Will you be watching next month?? Randy’s throwin’ a lot of shade at all of the other music competitions out there, and in the latest promo released, he runs us through a list of successful artists who got their start on Idol . According to The Hollywood Reporter , he may have a point… The latest American Idol season 12 promo featuring Randy Jackson continues to hammer the theme that the Fox competition is the “gold standard … of singing shows” having produced more artists who have sold “millions sellers of records.” To solidify its point, a checklist of successful Idol alums — Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Clay Aiken, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, David Cook, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Scotty McCreery (curiously, no Adam Lambert??) — is flashed across the screen. “We have a country superstar in Carrie Underwood. We’ve had an Oscar winner in Jennifer Hudson, I mean, you’ve got Daughtry,” Jackson said. “Look what Phillip Phillips has done this year with the song ‘Home.’” Jackson drives the point home with his final thoughts as Phillips’ sales records of 2 million are illustrated across his image. “The show has truly permeated the whole world of entertainment,” he said. “We are the original. We are the Picasso. You can try and copy, but you can never duplicate.” Idol returns Jan. 16. Okay now tell the truth. Will you keep watching season 12 once the train-wreck auditions are over?? Snooki is showing off her maternal side. The main man in the Jersey Shore star’s life is Lorenzo Dominic LaValle, born just a couple of weeks ago. Like her co-stars, he’s loud and up at all hours of the night! Snook seems like she’s taken to motherhood and her changing lifestyle well, at least for the time being. The star (real name Nicole Polizzi) is all about momming. “I love you,” she tweeted Saturday, with this cute pic: Will she be a perennial Mom of the Year contender? That remains to be seen, but in the early going, she seems quite smitten with her new role, and her little man. “Ugh just looking at Lorenzo and I start crying happy tears!” the 24-year-old former train wreck wrote last week. “I’ve never been so happy in my life!!!” Snooki and fiance Jionni Lavalle have been adjusting to parenthood, and that means occasionally fighting off insults from those who say they’re not ready. “I’m surprised your pump bra doesn’t pump alcohol instead of milk,” one user wrote on Twitter, to which Snooki replied: “Good one. Forget The Avengers. The new American Idol judging team is now officially assembled. A day after Fox confirmed Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban as the show’s new panelists – joining already-announced Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson – the network has released the first official promotional photo of this quartet and host Ryan Seacrest. Looks like The Dawg is in his usual seat… American Idol heads in to Season 12 with a number of questions, following its lowest rated run of episodes in years. With this new unit change the show’s fortunes, appealing to fans of country, pop and rap as the series clearly hopes? Will Carey and Minaj clash on set? And does Fox secretly hopes that’s the case? Randy Jackson Returning To American Idol Looks like the American Idol executives will have one less seat to fill for the upcoming season of show after all. Despite numerous early reports to the contrary, it turns out the American Idol veteran Randy Jackson will be returning to the judges table in this upcoming season alongside Mariah Carey. Allegedly the deal was completed after talks with Latin singing star Enrique Iglesias fell through. Ace Showbiz reports: Randy Jackson will serve as a judge on “American Idol” for another season, latest report says. Following speculations about his future on the show, Deadline learns from “sources close to the situation” that the R&B singer/music producer has closed a deal with FOX to stay on the show with the same role. According to the site, the deal-making was wrapped quickly after talks with Enrique Iglesias broke off. While the network hasn’t confirmed it yet, Simon Cowell stated the same with his tweet. The British producer, who was also a judge on the veteran singing competition, shared to his Twitter followers on Monday, September 10, “Just heard randy is back on idol. Right decision.” Randy himself refused to address his status on the veteran singing competition when visiting “Today” that morning. Asked by co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb if he’s still a judge on “Idol”, he dodged the question by saying, “Listen, it’s an amazing show. My friend Mariah Carey is there. I think she’s going to bring a lot of excitement to it. Let’s see what happens.” So wait, who’s place will Randy be taking ? So much for Randy Jackson being in the Dawg house. Following reports that claimed this long-time judge would be moved to a mentor capacity on American Idol Season 12, Deadline confirms that the music producer once again be in his regular spot when the Fox competition returned in January. “Just heard Randy is back on Idol,” Tweeted former castmate Simon Cowell last night. “Right decision.” It’s still unclear which stars will join Jackson and new panelist Mariah Carey, who have collaborated on a number of hit songs. The leading contenders for the remaining spots are Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Enrique Igelsias, though sources say Adam Lambert is still under consideration.
