Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy To Drop Early After Leak

Hugh Hefner tweets the news Friday after several photos from Lohan’s spread leaked online. By Kara Warner Lindsay Lohan’s leaked Playboy cover Photo: Playboy Following the recent leak of photos from Lindsay Lohan’s highly anticipated Playboy spread , Hugh Hefner and the powers that be at the magazine have decided to move up the issue’s release date. “Because of the interest & the Internet leak, we’re releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early,” Hefner tweeted Friday (December 9). Although he didn’t specify a release date, he did tweet a few positive comments about Lohan’s spread. “The Lindsay Lohan issue of Playboy is going to be a true Collector’s Edition,” he wrote , adding that online demand is clearly high: “Lindsay Lohan was the top search name on the Internet yesterday. Her issue goes on sale late next week. Hot. Hot. Hot.” The photo leak has been traced to an anonymous hacker who told Fox News he is responsible for uploading the files to Russia-based file-sharing site. A rep for Playboy addressed the latest leak to MTV News in a statement: “Someone took photos of Lindsay’s pictorial in an advanced copy of the January/February issue. They posted the photos online without permission. We are not releasing any official images or information until December 15.” Lohan is rumored to have received $1 million for the photos and the interview. She’s scheduled to appear on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show next week to discuss her decision to pose for Playboy and had also planned to debut the now-leaked cover and another photo.

Fall into a Trance with the Trailer for Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams

While Werner Herzog does narrate Cave of Forgotten Dreams , his 3-D documentary about the oldest-known man-made art in the Chauvet caves of Southern France, his voice-over is conspicuously absent from the first trailer. That’s probably just as well, because I’m not positive that I could resist falling asleep if Herzog’s soothing voice was paired with the sublime images presented here. At least not in 2-D.

‘Little Fockers’ Celebrates At The Holiday Box Office

‘Fockers’ won a meager first-place prize, while ‘True Grit’ blasted its way to second place. By Josh Wigler Ben Stiller in “Little Fockers” Photo: Universal Studios/DW Studios ‘Tis the season to be jolly, but while the holiday spirit was present in millions of households this past weekend, it wasn’t felt with nearly as much fanfare at the movies. It was a fairly quiet weekend at the box office this holiday season, with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro’s “Little Fockers” leading the pack with an estimated $34 million from Friday through Sunday and a five-day total of $48.3 million. But while Jack still has his eye on Greg, few people entered the circle of trust this go-around, as “Fockers,” the second sequel to the critically acclaimed “Meet the Parents,” failed to match the success of its predecessor “Meet the Fockers,” which earned $70.5 million in its first five days in 2004. Indeed, the second-place showing for “True Grit” was more impressive than the first-place “Fockers” in many respects. For one, the Jeff Bridges-starring Western drew $36.8 million since opening on Wednesday of last week, nearly crushing its entire $38 million production budget in a single session. “True Grit” also marked the single-best opening for any Coen brothers movie to date, easily surpassing the $19.1 million “Burn After Reading” earned in 2008. “Tron Legacy” remained on the gaming grid this weekend with a third-place finish worth $25.6 million. The movie suffered a steep 54 percent drop from its opening performance last weekend, leaving some to wonder whether Disney’s decision to revitalize the science-fiction franchise was a sound one. The weekend’s biggest disappointment was Jack Black’s “Gulliver’s Travels,” which debuted Saturday and ended the weekend in seventh place with $7.2 million. Releasing the film on Christmas Day was a risky gamble on Fox’s part, and despite the message that “Gulliver” has to offer, size really does matter when it comes to business, and unfortunately for the studio, the opening numbers on “Gulliver” are simply too small to consider the film anything but a flop. The Box-Office Top Five #1 “Little Fockers” ($34 million) #2 “True Grit” ($25.6 million) #3 “Tron Legacy” ($20.1 million) #4 “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” ($10.8 million) #5 “Yogi Bear” ($8.8 million) Upcoming Releases It’s going to be another quiet weekend at the box office next week, with smaller-budget dramas “Another Year” and “Blue Valentine” sneaking in as the weekend’s only new releases with a combined total of 10 theaters between the two of them. ‘Tron Legacy ‘ Star Garrett Hedlund Calls Movie ‘Incredible Experience’

‘It’s such a high-tech adventure,’ actor tells MTV News on the film’s blue carpet. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Ryan Downey Garrett Hedlund Photo: MTV News “Tron” was an eye-popping technological extravaganza when it first hurtled into theaters in 1982 with its speeding light cycles and gaming imagery. The film eventually proved to be so influential — spawning video games and a whole “Tron”-obsessed subculture in its wake — that Disney circled back to the project for the 2010 sequel “Tron Legacy.” For Garrett Hedlund, who plays Sam Flynn, the son of software engineer Kevin (portrayed in both movies by Jeff Bridges), the latest take on the project is still an impressive spectacle that ramps up the potently mind-scrambling imagery. Hedlund revealed his thoughts to MTV News about the seeing the final product for the first time on the blue carpet at the elaborate “Tron Legacy” premiere Saturday. “I saw it couple weeks ago when I was in Montreal, but only with a couple pals and on a smaller Technicolor screen. But even then it was an incredible experience. It’s such a high-tech adventure,” Hedlund said. “It’s undoubtedly like anything I’ve ever seen before, and I think the loss for words on it is the best part of it and I can’t wait to see it again.” Even though Hedlund has a role in bringing the digital wizardry of the franchise to a new generation — in addition to getting a high-profile, career-boosting gig from the project — he said he was most excited to see “Tron” filmmaker Steven Lisberger revel in the enduring influence of his groundbreaking movie nearly three decades later. “That’s where I’m so happy for Steven Lisberger. Something he created around 28 years ago and this wild maniacal story has come to fruition 28 years later in such an unbelievable way,” he said. “To see him walking with his family and enjoying this with all of us and being there when we’re filming with all of us and sort of being the godfather on set, I’m more proud of him in this very moment.” What are you looking forward to seeing in “Tron”?
