first husband, and the successful Lilly Pulitzer brand continues to this day. R.I.P.
‘It’s really chilled out and relaxed,’ actress says of film’s New Zealand set. By Kara Warner Evangeline Lilly Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Even though the big-screen adaptation of “The Hobbit” is based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s beloved book, everyone knows the movie version won’t be an exact replica and that there will be a few surprises in store when the first film hits theaters next year. One of those surprises director Peter Jackson already announced is the addition of actress Evangeline Lilly, playing the newly created role of Woodland Elf Tauriel . MTV News had a couple of minutes with the actress at the premiere of her new film “Real Steel” on Sunday night, and we snuck in a few “Hobbit” questions, asking for a progress update on the elf fight training she endured for the role. “Elf fighting, let me just say something, recovering from labor is like recovering from a full-body injury, and I didn’t realize to what extent that was true until I started training for elf fighting,” revealed Lilly, who gave birth to her first child in May. “My hips don’t move like they used to move, my back doesn’t move like it used to move, my shoulders are sore every day. But it’s fun.” The former “Lost” actress said she’s also enjoying the “chilled out” atmosphere of filming in New Zealand, as well as being a part of yet another male-dominated cast. “It’s kind of, like, my M.O.,” Lilly said about being one of few women on set. ” ‘Lost’ was a boys club, ‘The Hurt Locker’ was a boys club, [‘Real Steel’] was a boys club, and now ‘The Hobbit’ is a boys club. So I’m used to it. … It’s really chilled out and relaxed, and everyone is really down to earth and supportive.” Finally, we asked Lilly if she’d been able to glean any words of wisdom from Jackson’s previous leading-lady elves, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel and Liv Tyler as Arwen in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. “I wish! I would love to talk to those women, and they’re two women who I deeply admire,” she said. “Cate Blanchett is in this film, and I missed her; we didn’t cross paths. She was filming before I got there and was gone by the time I arrived. “But the good thing is, I tried not to copy their performances,” she added. “I really wanted to have something original, so I intentionally didn’t go back and watch ‘Rings’ for that reason. I just want to create something new.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hobbit.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
Much has been made of Lost star Evangeline Lilly’s intention to quit acting after the series finishes — she even recently told Vulture, “It’s true, I’m definitely planning on taking a break for a little while.” Apparently, Lilly got an offer she couldn’t refuse, because she just signed up for the part of “Hugh Jackman’s friend” in the robot boxing movie Real Steel , directed by Shawn Levy ( Date Night ). Anthony Mackie is joining the cast as well, though that doesn’t violate any self-imposed one-week career sabbaticals. [ Variety ]

Chuck Boustany must be pissed ! He gave the official GOP rebuttal of Obama’s speech , but it’s mad heckler, Rep. Joe Wilson , who’s getting all the attention.
