Shannen Doherty Honors Luke Perry: His Kids Were His Heart

Late last week, legendary actor Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke and was hospitalized. He never recovered. On Monday, Perry died . He is being mourned by friends, fans, and castmates — both past and present. Shannen Doherty is honoring his memory — and says that Luke’s greatest accomplishment was his children. After Luke Perry’s massive stroke , Shannen was one of so many who expressed her affection and support while he was hospitalized. “My friend,” Shannen wrote on Instagram. “Holding you tight,” she wrote. “And giving you my strength.” She emphasized her support: “You got this.” Unfortunately, the beloved actor who entertained generations of viewers passed away at 52. Shannen co-starred with Luke Perry for years on 90210 during the ’90s. “Yesterday morning,” Shannen writes. “I got a phone call that devastated me.” She is referring to the notification that Luke had passed. “I’m struggling with this loss,” she admits. “And,” Shannen continues. “Am having a hard time with my thoughts.” That is extremely understandable. “But,” she writes. “My heart goes out to his family and friends” Shannen describes these lucky individuals as people “who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives.” “Processing this is impossible right now,” she admits. That is extremely normal for grief. Shannen and Luke fell out of touch after they were no longer co-stars, but then he reached out to her a few years ago. Their friendship endured throughout her cancer battle and continued after she went into remission last year. “Luke was a smart, quiet, humble and complex man,” Shannen says to People . She continues: “with a heart of gold and never-ending well of integrity and love.” “Luke reached out to me during my cancer journey,” she notes. “And we picked right back up” on their friendship, she says. “Albeit older and wiser.” “But that connection remained intact,” she affirms. “There is a special kind of love one has for each other,” Shannen reflects. She says that this is true “when you are experiencing the journey we did on 90210 and of course life in general.” “Luke and I were working on show ideas for us,” she reveals. “We wanted to work with each other again,” Shannen says. “And create something special and meaningful for our fans at this stage in our lives.” She mourns: “I will miss him every day. Every minute. Every second.” “Luke loved his family,” Shannen affirms. She continues: “He raved about his kids and how proud he was of them.” “He showed me videos of the often,” she notes. “They were his heart and for him,” she concludes. “His biggest accomplishment.” “A couple of weeks ago in February,” Shannen says. “Luke and I met up for lunch. He chose the restaurant based on who would allow his dog.” “I walked in and there he was, smiling, with his dog Penny and her bed under the booth, happy as can be,” she recalls. Shannen expresses: “I will never forget — and will miss — Luke looking at me with that smile of his saying … Shan.” That is so sweet and so heartbreaking. Our hearts go out to his family and his loved ones in the wake of this tragedy. View Slideshow: Luke Perry: Mourned, Remembered by Co-Stars and Friends

Once Upon a Time Stunner: Who’s Out?

There is one episode remaining on Once Upon a Time season 6. And, on a related note, there is also just one episode remaining for Jennifer Morrison as a lead character on Once Upon a Time. The actress has announced she’s leaving the show. Now, one important caveat to keep in mind is this: ABC is yet to renew Once Upon a Time beyond this season. Many fans have anticipated for many weeks now that Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 21 (titled “The Final Battle”) will mark the conclusion of the beloved drama. And now we have an even stronger reason to believe this will be the case.  Still, long-time followers of the program are reacting with sadness to Morrison’s announcement. “As I reached the end of my 6 year contract on ONCE UPON A TIME, I was faced with a significant decision,” the star wrote on Instagram this morning, adding: “ABC, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz very generously invited me to continue as a series regular. After very careful consideration, I have decided that creatively and personally, it is time for me to move on.” Morrison has anchored the series as Emma Swan since the premiere. She concluded her statement as follows: Emma Swan is one my favorite characters that I have ever played. My 6 years on ONCE UPON A TIME has changed my life in the most beautiful ways. I am absolutely blown away by the passion and commitment of the Oncer fans. I am so honored to have been a central part of such a special show. I will be forever grateful to Adam, Eddy, and ABC for giving me the gift of playing Emma Swan. It’s also worth noting that simply because Morrison is leaving, this doesn’t mean she’s leaving her fan base high and dry forever. The actress promised loyal Once Upon a Time viewers that she’ll continue to make appearances at fan conventions whenever she can. “As I move on to other creative endeavors, I will continue to attend the fan conventions whenever my professional schedule allows,” she wrote. “I always look forward meeting the fans.” Finally, if ABC does , indeed, pick the show up for a seventh season, Morrison is willing to return and wrap up her character’s storyline. “If ABC Network does in fact order a season 7, I have agreed to appear in one episode, and I will most certainly continue to watch ONCE UPON A TIME,” she assured fans. “The creativity of the show runners has always inspired me, and I cannot wait to see the ways that they continue to develop and reinvent the show.” View Slideshow: 13 TV Shows Ending In 2017 NOTE to ABC: Do not pick up Once Upon a Time for Season 7. The show lost its creative juice about two years ago and Morrison’s announcement here ought to serve as a final nail in its coffin. It’s been a great ride. But it ought to end now.

Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth: We STILL Hate Tiffani Thiessen!

Beverly Hills, 90210 went off the air 17 years ago. Which makes us feel VERY old. But try telling that to Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth. Two of the drama’s original cast members, these two women continue to hold a grudge against a former colleague as if the series just ended yesterday. Last Friday evening, Garth and Spelling appeared in a RuPaul’s Drag Race sketch based on the smash hit drama for their best known. In the segment, Garth’s character was critiquing a contestant played by Thiessen’s 90210 vixen, Valerie Malone, when Garth refused to even say Thiessen’s name. “As Ti … how do you say it?” Garth joked, at which point Spelling jumped in replied: “Just say, ‘That which we don’t speak of.’” The actresses then laughed, as Garth agreed: “Yes, we know her as ‘That which we don’t speak of.’” Wow. Who knew Thiessen was akin to Voldermort in the eyes of these actresses? Thiessen came on board 90210 as the replacement for Shannen Doherty, after that controversial actress departed the series as Brenda Walsh in 1994. Back in 2012, Thiessen told Howard Stern that she and Garth “had a falling out and we grew apart,” adding that she was the one who was “hurt” and not wanting to delve into any more details. When it came to Spelling, however, Thiessen explained that she was very close to Tori’s her first husband, Charlie Shanian. When the couple split in 2005, it basically ruined her friendship with her ex-co-star forever. “It was a hard situation for everybody. We were close with Charlie [Shanian] … my best friend was Charlie’s roommate. It was hard,” Thiessen told Stern in the same interview. In the many, many years since Beverly Hills, 90210 went off the air, Spelling has mostly made news for pumping out numerous kids and going through a multitude of marital problems with second husband Dean McDermott. She may even be broke . But Spelling has remained close to Garth, even starring for one season with her on some show titled “Mystery Girls.” Thiessen, meanwhile, has enjoyed the most professional success of these three actresses. She starred for five seasons as Elizabeth Burke on the USA Network his White Collar and who could ever forget her turn as Wilhelmina “Billie” Chambers on the former Fox drama Fast Lane. Okay, fair point: most people have likely forgotten about it. We’re yet to hear from Thiessen’s rep in regard to any sort of response to Spelling and Garth’s latest diss. But we somehow doubt she’ll comment. She’s likely moved far past this feud. N.Y. Man Stabs Floor of McDonald’s, Fears Wild Animal Attack

A New York man has been arrested after reportedly hallucinating and going on a knife-wielding rampage inside a McDonald's on Black Friday. Fortunately, only the floor of the restaurant was harmed. Hancock, N.Y., police and New York State Police arrested the knife-wielding man who was reportedly hallucinating inside the McDonald's. Police say on Friday at around 10:00 p.m., Braden Rose, 40, was seen stabbing at the floor of the restaurant in a violent state of paranoia. Officers disarmed the man without incident and said it was determined he was hallucinating, believing he was being attacked by wild animals. After being evaluated, it was determined that he was under the influence of drugs, and was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital for treatment. The man had ingested drugs at McDonald's , apparently. Moreover, in his possession, he had approximately one ounce of cocaine, 1.7 ounces of heroin, various pills and hypodermic needles. Rose is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and more. A lot more. So much more that he was arraigned in the Village of Hancock Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $25,000. The approximate value of the drugs seized is $10,000. We don't have a video of this incident, but because crazy things going on at McDonald's are fairly common, we do have this for you:

Shannen Doherty Shares Bald Photo, Starts Radiation

Shannen Doherty has started the next phase of her cancer treatment. And she understandable very scared about it. The former Beverly Hills, 90210 actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2015 and has since been as open as possible about her journey and her struggle. The latest part of that journey and struggle? Radiation treatment. According to an Instagram photo and message on Monday, Doherty has kicked off this step of her hopeful recovery. “First day of radiation treatment,” Doherty wrote as a caption to the image above. She added: “I look like I’m about to make a run for it which is accurate. Radiation is frightening to me. Something about not being able to see the laser, see the treatment and having this machine moving around you just scares me. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but right now…. I hate it.” She included the hashtags, “#radiation, #radiationmondaysucks and #stillfightinglikeagirl with her moving post. It took a few months for Doherty to reveal her diagnosis to the world. She was forced to go public in August 2015 after she filed a lawsuit against her former management firm and business manager, who she alleges failed to pay her health insurance premiums. As a result of this issue, Doherty said she wasn’t able visit doctors for a year, which meant her breast cancer went undetected. Which greatly lowered her risk of survival. But Doherty is still here and is determined to make the most of her life. She flew down to Mexico with her husband last month in order to celebrate their five-year anniversary , sharing photos from the trip and writing a tribute to Kurt Iswarienko in the process. “Life has thrown us some huge curves and we have faced them together with strength, love, passion and a desire to stand next to one another thru it all,” Doherty said at the time on social media. As she fights to defeat this awful disease, she is making an effort in general to remember what’s important. For example, as you can see above, she still voted in the Presidential election. She also wrote an emotional message to her mom in August. “Sometimes there’s nothing like a mothers love to help get you thru,” the star captioned a black-and-white photo of herself in her mother’s embrace. “Thank you mom for always being there and being so strong for me. I love you.” In August, Doherty revealed that the breast cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and that she would undergo chemotherapy, followed by the radiation that began this week. We truly cannot imagine what she is going through. “I think what’s beautiful and hard and interesting about cancer is that it tears you down and builds you, and tears you down and builds you, and it remakes you so many different times,” Doherty said in an emotional interview with Chelsea Handler last month. “The person I thought I was supposed to be, or was going to be, or who I thought I was six months ago is now somebody completely different.” We pray that Shannen Doherty joins the list above of celebrities that have overcome this awful disease. We’re thinking of her.

