Game will talk beef and album updates, while Diddy will swing through to make a special announcement, at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. By Rob Markman Game Photo: Jason LaVeris/ FilmMagic Game has been making a lot of noise lately, and on Wednesday, the West Coast MC will continue to make headlines when he appears on MTV’s “RapFix Live” at 4 p.m. ET. With the release date for his oft-delayed The R.E.D. Album fast approaching, the Los Angeles rapper is making waves, first on his jarring “Uncle Otis” track, on which he poked fun at everyone from Jay-Z and Kreayshawn to Marc Anthony. Opening the song going directly at Jigga, the Game spat, “N—as be chasing they youth, but it’s gone/ Yo, ‘Ye, this n—a ain’t even wanna put you on.” He later took swipes at inaccuracies in the lyrics of Big Sean’s hit-single “My Last.” “You turned around and put on Sean/ But forgot to tell him Beni Han Han don’t sell no f—ing won ton.” It hasn’t been all controversial, however: Last week, fans got a taste of Game’s “Drug Test,” which features Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, and on Monday, he leaked his Hood Morning (No Typo): (Candy Coronas) mixtape. On Wednesday, Game will talk about all his latest developments with Sway on the “RapFix” couch. Diddy will also check into the show with a very special announcement, and there is no telling what the Bad Boy head honcho has up his sleeve. Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch the Throne August 8 release date is less than one week away, and the anticipation and buzz has been steadily building. On Monday, the duo played the album for a select crowd in the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium in New York City, and on Tuesday morning (August 2), pre-sale tickets for the Throne ‘s upcoming tour went on sale. In this week’s episode, Sway will deliver all the latest WTT news. You don’t want to miss it. Visit MTV.com on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET to watch Game and special guest Diddy on “RapFix Live”! South Carolina’s First Black Judge Matthew J. Perry Dies

Read the rest here:

A funeral is set for 11 a.m. Thursday for U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Perry, a giant of a civil rights lawyer who toiled relentlessly to dismantle legal segregation in South Carolina and then went on to become the state’s first black federal judge. Perry died of natural causes Friday just days before his 90th birthday. His body was discovered at his home on Sunday by a family friend. At his death, he was serving as a senior U.S. District Court judge, working every weekday in the downtown Columbia courthouse that was dedicated in April 2004 and bears his name. Oprah Wants You To Attend Her Class & “OWN Your Life” The funeral, which will be held at Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia, is expected to draw hundreds of mourners, including federal judges from across the country, lawyers and judges in South Carolina, current and former law clerks and his many clients, who were involved in sit-ins and demonstrations that marked the 1950s and 1960s civil rights era. Gov. Nikki Haley has ordered flags at the State House to be lowered to half-staff on the day of his funeral, her spokesman Rob Godfrey said. The Rev. Charles Jackson Sr., Brookland’s pastor, will deliver the eulogy, said I.S. Leevy Johnson, owner of Leevy’s Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery at the family plot. “All of his law clerks will serve as active pallbearers and members of the state and federal judiciary will be honorary pallbearers,” said Johnson. The funeral home is working with the U.S. Marshal’s Service to ensure security at the church, which seats 3,500. Perry’s home church, Zion Baptist, could not seat the anticipated crowd. Retracing Darwin’s Steps, and Managing the Human Impact on the Galapagos Islands

When considering history, it’s important not to get too stuck on just looking at what’s already behind you. All photos credit: Collin Dunn The difference between visiting the islands largely untouched by humans and those once habited by people is pretty stark. After seeing the pristine, un-invaded island of Fernadina, we stopped in Egas Port, on the island of Santiago, to retrace a few of Darwin’s steps, and see what can happen when humans have a hand in writing the natural history of the Galapagos. … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Billionaire Who Denies Connection to Tea Parties Bankrolls Tea-Partying Glenn Beck Fans

David Koch, billionaire backer of the Tea Party movement, says he's never been to a Tea Party event. So, what do you call the conference full of Tea Partiers he just convened? August 29, 2010|WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a darkened hotel ballroom, on the eve of Glenn Beck's burlesque of self-righteousness at the Lincoln Memorial, some 2,500 activists listened politely to the tall, impeccably dressed elder at the podium as he stumbled through his introduction of the evening's guest of honor, the conservative columnist George Will. The speaker was introduced simply as chairman of the board of the Americans For Prosperity Foundation, the organization that sponsored the event. Few among the rank-and-file recognized the billionaire David Koch — heir to the fortunes of Koch Industries — or knew him as the man who bankrolls their activism, whose largess subsidized many of their trips to the nation's capital to take part in AFPF's organizing conference, and the Beck rally the following day. Beck, you'll recall, is in the employ of the billionaire Rupert Murdoch, whose News Corporation (the parent company of Fox News and the Wall Street Journal) has been in cahoots, as AlterNet reported( http://www.alternet.org/news/142068/utilizing_public_airwaves,_media_mogul_murdo… ), with Kochs' AFPF since the inception of the Tea Party movement. Koch's halting public speaking style befits his usual reluctance in recent years to interact with the public. He prefers to be known as the philanthropic presence behind the great institutions of New York: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History and the New York City Ballet. Indeed, he made his entrance to the stage at the AFPF banquet to the strains of “New York, New York,” which seemed a bit out of place in a room filled with the sounds of Southern drawls and Midwestern twangs. But over the course of the past year, Koch has earned a new reputation, one he's not keen to have: the Daddy Warbucks of the Tea Party movement. As AlterNet first reported last year, the two main astroturf groups responsible for organizing Tea Party supporters into a national movement were both founded by Koch: Americans For Prosperity, presided over by Tim Phillips, the former business partner of Ralph Reed; and FreedomWorks, which is chaired by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey. Both FreedomWorks and Americans For Prosperity have their roots in a now-defunct Koch-funded group, Citizens for a Sound Economy. While Koch is actively involved in Americans For Prosperity, his spokesperson claims no current relationship with FreedomWorks, or, incredibly, with the Tea Party movement. Last spring, on the eve of the April 15 Tax Day Tea Party protests, Koch Industries spokesperson Melissa Cohlmia sent an unsolicited statement( http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/04/right-wing_backers_koch_indust… ) to reporters and bloggers, asserting that “Koch companies, the Koch foundations, Charles Koch and David Koch have no ties to and have never given money to FreedomWorks. In addition, no funding has been provided by Koch companies, the Koch foundations, Charles Koch or David Koch specifically to support the tea parties. Thanks for your consideration.” “I’ve never been to a Tea Party event,” David Koch told New York magazine's Andrew Goldman( http://nymag.com/news/features/67285/ ) earlier this year. “No one representing the Tea Party has ever even approached me.” added by: toyotabedzrock
