On the CLEO TV show  “JUST EATS WITH CHEF JJ “,  JJ Johnson brings in former American Idol alum Kimberly Locke and black movie icon Taral Hicks a.k.a. Keisha from “Belly.” The two beauties enjoy some intimate conversation and laughs with JJ while preparing  Adobo Chicken and Raw Collard Green Salad with a Creamy Coconut Dressing. Kimberly dishes on her new music and television projects, while Taral reflects on the 20th anniversary of her portrayal of Keisha in between talking new ventures. JJ also shares modern techniques for slicing vegetables, seasoning meats and preparing an original sauce from scratch while sipping red wine. A game then takes place and some interesting questions get asked. Soooo we should keep the oysters, Ginuwine and Old Fashions away from JJ unless we wanna get in some trouble? Duly noted. Tune into the next episode of  JUST EATS WITH CHEF JJ  to find what happens behind the scenes at JJ’s supper club. Chadwick Boseman Gives Waffle House Hero James Shaw Jr. “Best Hero” MTV Movie Award

Source: Chris Polk/VMN18 / Getty Chadwick Boseman was pretty much a shoe-in to win the “Best Hero” trophy at this year’s MTV Movie Awards show for his portrayal of King T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther . When accepting his award, Boseman called out James Shaw Jr., the hero who averted the Waffle House crisis in Tennessee, and gave him the trophy. CNN reports : “Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing, but it’s even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life,” Boseman said. “So I just want to acknowledge somebody that’s here today. James Shaw Jr. Where are you? Stand. If you don’t know James Shaw Jr., he fought off a gunman in Antioch, Tennessee at a Waffle House. He saved lives. Come on up here.” Shaw then took the stage and Boseman handed him the golden popcorn award, “This is gonna live at your house.” Shaw was grazed by a bullet while grappling with the gunman and burned his right hand grabbing the barrel of the weapon. Beyonce Drops NEW Video for "Formation" Featuring Blue Ivy!

For members of the Beyhive who've been grinding their teeth like a coke fiend in anticipation of a new hit from their queen, the wait is finally over. That's right, Beyonce has just released a new music video for “Formation,” her first solo since 2014. The video features a cameo from Queen Bey's four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, but the music and explicit lyrics are decidedly more hardcore than we typically see from 'Yonce.  Set in New Orleans, the vid pays tribute to the Creole city, particularly its black culture, and features the Bootylicious singer in a variety of locales throughout its disparate neighborhoods. One scene features Bey on the hood of a partially-submerged police car in a re-creation of the floods that took place following Hurricane Katrina. The only oddity of this portrayal is how she croons about rocking her couture “Givenchy dress,” although most of the folks affected by Katrina were living in poverty. Not to worry, Beyonce still slays, as the lyrics point out repeatedly, and there's plenty of killer dance moves and thigh-baring bodysuits we have come to expect from the queen. As one YouTube user put it, “I FEEL SO LUCKY FOR BEING ALIVE AT THE SAME TIME AS BEYONCE.” We feel you, little buzzy bee. We feel you. Check out the video below. What do you think?

McGraw-Hill To Rewrite Textbooks After Mom Complains About Slavery Term Book publishing giant McGraw-Hill is saying it will rewrite a textbook after a Pearland mother voiced concerns on YouTube about the portrayal of slaves as immigrant “workers” in her son’s school book . Via ABC 7 Chicago : In the video, Texas mom Roni Dean-Burren calls out the textbook, “World Geography.” Dean-Burren pointed viewers to a section called “Patterns of Immigration.” Reading from the book, she notes the inclusion of slaves as immigrants. “‘Immigrants,’ yeah, that word matters,” Dean-Burren said, “(Reading from the text) ‘The Atlantic slave trade between the 1500s and the 1800s brought millions of workers from Africa to the southern United States to work on agricultural plantations. So (slavery) is now considered ‘immigration’.” She adds, in an adjacent section on European immigrants, that many came as “indentured servants to work for little or no pay.” Dean-Burren continues, “So they say that about English and European people, but there is no mention of Africans working as slaves or being slaves. It just says we were workers.” Dean-Burren also pointed out in her video that several professional consultants and the Texas Advisory Board are listed in the front of the book, and supposedly signed off on the book’s text. McGraw-Hill responded to Dean-Burren on its Facebook page, saying they would fix the section in the next print run and on their digital version of the book. Facebook/YT

Courtney Stodden & Doug Hutchison: Destined to Be Together, Her Mom Says

Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison, who recently reconciled after separating in 2013, are destined to be together, according to her mom Krista Keller. The infamous couple, who got married in 2011 when Stodden was 16 and Hutchison was 51, had been legally separated for nearly nine months. Now, with Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison engaged a second time, her mom is speaking out about why they split, and what brought them back. “It was probably hard for Doug at times, [Courtney] still working with him, knowing that she’s dating other people and that type of thing,” Keller said. But, if you love somebody, set them free, right? “Just recently, they just both really realized what they want is each other, they want to be together.” Stodden, now 19, decided to try out single life after discovering some independence during her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013. “She kind of was exploring being 19,” says Keller, who is also the model’s manager, “and just being alone and exploring the life of a 19 year old.” “It was a legal separation, and she started dating and started going out with different guys, and then she had someone to compare Doug to,” Keller goes on. In the end, though, all that did was make her see the light: “She really realized that she has a really great husband … her first choice was her choice!” Keller, who famously signed the form allowing her then-underage daughter to marry a man in his 50s, says she’s never doubted the actor , now 54. “Doug was so gracious and said ‘I’m going to be a man here … I’m going to let her explore and see if this is what she wants,’” Keller says of Hutchison. The couple is currently living together again, and planning to renew their vows this year, only “This time she doesn’t need my signature!” Keller jokes.
