The veteran Teen Mom cast member has spoken to Us Weekly about a brand new project that she really hopes will make a difference in the lives of her fans. It's a podcast. But it's different than the podcast made famous by fellow MTV colleague Kailyn Lowry. In what way? And what will Messer's podcast be titled? Scroll down to find out! 1. Let’s Podcast! What is She Trying to Accomplish with It? “[It’s] a life transformational podcast,” the 26-year old explains to this tabloid. “Of course it’s fun … but it’s also inspirational, aspirational and motivational.” 4. Wait… Doesn’t Kailyn Lowry Have a Podcast?!? Yes, it’s called “Coffee Convos” and she co-hosts it with Lindsie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best. Does this mean Leah is trying to start a rivalry with her fellow MTV personality? 5. No, No, No, Leah Explains We’ll let Messer outline the differences: “Kail’s is day-to-day conversational and ours is more about transforming your life and learning how to become the best version of yourself. Even though they’re different, we love to support one another. I was on Kail’s and she was just on ours … the third episode I think.” 6. Who Might Appear? 90 Day Fiance star Paola Mayfield is pregnant with her first child . She and Russ are overjoyed. Some of her more hateful followers have tried to body-shame her over her pregnancy, demanding that she cover up her baby bump. Pao is hitting back with a photo of her wearing nothing at all — except rose petals. Paola shared this stunning photo of her very naked, very pregnant body in a rose petal bath. In the captions, she made it clear that this is how she has chosen to clap back at her body-shamers. “People have asked me if I‘m ever going to wear more clothes,” Pao’s caption begins. She continues: “my answer is… do rose petals count?” Paola remains an absolute delight, just as she was when she wrecked the shamers who told her to stop exercising . Paola has kept her fans updated on her pregnancy and her baby bump all along. Her caption continues with a recommendation that others try a bath like hers. “You too could benefit from this home spa,” Paola suggests. She adds that her bath is “with rose petals, coconut milk, and sea salt bath.” So, you might need a shower after such a bath if you really want to get clean. Paola says that the bath is “perfect to keep my skin soft and my muscles relaxed.” In case anyone had any doubts about who had taken the picture, she gives credit where credit is due. “Thank you baby for my photo @russ_mayfield,” Paola writes. In case it was not obvious, the photographer she tagged was none other than her husband, Russ Mayfield. His name’s right there. Paola then tagged her post: “#momtobe #homespa #proudofmypregnantbody #90dayfiance #babybump” She’s a fitness model and she’s proud of her body. Paola is in no hurry to cover up her curves, even if one of them is just a baby bump. Naturally, Paola’s body-shamers weren’t done trying to scold her into hiding her body. “Eeeeww,” exclaimed a super mature critic. “Still seeking attention in most unflattering ways….” “Save this type of photograph for your husband,” demanded another. “And only your husband. Nothing worse than a thirsty pregnant woman. I really want to like you.” Really? In all of the things in the world, there’s nothing worse than a pregnant woman who’s unashamed of her body? “Why the need to seek so much attention?” wrote another. “If you really were secure & didnt give a rats f–k you wouldn’t have to seek attention being half naked…just sayin.” She’s a fitness model, she cares about keeping her fans updated, and she’s a reality star. But Paola also has her genuine fans. “I don’t think anything is wrong with you being naked and pregnant,” wrote one defender. That person continued: “Those who are asking about you wearing clothes are probably jealous.” “Who cares about clothes?” asked another. “Motherhood is beautiful and so are you!” Another wasn’t technically a critic, but offered a very different sort of positive feedback: “Those tatas are getting huge!! I love it!!” Charming. “Wow !!! I guess Russ has really lightened up,” commented another. “Before he would have made a big fuss about you being in such a photo,” that person noted. “Now he not only allows it but hes the one taking the photo !!!” Yes, it looks like Russ has gotten past at least some of his weird hangups about Paola’s job. “Omg! Paola Mayfield has made it official: Two body parts of hers are growing these days. As previously announced, the 90 Day Fiance star is expecting her first child with husband Russ, as the reality stars themselves confirmed this blessed news just over a week ago on Instagram. Naturally, as a result, Mayfield’s belly is getting bigger by the month. But the TLC personality has also now made it clear via social media that something aside from her stomach has increased in size of late: Her heart. Indeed, Paola just shared a new, precious picture (above) of Russ kissing her baby bump, adding as a lengthy caption: “We are so thankful and happy for each one of your beautiful messages! We weren’t expecting so much love and so much support. Thank you all so much.” She then referenced some of the marital strife that she has been through over the past year or so. “You guys know all that Russ and I went through the past months,” Mayfield said in her caption, continuing in further