When Catfish Activism Goes Wrong: Facebook Shuts Shaun King Down Over Racist Isht He Didn’t Even Say

Daily News Columnist Shaun King Suspended From Facebook For Sharing Hate Mail Twitter Despite all types of requests for receipts and changes in the ways he profits from Black pain, Shaun King is still out here tryna prove he’s down for the people. Unfortunately, this latest attempt didn’t go as planned, according to CBS News . “Every day I get as many — 50 or more sometimes — overtly racist emails. I even get mail now at the New York Daily News office … ‘Silence of the Lambs’ weird stuff,” said King. “Sometimes I’ll take a screen shot of one of these ugly things and post it.” On Friday morning, King took a screen shot of an email he received that used both the f- and n-words, and posted it on Twitter and Facebook saying this is the type of ugliness he gets “every day all day.” A few hours later when he went to Facebook, King says he had been logged out. When he logged back in he got a message saying he had been suspended from posting for 24 hours. “I am constantly harassed on Facebook and Twitter. … I don’t know if these people have been blocked. The policy is not clear to me.” “I accept that Facebook and every other social media platform is trying hard how to monitor and censor the ugliness that goes on,” King said. “If the policy is we don’t allow hate speech and people to be harassed, I say great – delete it. But don’t ban people.” King noted that it was odd that his Facebook post was blocked because the offensive language was in a screen grab, rather than a typed message. Which means, if the censoring was automatic, there would have had to be some sort of visual recognition program to read the words off the image. Poor thang. But wait: Facebook is blocking people from words in pictures now? What part of the game is that? Continue reading

He also revealed he has been wearing girl’s garments since his youth and has never had a problem bending gender norms. “When I was 12, my feet were so small I wore my sisters’ glitter shoes,” he said. “My dad would whoop me: ‘You’re not going to school now, you’ll embarrass us!’ But I never gave a fuck what people think.” Congratulations to Young Thug! Justin Bieber Changes Hair AGAIN: What Did He Do Now??

It’s been quite the year for Justin Bieber’s hair. The singer has changed it up numerous times already in 2016, and it seems he just can’t settle on a style he likes. At the beginning of the year, he rocked this long-on-top, short-on-the-sides do and sported a man bun. Then the strands grew into a tangled mess and he dyed it purple . After tiring of that, he completely freaked out fans by getting dreadlocks , an oh-so controversial decision that he later defended. But it doesn’t stop there, and so far we’re only in April! For his next coiffure du jour, the Biebs cut off all the dreads and went with a buzz cut, as depicted above, and teenage girls fell back in love. That leaves us here, at present day.  On June 4, 2016, we present to you the 2016 Justin Bieber Hairdo #5: Platinum again! Our minds are blown, and we’re not sure if it’s because of how nicely the color complements his skin tone or that we actually dedicated an entire post to Justin Bieber’s hair. But, hey, you clicked for a reason. It’s certainly not as bad as when fans losts their minds upon hearing of Justin’s face tattoo , though. I mean, hair grows, but let’s be real, his face is what catapulted him to stardom. Maybe his singing and dancing had a little to do with it. And his abs. Eminem Producer Alex Da Kid Is ‘Confident’ In His Grammy Chances

Two of his songs — Em’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and B.o.B’s ‘Airplanes’ — are facing off for Record of the Year. By Steven Roberts Alex Da Kid Photo: Gabriel Bouys/AFP/Getty Images Producer Alex Da Kid has had quite the year, collaborating with Eminem and Rihanna on the chart-topping “Love the Way You Lie” as well as B.o.B and Hayley Williams on the equally anthemic “Airplanes.” Now that the 2011 Grammy nominations have been announced, Alex has racked up a few nods, and his two biggest hits will even duke it out for Record of the Year. MTV News caught up with Alex via phone Thursday (December 2), and he said he was extremely excited about the recognition but wasn’t surprised: He knew these songs would put him on the map from day one. “I remember sitting in the studio with Em and being like, ‘I’m writing my Grammy speech right now,’ ” Alex recalled. “He hates all that stuff, and he hates it when I say stuff like that, but I really believed in it from the start.” Alex’s first major song was B.o.B’s “Airplanes,” which he said paved the way for his second Grammy-nominated song, “Love the Way You Lie.” Eminem — who received 10 nominations himself — is featured on “Airplanes Pt. II,” and Alex said their relationship grew from there. The rookie producer faces stiff competition in the Record of the Year category — where he faces off against Cee Lo’s “F— You,” Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” — but Alex remains confident about his chances. “I mean, I think they’re pretty good,” he told MTV News of his pair of tracks. “I’m a confident person, and they’re my favorite songs out of the category we’re in, but you never know.” Do you think Alex has a good shot come Grammy night?
