Directors like Tim Burton have cited the classic British horror movies produced by Hammer Films as huge influences on their work. Now after a long period of hibernation, Hammer Films is back! They produced this year’s superb Let Me In , they are working on The Woman in Black , starring the grown-up Daniel Radcliffe, and now they’ve released the trailer for Wake Wood , their first original horror film since 1976. ‘D-Bag’ Eric Braeden Responds to Neil Patrick Harris

And he didn’t do it on Twitter . “His choice of words bothered me,” The Young and The Restless star said to EW. com about Neil Patrick Harris’ Twitter slur. “It seems to me like a young whippersnapper, having seen himself on a few covers, who’s received a few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris. I’ve been in the business for 50 years. I’ve seen people come and go and I’m still here.” For his part, Braeden says he only dropped out of How I Met Your Mother because of his busy schedule following hip surgery. “Everyone knows that I’m exhausted. I was not about to appear on a show for two lines.” There are no small parts… [ EW ]

How Do You Know that How Do You Know is a Bad Movie?

How Do You Know , the new James L. Brooks movie that’s about, well, something, I suppose, is not very good. The title, presented in the form of a question (sort of), offers no clue to the merits of the film let alone hints to what the plot of this movie might be about. Honestly, after seeing this movie, I’m still not 100 percent sure what it’s actually about. With that in mind, I did my best to come up with 10 questions, Jeopardy! style, based on the title of the film, to offer some clarity to this pressing issue of our time.

90 Seconds of Fame: Create Your Own Andy Warhol-Style Screen Test

Between 1964 and 1966, Andy Warhol filmed a series of silent, black and white 16mm short films called “Screen Tests” that featured his hip friends like Lou Reed and Yoko Ono sitting around and doing very little for seven-minute uninterrupted takes. In celebration of their new exhibition of the Screen Tests, the Museum of Modern Art has a launched nifty interactive feature that allows you to create your own 90-second version of these screen tests. Check out some clips from the original tests for Dennis Hopper, Salvador Dali (in all of his upside-down glory) and Nico for inspiration after the jump, then go wild! And by “go wild” I mean just sit there.

REVIEW: Jack Abramoff is More Folk Hero Than Scoundrel in Casino Jack

Until he was convicted in 2008, Jack Abramoff was a wearer of many hats: Washington lobbyist supreme, bedfellow of right-wing creeps like Tom DeLay and Ralph Reed, bilker of Indian nations, sometime film producer, restaurateur, observant Jew. Within the past year, he also became the star subject of two movies: First the sharp, complex Alex Gibney documentary Casino Jack and the United States of Money, and now the more straightforwardly titled Casino Jack , directed by the late George Hickenlooper and starring Kevin Spacey in the title role. If Abramoff fancies himself a charming scamp, he’ll be a lot happier with how he’s portrayed in the latter movie — and that’s the problem with it.