Shannen Doherty: Read Her Emotional Message To Mom Rosa

Like a lot of fans, I’m rooting for Shannen Doherty to win her battle against breast cancer.  One more who is rooting more than anyone, though, is her mom, Rosa. “Sometimes there’s nothing like a mothers love to help get you thru,” Doherty captioned a black-and-white photo of herself in her mother’s arms. “Thank you mom for always being there and being so strong for me. I love you.” Doherty has been open with her battle in the hopes that it will offer comfort, inspiration and hope to others going through similar struggles .  More than anything, it allows her fans to be with her every step of the way. “Chemo day. A day many of us dread,” Doherty shared in another Instagram. “Strength gets us thru but every once in awhile, you just want to hide in bed and let chemo day pass you by.” Earlier this month, Doherty confirmed that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.   The 90210 star was diagnosed in March 2015 after her former management company did not pay her health insurance premiums, resulting in a delayed diagnosis. Last week, Doherty told  Entertainment Tonight how she broke the news to her husband of five years, Kurt Iswarienko. Shannen Doherty Talks Cancer Treatment “I told him, ‘You need to enjoy every single second you have with me because I’m going to be dead in five years,’ and he just burst out in tears,” The Tennessee native recalled. Doherty was in the car when she decided to tell her husband over the phone, because she couldn’t wait until she got hom. “I called him, which was horrible of me,” she said. “I was in the car. I was with my mom, and the doctor called me and I’m, you know, ‘I’m going to wait until I see him,’ and I just couldn’t. So I picked up the phone and I called him and he was like, ‘Where are you?’” Once Doherty pulled into her driveway, Iswarienko wrapped his wife in his arms and told her that they were going to get through it together. “‘We are going to get through this, you’re strong and you’re powerful and you’re not going anywhere,” Doherty remembered the photographer saying. “‘You have so much to do in your life. We are going to get through it as a family.'” Doherty has no doubt that the diagnosis has strengthened their bond. “My marriage was always strong, but it’s made my marriage a thousand times stronger,” Doherty said. “I could not have gotten through this without my husband.”

Shannen Doherty Opens Up About Horrors of Chemotherapy

Shannen Doherty is facing the biggest challenge of her life. The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was diagnosed with breast cancer several months and has been keeping fans apprised of her progress. Sadly, it isn’t going very well. Earlier this week, for example, Doherty shared the tragic news that the cancer has spread. Now, in an Instagram post written on Thursday, Doherty has gone into detail about the horrors of undergoing chemotherapy. It’s unfortunately a feeling and an experience to which millions can relate. “Each person’s cancer journey is different. For me, chemo has been terrible and believe me, we have tried almost everything,” the 45-year old wrote alongside a photo of herself in bed alongside her beloved dog Bowie. She added: “So days like this have become a bit of the norm. I’m learning that it’s ok to fall into bed and give in to the exhaustion or nausea or aches.” Thank goodness she has a four-legged friend she can lean on at least. After thanking her 422,000 followers for their ongoing support throughout this health battle, Doherty gave a mention to her precious pooch for remaining by her side as she battles to beat this illness. “Btw, it doesn’t hurt to have #msbowie comfort me. So back to my nap,” she wrote. “Thank you for your prayers, well wishes and stories. They help so much.” During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, Doherty said she thinks her canine was the first to sense that she had cancer. Dogs really have been known to have this ability. “She would obsessively sniff right here on my right side for a long time before,” Doherty shared. “So it made sense when I got diagnosed. The actress discovered she had breast cancer in February 2015. She shaved her head just a couple weeks ago. After her eight rounds of chemotherapy are complete, Doherty is planning to start radiation treatments. It’s difficult, but Doherty is trying to stay positive. “[My husband and I] were at this Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, and I looked at him and I said, ‘You better enjoy every single second that you have with me … ’cause I’m going to be dead in five years,'” she told ET. “He burst out crying and was like, ‘You can’t say that.'” “That phase was short, thank God. That was a short, short phase that I think my family and friends got me through.” We send our love and best wishes to Shannen Doherty. We can’t fathom what she is going through, but we know other celebrities have beaten cancer. To wit:
