Johnny Cage Delivers Fades In The Most Hollywood Way In New ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Reveal Trailer

Source: WB Games / NetherRealm Studios Johnny Cage is back, and boy is his character even more ridiculously good. Cage is the latest character revealed joining the growing the list of fighters that will be in NetherRealm Studios’ highly anticipated game Mortal Kombat 11 . We might have found our favorite character. Cage is the focus of this weeks Kombat Kast that last announced that Princess Kitana’s BFF and deadly assassin Jade would be returning to MK11 as well. Armed with his signature moves like his Shadow Kick, Shadow Uppercut, Shadow Somersaults and his brass knuckles that we were introduced in Mortal Kombat X . But what gamers will be genuinely excited to see are the new tricks that Johnny Cage has up his sleeve in MK11 . The folks at NetherRealm are taking the character to another level by allowing him to beat his opponents into a bloody pulp in the most Hollywood way ever. The trailer reveals that Cage can now call on a stunt double to help issue fades, throw his sunglasses as a dangerous projectile, and blind his opponents with a camera flash. What really will have the masses talking is Cage’s X-Ray attack where we see the former actor brutalize his opponents with an award trophy smashing it across their faces before stabbing them in the back with it. For his fatality, Cage brings back his vintage uppercut finish but needs numerous takes to get it right before taking his frustration out on his defeated opponent and asking, “who hired this guy, wtf?” Johnny Cage joins his wife Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Geras, Skarlet, Baraka, Jade, Kano, Kabal , D’Vorah and Shao Khan. Mortal Kombat 11 launches April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. You can peep our fave in action below. — Photo: WB Games / NetherRealm Studios

The Greatest: Remembering Muhammed Ali One Year After Later

Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee Born Cassius Clay, Muhammed Ali, is said to be the most written about public figure in his lifetime. As the only Heavyweight champion to be crowned three times, Ali made a name for himself in and outside of the boxing ring. He was known for talking smack about his opponents and his strong opposition for the Vietnam War. He died a year ago today, after battling Parkinson’s Disease for over thirty years. “I think maybe Parkinson’s is God’s way of reminding me what is important. It slowed me down and caused me to listen rather than talk,” Ali explained. Gone, but certainly never forgotten, here are a couple of other famed quotes from The Greatest himself: “It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.” “Don’t count the days, make the days count.” “I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.” Rest In Peace Oh Great One!

Mitt Romney Tax Returns: Grossly Distorted By Media?

Is the media grossly misreporting the taxes paid by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney? According to one review of his 2011 return , very much so. Mitt and Ann Romney ‘s 2011 adjusted gross income (AGI) was about $18.6 million, with their total federal income tax coming to $1.9 million, or 14.1 percent. This number is a bit misleading, however, when analyzing Mitt Romney tax returns . It implies the Romneys kept 85.9 percent of what they earned, which isn’t the case. First off, they clamed $4.6 million in itemized deductions, including $1.3 million in state and local income taxes and $215,000 in real estate taxes. That’s more than $1.5 million they never saw, and the generous couple also donated $1.3 million in cash and another $921,000 in securities. Another $2.21 million they did not keep for themselves. The Romneys earned $2.2 million in qualified dividends and $6.8 million in capital gains in 2011, income taxed at the favorable rate of 15 percent. While this rate seems low, it has been taxed at the corporate level first at a higher rate – 35 percent. The government has been paid twice, in other words. Finally, the Romneys paid $103,000 in foreign taxes, which has nothing to do with offshore accounts, but global investments taxed in their nation of origin. According to this analysis, on $18.6 million of productivity, they paid $10.8 million in taxes and gifts to charity, keeping just 42.1 percent of what they produced. Yes, this still makes them extremely wealthy, and no, it does necessarily make Romney any more (or less) qualified to be President of the United States. Viewed through a different lens, however, Romney’s generosity and tax burden is not the example of responsibility-shirking greed his opponents might like you to believe. (The lone non-nude holdout is Mila Kunis .) The people have spoken, and they want skin! So who’s going to go on to our final Foxy 4 ? We’re making our predictions after the jump!

Republican Presidential Race: Rick Santorum Cruises to Kansas Caucus Win

The protracted race for the GOP presidential nomination grew a bit tighter today as Rick Santorum won the Kansas caucuses by an overwhelming margin. With 97 percents of the precincts reporting in the Sunflower State, Santorum earned 51 percent of the vote, with Mitt Romney second with 21 percent. Newt Gingrich with 14 percent and Ron Paul with 12 percent to finish in third and fourth, respectively. Alabama and Mississippi hold primaries Tuesday. Santorum stands to gain a substantial number of Kansas’ 40 delegates, which he called crucial to competitive in the race for his party’s nomination. “We have to do well here in Kansas,” Santorum said this week in Lenexa, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City. “We have to win here in Kansas, and win big.” Romney and Gingrich largely skipped Kansas in favor of the states voting next week. Santorum and Paul had been the most active campaigners in Kansas. Romney began the weekend with 339 delegates, with 107 for Gingrich, 95 for Santorum, and 22 for Paul, according to the Republican National Committee. The RNC totals do not reflect any wins in states where delegates are not bound to the winning candidates, and also differ from various media estimates. Romney remains the odds-on favorite to win the GOP nod and face off with President Obama in the fall, but his opponents clearly aren’t going quietly. With 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican nomination, it will take many more weeks for Mitt to reach that total, if he’s able to do so at all.

Ron Paul isn’t going to be the Republican nominee for President, but he’s been running a far more polished, professional campaign than he did in 2008, and he’s been far less reticent to go after his opponents. NBC’s O’Donnell: Palin ‘Rips the Heart Out of Her Opponents’ in New Book

NBC correspondent Norah O'Donnell hyped Sarah Palin's criticism of her liberal opponents on Tuesday's Today show, stating that the former governor ” rips the heart out of some of her opponents ” in her new book. O'Donnell stated that Palin, ” in very personal terms, also questions the President's [Obama's] patriotism, concluding he has 'a stark lack of faith in the American people.' ” The correspondent covered “America By Heart,” the Republican's second book, for the second straight day. Anchor Matt Lauer introduced her report, which began 40 minutes into the 7 pm Eastern hour, by immediately noting Palin's attacks on Mr. Obama: “Sarah Palin's much-anticipated new book hits stores today. NBC News received an advanced copy last night, and the former Alaska governor is not holding back when it comes to President Obama .” O'Donnell picked up where he left off: “Well, you know, her new book is called 'America By Heart.' It's full of what she calls 'reflections on faith, family and flag.' But with all the attacks on President Obama and others, some say it could be a handbook for her for a 2012 campaign .” read more
