‘Intersex’ Added To Gender Guidelines In Australia So now one will be able to choose “male”, “female” or “intersex” … Via Raw Story: The Australian government has announced new guidelines on gender recognition which state that individuals should be given the option of selecting “male”, “female” or “intersex” on their personal documents. Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus said the new guidelines, which come into operation from July 1, will make it simpler for people to establish or change their sex or gender in personal records held by federal government departments and agencies. “We recognise individuals may identify, and be recognised within the community, as a gender other than the gender they were assigned at birth or during infancy, or as an indeterminate gender,” Dreyfus said in a statement Thursday. “This should be recognised and reflected in their personal records held by departments and agencies.” The move comes after the Australian Human Rights Commission in 2009 recommended the government consider developing national guidelines concerning the collection of sex and gender information. The new guidelines state that “where sex and/or gender information is collected and recorded in a personal record, individuals should be given the option to select M (male), F (female) or X (Indeterminate/Intersex/Unspecified)”. They state that sex reassignment surgery and/or hormone therapy are not pre-requisites for the recognition of a change of gender in Australian government records. Nick Peterson absolutely stunned fans and co-stars alike with his decision to keep all the money for himself on the Bachelor Pad season finale last night. Leaving Rachel Trueheart both brokenhearted and broke, Nick’s controversial move proved that not everything in the Bachelor universe is totally contrived. It’s impossible not to feel bad for Rachel, who was already reeling, having developed real feelings for co-star Michael Stagliano that were not reciprocated. At least she would win $125,000 at the end of her Bachelor Pad ordeal, though … or so she thought. The often-overlooked Nick Peterson had other ideas. With his decidedly undiplomatic attitude after the fact, Nick probably didn’t handle the situation as well as he could have Monday night. But this is still a game. On merit, Peterson pulled off one of the all-time reality TV coups, outlasting a partner (and cast in general) that didn’t think he “deserved” to be there. Nobody in Rachel’s alliance gave a $h!t about Nick Peterson, who they considered a pawn, and who and planned on voting off as soon as they needed to. This is fact. However lucky he was to float through the game as long as he did – and to gain a legit shot when Michael was booted – he seized the chance. So there he was last night, with the option of splitting the cash with a partner who never liked him, or to roll the dice and go for broke. $250,000 or $0. He went for it, and won it. Rachel was stunned; their fellow cast members even more so. Sure, it was brutal, but the option is in play because it’s a game . Chris Bukowski probably would’ve done it, too, had he not burned so many bridges. It’s a competition first and a dating show second. People forget this. The British pop chanteuse has taken to her Facebook page to announce that the album is now expected to drop next year, instead of November as originally planned. “Just wanted to update everyone on the album!” she wrote . “I’m feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording! I have a collection of songs that I’m so in love with and I [know] there’s more to be born so it means the album will come early next year x.” Despite the delay, she did tease fans with a single, “Collide,” earlier this year. The song, written and produced by Autumn Rowe and produced by Sandy Vee, garnered attention when Swedish DJ Avicii claimed it was plagiarized from his 2010 track “Penguin.” Avicii was eventually given co-writing credits on the track, NME.com reports. A video for the song dropped this past summer and featured Lewis getting flirty on the beach. The dance-flavored track was something of a departure for Lewis, who made a name for herself with big ballads and mid-tempo hits like “Better in Time” and “Bleeding Love.” She’s reportedly been in the studio with a number of A-listers including Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, Ryan Tedder, Fraser T. In 2004, when Mystikal was locked up on sexual battery and extortion charges, Jay-Z was fresh off his “retirement,” Kanye West was just beginning his rookie year in rap and Lil Wayne was getting set to drop the first album in his now-famed Tha Carter series. Now, Kanye and Jay are the Throne and both enjoy veteran rap status, and Lil Wayne is sitting on top of the world. Mystikal recalls his fellow New Orleans rapper’s come-up and can’t help but feel a bit responsible for the growth. “Wayne was a student in my dojo before. I was a sensei before. I had big inspiration on him,” Mystikal said of the younger Weezy. “It’s gratifying to see him reach the heights that he reached with his hustle. So I’m proud of him.” Mystikal, who turned 41 last week, has a catalog of rap classics. Songs like “Shake Ya Ass” and “Danger” helped shine hip-hop’s light on his native New Orleans and the artists who hail from the Louisiana city. Still, the Tarantula isn’t content with his past hits. He has recently been in the studio with producer Mannie Fresh, cooking up a new batch of material. So how will this new Mystikal fit into hip-hop’s current landscape? “Just another option, just give them another option,” Mystikal told Mixtape Daily of what he hopes to offer to rap fans. “All the marquee artists are who they are; I don’t have to say no names.
