Erin Andrews: Leaving ESPN For Fox Sports!

Popular ESPN reporter Erin Andrews is leaving the network, effective today. ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys confirmed that Andrews, who has been with the worldwide leader in sports since 2004, is a goner. Her contract expires today and the network was unable to reach an agreement on an extension with her. She will reportedly anchor Fox Sports’ college football coverage this fall. Fox declined immediate comment Friday night, but the network is making a major push into college football and Erin would represent a major “get.” This will be Fox’s first regular season of college football coverage. ESPN, in a statement wishing her the best in the future, said that Andrews “did great work for us and we made an aggressive offer to keep her.” In other news, Michael David Barrett, the perv who filmed Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room three years ago, is scheduled for release Tuesday. Erin Andrews Files Lawsuit Against Stalker, Hotel Over Nude Peephole Video

Erin Andrews is now suing the hotel where she was videotaped secretly in the nude for $10 million, according to reports. The incident occurred in Nashville in 2008. In the suit, originally filed last year, and just refiled to ensure the statute of limitations did not run out, Andrews asks for $6 million from the West End Marriott. She also seeks $4 million from Michael David Barrett , who pleaded guilty to stalking her. In 2010, he was sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison. The suit says the hotel was guilty of negligence for allowing Barrett to learn where she was staying and record the infamous Erin Andrews nude peephole video . Barrett had previously videotaped Andrews in other cities, according to prosecutors, and was able to not only find the hotel but book a neighboring room. The Marriott has not commented on the lawsuit. Erin Andrews, 33, is a popular reporter for ESPN. She has said that the peeping tom incident and secret naked surveillance tape taken by the perv still causes her “great emotional distress and embarrassment.” [Photo: WENN.com]

Gun Threat Reported Against Erin Andrews

Another email targeting ESPN reporter and Dancing with the Stars contender Erin Andrews has been released, and it doesn’t exactly make the guy look small time. He’s already made death threats , but now he’s getting even more specific, making it crystal clear that he’s not to be taken lightly (and needs a team of shrinks). The loser from Newport News, Va., has been sending sexual and violent emails to Erin Andrews via DirecTV’s The Dan Patrick Show since back in September. The emails turned violent and threatening in late March, right around when she made her debut on Dancing with the Stars with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. He recently wrote , “I would like to see if Erin Andrews can dance her way through a hail of gunfire. Better yet I would love to shoot her with a Barrett rifle.” Erin and Maksim have earned praise on Dancing with the Stars . Unfortunately, a deranged lunatic would like to see her eliminated … from the show and planet . That’s just a cruel play on words, as her previous stalker – the tool who videotaped Erin Andrews nude in her hotel room illegally – is named Michael David Barrett. Also scary? A Barrett rifle has a range of over a mile. Just the same, in spite of this email and others, the FBI is resistant to making an arrest, because authorities believe the author is engaging in protected free speech. We just hope Erin is protected. Sources familiar with the author say that “he’s 6’9″ and bulky.” Apparently size and height don’t correlate to sanity or brainpower.

Erin Andrews has endured a rough year, one that keeps revealing difficult passages. The 31-year-old ESPN sportscaster’s high-profile court case, where divorced father Michael David Barrett was eventually charged with filming Andrews through a peephole in her hotel rooms in several different states, ended in March as Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in prison. This month (and after our interview) it was revealed that Andrews had received death threats for over six months. Now, as Andrews waltzes and quicksteps on the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars , she talks with Movieline about moving on from the hellish court proceedings, finding new confidence, those romantic rumors with her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and the other ESPN personality she’d like to see on DWTS .

It will take more than a depraved stalker or threats on her life to prompt Erin Andrews to pack it in prematurely on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. The ESPN reporter will perform on Monday night’s live show despite recent threats by a crazy person to murder her . She says she’s in it to win it. “I’m glad I’m here. I don’t want to let Maks down, I don’t want to let my family down, and I don’t want to let myself down,” Andrews told People . “I’m not going to stop living my life.” Erin will perform the waltz with Maksim Chmerkovskiy , her partner and rumored love. She says the time on the dance floor has been therapeutic. “I don’t quit on things. It’s not an option for me,” the 31-year-old says, having come face-to-face with yet another potentially terrifying situation. Last month, Illinois resident and certified creep Michael David Barrett was sentenced to 30 months for filming her through a hotel room peephole. Dude then posted clips of Erin Andrews nude online. We know she’s hot, but that’s the creepiest, most pathetic thing ever. Enjoy prison, Mike. And go Erin and Maks tonight!
