Report: Unopened James Holmes Letter Detailed Plans for Massacre

According to a new report, James Holmes actually alerted a psychologist at the University of Colorado to his plans to commit mass murder… only the recipient never opened the package in question. Fox News says the Colorado shooting suspect mailed a notebook “full of details about how he was going to kill people” to the school’s mail room, which is where police and FBI agent found it this week. “There were drawings of what he was going to do in it – drawings and illustrations of the massacre,” an insider with knowledge told Fox, adding that the photos drawn in a spiral-bound notebook’s pages depict a gun-wielding stick figure opening fire on other stick figures. The package has reportedly been sitting in the mailroom since July 12 and was never delivered to the professor to whom it was addressed. It is now in the hands of the FBI. It’s unclear if the recipient ever had any contact with Holmes, but he or she treats patients at a psychiatry outpatient facility on campus. Holmes was a student at the school’s neuroscience doctoral program until a few weeks ago. In related, far more positive news: Christian Bale visited victims of the tragedy in Aurora yesterday.

Babysitter Says She Saw Mel Gibson Flip Out

Mel Gibson apparently freaked out the day Oksana Grigorieva says he hit her. While a babysitter didn’t see an attack, she witnessed a meltdown prior to it. The babysitter for Mel and Oksana was front and center for the beginning of the January 6 fight which Oksana says ended in Gibson punching her in the face. Their baby daughter Lucia, now eight months, was also hurt in the attack, Oksana claims. Mel, via his attorneys, has denied any physical assault happened. In the hours before the incident occurred that day, Oksana went to a basketball game. Mel, Lucia and a babysitter were by themselves at his Malibu home. According to TMZ, the babysitter says Mel ” began freaking out ” while Oksana was gone, “slamming doors, cussing and screaming at someone on the phone.” What sent Mel Gibson through the roof on Jan. 6 and Feb. 18? The babysitter says Mel was screaming to someone on the phone, “I want to f*%king destroy you.” It’s not clear who the recipient of that threat was/is. Remember, this is not when the shocking Mel Gibson meltdown, during which he threatens Oksana and Lucia , was recorded by her on various phone calls. That was February 18 . On January 6, the sitter called Oksana, urging her to come home because of the actor’s behavior, saying “Mel was possessed and completely out of control.” The babysitter was present when Oksana returned home but left before any violence occurred – if it even occurred at all, depending on who you believe. Other sources are questioning the sitter’s claims, because – similar to the alleged abuse photo Oksana produced – they never surfaced until right now. On the flip side, people connected with the babysitter say she didn’t come forward because she’s fearful of Mel and is currently fighting stage 4 cancer.

Ali Fedotowsky "Shocked" By Jake Pavelka Rejection

On last night’s episode of The Bachelor , Ali Fedotowsky made an emotional call to Jake Pavelka. Or at least held a phone to her ear and pretended to cry. One week after she left The Bachelor for professional reasons, the 25-year-old made a passionate plea to return Monday. Jake reluctantly shot her down. Ali explained that she couldn’t sleep or focus on work, and that she made a huge mistake. She says she was ” pretty shocked ” Jake didn’t want her back. “One of the reasons it was OK for me to leave was because I thought if he really cares about me, then he is going to come and find me,” Ali laments. She tells Ellen DeGeneres in an interview Tuesday that she thought he’d “fly to get me that would be amazing… I thought we had something great.” Chris Harrison feed you that line, Ali? The face of rejection … and possibly the next Bachelorette. Following Gia Allemand’s elimination on Monday’s episode, Ali Fedotowsky is reluctant to predict the recipient of Jake Pavelka’s final rose this season. Although she’s “really good friends” with Tenley Molzahn, she says she was “startled” by the connection Vienna and Jake have. It is rather startling. “I didn’t realize that was happening behind the scenes or when I wasn’t around. They look like a good couple. I actually think it could be Vienna.” The Bachelor spoilers we’ve read favor Vienna Girardi as well. Yech. As for rumors she might become The Bachelorette , Ali says: “That would be so nice. I would be so flattered. If [ABC] asked, that would be so great.” Wonder if she’d choose work over that gig. Somehow we doubt it. If you ask us, this was a clever ruse to orchestrate exactly such a starring role. Anyway, with Ali out, who should Jake choose?

‘Sexting In America: When Privates Go Public’ Explores Pitfalls Of Sexting

MTV News special told the stories of teens burned by sharing nude photos. By Gil Kaufman Photo: Bilderlounge/ Getty Images What seems like an innocent, flirtatious teenage gesture — sending an explicit picture of yourself to a boyfriend — could land you in way more trouble than you might imagine. That was the message of MTV News’ half-hour special “Sexting in America: When Privates Go Public” , in which we took a closer look at the dangers of sexting and the serious repercussions for the people who send and receive naked pictures of peers on their mobile phones and other devices. You met New Jersey teen Ally, whose world was turned upside down when a former boyfriend forwarded a private sext she’d sent him, leading to ridicule and taunting from her peers that lasted several years. “It was one picture, and he sent it out to everybody in his address book,” the now-20-year-old told MTV News. “We were broken up, and I guess he did it to make himself seem cool. I never thought anybody else would see it. … It was an impulsive thing that I did.” And you heard the story of Phillip Alpert , who sent out sexually explicit pictures of his underage teenage girlfriend when he was an 18-year-old senior, which led to his arrest on child-pornography charges. He was ordered to register as a sex offender, a status he could have for the next 20-plus years. “I’ve actually had a lot of neighbors come to my door before … to check if it was safe for their kids to play around outside, with me here,” Alpert said in the show. “I’m extremely sorry for what I did, but the sex-offender thing, which is going to last until I’m 43, that’s overkill.” Images taken of someone under the age of 18 can constitute child pornography, according to Parry Aftab, an Internet privacy and security lawyer. “If you take a picture, you can be accused of producing child pornography; if you send it to somebody, you can be accused of distributing child pornography; and if you keep a picture, you can be accused of possessing child pornography,” Aftab explained. “Anywhere along this chain of transmission of the images, you can be charged as a registered sex offender.” You might expect your sext message to remain private, but nearly one in five sext recipients report that they have passed the images along to someone else, with more than half saying that they just assumed others would want to see them, followed by a desire to show off and boredom. According to an MTV poll, three in 10 young people reported that they’d been involved in some type of naked texting. Sexting has made its way into pop culture through appearances on “90210” and a recent Super Bowl ad featuring Megan Fox for Motorola. Perhaps the most famous celebrity case involved Fall Out Boy ‘s Pete Wentz, who has spoken about how much he regrets the 2006 leak of his full-frontal photos. If you receive a sext, delete it immediately, Aftab recommends. And keep in mind that once you take a photo on your phone, it never goes away. “It could be in a million places, and you never know who got a copy,” Aftab said. “If you take it on your phone and texted it, a copy exists with your cell phone carrier and on [the recipient’s] phone. Maybe he e-mailed it to himself, so now it’s on his computer, and if he put it on an SD card and used it on his Xbox, now it’s there also. They’re also sometimes sold on the digital black market for use on underground Web sites where real child predators love to look at them.” If you’ve sent a sext, she suggests having a discussion with the recipient and then doing your best to delete all copies. If you or someone you know is a victim of digital abuse, get help now. Experts believe education and dialogue are key to identifying and stopping the spread of digital abuse.