detail: “I was angry and devastated after all you can never completely recover from something like that but today we have a reason to smile and to be happy, a reason to move forward and to be the best we can. “I wish I could keep up and like all your comments from my last post. I love you all so very much! “Thank you for living this amazing experience with us and for showing us so much love.” Mayfield is mostly referencing a miscarriage she suffered last year in this passage. As is the case with so many couples that go through this awful experience, Russ and Paola nearly hit a breaking point due to the tragedy. Paola made it pretty clear on air and in a few statements that she though Russ wasn’t there for her in the way she needed following the devastating news. Meanwhile, Russ thought his wife was trying to shut him out. It’s never been clear just how close the stars were to splitting, but their relationship hadn’t seemed entirely stable even before the miscarriage. The main storyline surrounding the Mayfields during their time on 90 Day Finance had been Paola’s penchant for posing nearly-naked and Russ’ unease over his wife showing the world such revealing assets. This was a legitimate issue between the husband and wife. It became so well known and questions about their relationship so pervasive that both sides of the romance semi-recently addressed their status online. “He accepts me,” Paola told fans in early July of Russ. “Loves me and respects me the way I am and lets me work even when he is not 100% comfortable.” Russ, for his part, also made it evident a short bit ago that he loves Paola and is committed to Paola and people need to stop claiming anything to the contrary. “I accept and am proud of my wife for the beautiful woman she is,” Russ has said , adding: “I am tired of the comments from the marriage ‘experts’ stating I deserve better, my wife doesn’t respect me, or she only loves me for my money and so on and so forth… “I am proud of where I come from. Late last year, Meadow Walker settled her lawsuit with Porsche over the death of her father, the late, great Paul Walker. Now, his family and loved ones are honoring him with a documentary about him, titled I Am Paul Walker . In the trailer for it below, you can see previously unreleased footage of him. Take a look: After a glimpse of footage at a young teenage Paul getting nervous in front of a camera, his brother Cody Walker speaks. “He was a big kid,” Cody says of his dearly departed brother. “He was a big kid.” Director Wayne Kramer also speaks about Paul. “That guy made the best of every single minute,” Wayne says. Wayne continues, saying: “He lived five lifetimes.” Paul was also survived by his sister, who speaks about how she remembers him “He liked to go fast,” Ashe Walker says. “As soon as I was old enough to hold on tight, I was on the back of his bigwheel with him going for the ride of my life.” Oakley Lehman, a childhood friend and a stunt performer, speaks of Paul's complexity and apparent contradictions. “The gun-toting hippie,” Oakley says of his late friend, praising Paul as the “balance of opposites.” “You know?” Oakley continues. “A lover and a fighter.” Another childhood friend, Andy Muxlow, refers to Paul's perpetual free spirit. “He's definitely not a puppet,” Andy says. “You know?” Andy asks. “He's definitely not somebody that's gonna just be told to do something and then do it.” Director Rob Cohen says that, as much as fans grew to love Paul Walker through the camera, that barely scratched the surface on the man he knew. “Cinema didn't capture it all,” Rob laments. “Couldn't capture it all.” Rob summarizes Paul's priorities in life: “'My daughter, my surfing. That's the life. And that's what I care about.'” Matt Luber, Paul's manager, speaks about how Paul was not obsessed with is status as a celebrity or even as an actor. “Paul was always an actor who had one foot in and one foot out. He could just disappear,” Matt says. Caleb Walker, Paul's other brother, speaks of Paul's occassional impulses and fantasies of solitary anonymity. “He'd always say, like, 'I want to be a park ranger.' You know?” Caleb says. “Make 28 grand a year, live in the wilderness. That's really what he wanted to do.” Rhett Walker, Paul's uncle, gushes about the impact that his late nephew had on countless individuals. “I can actually say he did a lot of things that made a lot of difference in a lot of people's lives,” Rhett says. Not everyone can say the same. Tyrese Gibson is an actor and was one of Paul's costars in the Fast and Furious franchise. “He was a giver,” Tyrese says. “If you loved him the way we did, you would say 'Well, why him and not us?'” That is a normal way to grieve a lost friend. Time and time again, Paola Mayfield’s friend, Juan, has clashed with her husband, Russ. Juan has made no secret that he objects to their relationship. So how is he taking the happy news that Paola is pregnant with Russ’ baby ? Paola suggests that it ultimately doesn’t matter — because she’s pregnant, and Juan just has to accept it. Paola Mayfield tells Us Weekly that she broke the news of her pregnancy to Juan just a day before it went public. Pao explains what she said to Juan: “I told him, ‘Look, this is gonna happen, so I don’t want you to find out through someone else.'” That makes sense. She also describes his reaction: “And he was like, ‘I’m about to cry.'” But … perhaps not in the way that viewers of 90 Day Fiance might expect. These were happy tears. “‘Even though I know I’m not a big fan of Russ,'” Paola says that Juan said. “‘This is amazing because I love you and I know what you’ve been through, so I’m really happy for you.'” That is so sweet of him to say! Paola admits that she was “surprised” by how positive his reaction was, knowing that this baby will tie her forever to the man whom he believes to be too controlling. So, will this baby help — or force — Juan and Russ to mend fences? “I want to believe [it will],” Pao says. “But he has to accept it no matter what.” Juan can’t just wish away this pregnancy news — or her marriage. Even though he’s been trying with the latter. “There’s nothing he can do about it,” Paola says very directly. “And I don’t want the negativity around us because we’re going to be parents.” So, in other words, she’s leery of having him come around. But she says that she’s not banning Juan from visiting. “I’m not gonna say no,” Paola says about a potential visit from Juan. “But he’s definitely going to need to be more respectful if he’s gonna wanna hang around.” More respectful towards Russ. Or, at least, more polite and less confrontational. “[He needs to be] more civil, cordial,” Pao laments. “That’s all I’ve asked from him.” Earlier this week, Paola gushed about her pregnancy news. “This is the most amazing feeling ever!” Paola announced. “We can’t believe we are going to be parents —– we are already so in love with our baby.” That is so touching! “We are ready for this new adventure,” Paola said at the time. “And we know it will bring us closer together.” Which Juan will just have to accept, as she said. Paola gushed: “God has blessed us again, and this time, we are going as strong as our baby’s heartbeat!” Of course, just because Juan is totally onboard with Baby Mayfield doesn’t mean that everyone will be. First of all, both Paola and Russ have plenty of haters. Some agree with Juan that Russ is too controlling and tries to make Paola conform to his life. (He’s gotten so much better about accepting her career, though) Others feel that Paola should abandon Miami and her modeling career and worship the feet of her lord husband (or whatever) and be grateful to live a quiet life in Oklahoma. For the record, Russ has defended Paola against these trolls. Finally, there will be another wave of haters with whom Russ and Pao have less experience — pregnancy shamers. Everything from the cereal Paola eats to the size and shape of her baby bump will be given intense scrutiny by social media commenters. Ugh. People with dynamite figures like hers — and abs for days like hers — often have smaller baby bumps. There are trolls out there who live to tell fitness-oriented women that their wombs will be crushed by their abs or whatever. You just have to ignore it. Paola and Russ Mayfield are a 90 Day Fiance couple that keeps on going. They have their controversies, sure, but they love each other and stay together. Usually, when it comes to Paola and Russ, any disagreements see fans taking sides. Some say that Russ is too jealous or controlling, others say that Paola should quit modeling. That sort of thing. This time, these two have stirred up a very different sort of controversy. Paola Mayfield and Russ are an attractive couple. But are their Halloween costumes problematic and offensive? The short answer is: yes. That doesn’t mean that we aren’t still huge Paola fans. In fact, we were rooting for Paola to win Maxim ‘s contest , which could be an amazing boost to her modeling career. But dressing as Native Americans for Halloween is a big no-no. It’s just below blackface and Nazi symbols on the list of what to never, ever wear. Why? Because of America’s history of genocide against Native Americans, basically. Native Americans are still heavily marginalized, but white Americans love to adopt their symbols as their own. A general guide to life is: If a marginalized person tells you that what you’re doing is kinda screwed up, don’t get defensive. Just ask how you can change. Anyway, apparently none of this crossed Russ and Paola’s minds as they donned their couples costumes and got into double trouble. Paola shared the photos on Instagram, and the backlash in the comments was immediate: One comment read: “Not a fan of this costume at all! disgusting. Next year go as ketchup and mustard. Leave the traditional wear to the people that actually!!!! wear it for their cultures! Sickening people still think this is okay. Not a fan of miss @paola_mayfield so much anymore. #dobetter” We don’t know that one needs to stop being her fan, but that’s every individual’s choice. Here are some other comments: “Ummm, cultural appropriation much?” “Agree! It is disrespectful!! I am disappointed again!!” “It’s not an issue about sensitivity. It’s an issue of DISRESPECT of a people/culture as well as an APPROPRIATION by the dominant culture who has sought out to eliminate Native American people since the 1400s.” “Oh honey. No.” “Wtf?!? Not ok!!!!” “Tasteless, Native regalia is not a Halloween costume.” As you can see, some of those commenters tried to explain. Others just expressed their disgust. A few thought to differentiate between Paola and Russ. “Ah yes a white guy in native headdress and an over sexualized Native American woman…this is not okay.” One repeated a helpful motto: “Its a Culture NOT A COSTUME!!” Oh, and some of the commenters were Nativa Americans, for whom this issue hits very close to home. “My culture is not your costume @paola_mayfield .. this is so sad and offensive.” As you can imagine, there were opposing opinions presented, too. These were folks from the “who cares if it’s bad, I don’t want to change my behavior or think about how my actions impact others” camp. And, just like during the 2016 election, these people were out in force. “You guys look great! Too bad the world is so sensitive these days that even halloween costumes r censored!” Costumes aren’t censored, that’s not what that word means. But people can and should make wise choices about what they wear. “And here come the PC offended ….” People love to misuse “politically correct,” which is a largely meaningless term that’s usually used by people who just aren’t interested in being better people. “Halloween isn’t about representing a cultures struggle it’s about having fun! People are so worried about hurting feelings that nothing is allowed anymore.” That commenter, who apparently forgets that Native Americans exist and might have less fun in the face of such a mocking costume, continued. “I’m from Canada … and there are still indigenous costumes sold and worn. “I think they have beautiful traditional costume and choosing to dress up in one is not disrespectful in anyway. What are people ‘allowed’ to dress up as now a days. Geez! Everything will offend someone.” It’s worth noting that there are literally thousands of Native American women missing in Canada without any explanation. Our polite neighbors to the north aren’t a better authority on how to treat indigenous folks. Another commenter added hyperbole: “People read into way to much now if someone wears a feather in their hat it’s called discrimination I could add so many other examples but it would take me forever get over it people look at it as fun dressing up just love live enjoy #tomuch hate in this world” There are basically endless costume choices. Don’t dress as an outfit to either ridicule or sexualize a marginalized person. There aren’t many rules, but that’s one of them, and it’s super easy to follow. “Get over it. Everything has to be an upset and about race these days. Stop being so up tight and sensitive. It’s not a big deal. There are better things to be up in arms about…” If there’s one thing that minority groups like Native Americans love to hear, it’s “get over it.” That’s right up there with “it’s just a little genocide.” In case you’re concerned about the state of the world (which, actually, you should be) because these comments are so polarized, know that some commenters understand nuance. “She probably doesn’t know. She’s from a different culture.” And that, we think, might be the crux of it. Russ wasn’t able to predict the backlash, we suppose, because he’s a conservative white guy from Oklahoma. That’s not an excuse, mind you. Paola, however, is Columbian. She may have somewhat fair skin, but she is from Central America. She’s not quite. While that doesn’t make Paola part of any Plains Native American ethnic groups and doesn’t fully excuse the costume, it’s something to keep in mind. More to the point, as one of the commenters stated, Paola is still adapting to American culture and was almost certainly not aware that this costume would invite backlash. We can afford to be forgiving, folks. An apology — especially from Russ — would be appropriate, though. Paola Mayfield has lashed out at critics pretty fearlessly, but when it comes to worries that she’s going to disappoint Russ, she’s a nervous (gorgeous) wreck. Because she’s in lingerie for a modeling job, and even though she’s going through with it because she’s a professional, she knows that her conservative husband doesn’t like it when she shows skin outside of the bedroom. This 90 Day Fiance couple may be in some serious trouble. … Paola and Russ Mayfield are somewhere in the middle, as far as 90 Day Fiance couples and the quality of their relationships are concerned. They’re doing way better than the now split Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali . And also way better than the definitely-should-split Jorge Nava and Anfisa Arkhipchenko . But they’re not as close and cuddly as the picture-perfect, totally amicable Alan Cox and Kirlyam, who are expecting a child soon. As we’ve mentioned, the primary source of conflict between Paola and Russ isn’t cheating or money; it’s Paola’s job. Paola is a fitness model and now a certified personal trainer. Russ isn’t very comfortable with how she dresses … or how little she dresses … for work. (Even though he married a model and you’d think that he’d have understood that from day one) The issue this time is that Russ has been insistent very recently on 90 Day Fiance that Paola shouldn’t wear lingerie outside of the bedroom. We’ll get into that in a moment. On an upcoming episode of 90 Day Fiance , Paola has booked a gig where she’s a model in a music video. But Paola is going against Russ’ wishes . Because she’s wearing lingerie. She looks incredible, of course. ( So great that in a couple of shots, they decided to blur out her body) But she’s a nervous wreck because, while Russ wants her to find work, he doesn’t want Paola wearing lingerie on camera. (Though she is in a bedroom, we’d like to point out) Paola gets so worked up about upsetting Russ with her outfit that she throws up, twice. That’s hard to imagine for some folks — different people’s stomachs are more or less nervous than others. (Personally, I haven’t thrown up since January 2004, and I plan to keep it that way) But it shows how much she cares about his feelings and wants to make him happy. Russ issuing edicts about what he is and isn’t okay with Paola wearing, including for work, doesn’t sit well with us at all. First of all, my guy, sometimes (as in this case) that is literally part of her job. Second of all, she is your wife — not your property. She’s a professional, and that means wearing what she needs to on set and not either losing a gig or ruining a music video by insisting that things go her way. Good for Paola. Paola does confess her anxieties to the director. “I’m freaking out,” she says at one point. “My husband is a really conservative guy and for him, he doesn’t know I’m wearing lingerie.” We wonder how often directors hear that kind of thing. “He’s going to freak out. He’s going to kill me. I feel like I want to throw up.” We don’t think that Paola means that she actually fears for her life or safety. It’s worth noting that Paola and Russ are, last that we checked, still together. Reality show footage is always a little behind the times, so this issue is hopefully something that the couple has already worked out. We’ll just have to keep watching 90 Day Fiance to find out exactly how they work it out. Hopefully their solution will involve Russ putting on his big-boy pants and realizing that Paola can dress for work however she needs to. Whether it’s his ego or his Oklahoma values or whatever that’s getting him all worked up about Paola wearing lingerie for modeling, he needs to get used to it and be supportive of her career. Paola’s stomach shouldn’t be in knots while she’s at a shoot. She needs to focus on her work while she’s at work, not worry if it’s going to end her marriage. When you look at this situation, you can’t help but feel for Paola.
Just because Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali are no longer married doesn’t mean that the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? couple is done forever with reality television. In fact, it sounds like Danielle already has something lined up. The best 90 Day Fiance couple would have to be Kirlyam and Alan Cox, right? In case you missed it, Kirlyam Cox is pregnant and due in just two months! The worst couple on that series would easily be Anfisa Arkhipchenko and Jorge Nava and their toxic , sometimes violent relationship. Paola Mayfield and Russ are somewhere in the middle. Mohamed Jbali and Danielle Mullins may not be as bad as Anfisa and Jorge, but they’re still pretty close to the bottom. As a couple, they were so toxic together that they’re now divorced. In the end, while Mohamed came across as selfish and sleazy and probably a cheater , Danielle herself didn’t seem like a great person. Which is a shame, because she could have tried to present herself as a sympathetic victim. People would have ignored Mohamed’s claims that she had a strange, foul body odor if she’d made herself likable, you know? Instead, she comes across as spiteful. It seems like she set out to ruin Mohamed Jbali’s life as punishment for not having sex with her except for that one time that they banged . Mohamed himself isn’t a great person, either. But after the way that Danielle treated him, people hardly blamed him for hiding from her. (Remember when Mohamed Jbali was missing ? He was okay, but that was weird ) In an interview, Danielle Mullins announces that she’s going to be on more reality shows. (Probably starting with From Not To Hot , though that’s really a guess) Specifically, she’s signed on with GR Media, who’ve represented … um, such esteemed individuals as Mama June and Farrah Abraham. And Danielle is crediting her haters for her continuing career. “Well, I can say that because of their hate, I’m going to be starting a new journey.” Ah, yes. Because of their hate. For the record, we think that people were hateful because she and Mohamed had an aggressively toxic relationship. There’s a difference between a person on television whose storyline people enjoy and a person who will get people to follow them. We have yet to see whether Danielle can attract viewers out of the context of a dysfunctional engagement and a crumbling marriage. Danielle Mullins says that what makes her so appealing is her popularity, though, so maybe GR Media knows something that we don’t. “Because I’ve been so popular with the 90 Day series, I’ve recently signed on with Gina Rodriguez [head of GR Media] to manage me. And she’s the manager of Mama June. So she has some big plans for me.” Again, these are also the people behind Farrah Abraham. So … if Danielle makes a transformation on From Not To Hot , is she also going to follow it up with a sex tape? If so, we’re guessing that Mohamed Jbali will take a hard pass. There’s too much bad blood between them, for sure. As for 90 Day Fiance , Danielle isn’t sure that she’s going to appear on the show again. “I don’t know if we’ll be back for another season because, like I said, I signed with Gina, and she has another show in mind for me.” We look forward to the announcement of what it will be.
