Buku Abi, R. Kelly’s Daughter Has No Relationship With Her Father But Music Will Always Connect Them

For those who don’t know, Andrea Kelly is a very skilled dancer. It’s how she met R. Kelly before the two ultimately married and had three children. I don’t have to tell you that Buku’s father, singer R. Kelly is in the midst of yet another legal battle. He’s currently imprisoned on charges of child pornography, including videos of himself having sex with underage girls. SEE ALSO:  R. She spoke to the Associated Press about her journey. Abi, who was born JoAnn Kelly, claimed that she had seen the hellish part of the game and wanted no parts. But she couldn’t leave music alone. In the midst of everything she’s gone through, music has been a solace. And when your father’s R. Kelly, things can get rough. Abi explained when her father’s “sins” started seeping into her own life. “At home it’s normal, you’re living a life with your parents; your dad and mom aren’t going to go into all the bad things that might be going on outside of home,” she said, “but kids in school don’t necessarily care. Fifth and sixth grade is when I started learning the sore part of it, the not so good part. I think that was the hardest part for me because for so long I went with this image of who my dad (was) and what my family (was).” When her classmates started telling her stories about her own father, Abi said there were times when she considered suicide. Ever since then, I’ve been in it and it’s literally saved my life.” Naturally, attempting a music career, with her father’s reputation hasn’t been easy. “I definitely run across challenges — people wanting to work with me to spite him or people not wanting to work with me just because of who he is. I’ve definitely come across turmoil … being judged for really no reason at all, just based off associations. I’ve been pushing through it. Me making the art, it saved my life so there’s nothing really that would be able to stop me.” Abi released her debut project this past March with the help of her sister Jaah Kelly, who produced the album. Email Submit Although Abi says she no longer has a relationship with her father, music is where they connect. “There’s a lot about him as an artist that inspires me. He has made mistakes in his life and other things that he’s dealing with, but when it comes to that, I can’t take that away from him. That’s the one thing that will always keep us connected.” Abi believed that she could rekindle the relationship with her father. The two collaborated on a song called “Wanna Be There.” It appeared on Kelly’s 2015 album The Buffet. “At that time I was in a place where I was genuinely trying to have a relationship with my father. But it was so complicated at that time, as it always is. It was a great experience, I’m glad that I did it, but it just wasn’t like what everybody assumed, and that’s the part that sucks. It wasn’t this big kumbaya moment.” If it didn’t happen then, the likelihood of it happening now with R. Kelly being in jail as he awaits his trial in April is unlikely. Valerie Harper Dies; Beloved TV Star Was 80

The televisionw world is in mourning. Valerie Harper, a veteran actress best known for having played one of TV’s most popular and enduring characters died on Friday after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Harper enjoyed a long and highly respected acting career. However, she will forever be remembered for taking on the role of the constantly dating, constantly dieting Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler  Moore Show. Her passing was confirmed late Friday via statement on behalf of the late star’s husband, Tony Cacciotti: It read as follows: “My dad has asked me to pass on this message: ‘My beautiful caring wife of nearly 40 years has passed away at 10:06am, after years of fighting cancer. “She will never, ever be forgotten. Rest In Peace, mia Valeria. -Anthony.” Harper had been dealing with a number of health issues over the past few years, including leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, lung cancer and brain cancer. On July 8, just about two months before she died, a family friend set up a GoFundMe page titled “The Valerie Harper Cancer Support Fund.” It was meant to assist Harper with her daily “unrelenting medical costs” so that she would receive “the best care possible.” Within the first week, the campaign had raised over $40,000 from friends, family and many of Harper’s long-time fans and supporters. Back in 2013, the actress was given a mere three months to live after being diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, an extremely rare condition in which cancer cells spread to the membranes surrounding the brain. And yet: She defied the odds after undergoing chemotherapy treatments, even competing on Dancing With the Stars later that same year. Incredibly. “People are saying, ‘She’s on her way to death and quickly,’” she told Fox News in September of 2017. “Now it’s five years instead of three months.” Harper debuted in her iconic role the kooky neighbor from New York on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970. She won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress that same year, despite the comedy struggling in the ratings at first. From 1974 through 1978, she anchored the spin-off Rhoda, later winning the Best Actress Emmy. When this character got married on October 28, 1974, the special hour-long episode destroyed ratings records with 52 million viewers. The actress also starred on Valerie (also titled Valerie’s Family and The Hogan Family), in addition to films such as Freebie and the Bean and Chapter Two. She earned a Tony Award nomination in 2010 for her performance as Tallulah Bankhead in Looped. Harper is survived by Tony, whom she married in 1987, and their daughter, Cristina. Steven Frend and Olga Koshimbetova, 90 Day Fiance Stars, Break Major Marriage News

They’ve had their ups… and their downs… but now they are legally bound to each other. For all of eternity. Indeed: Late Friday, Olga Koshimbetova took to Instagram to break the majoe news that she and Steven Frend are now husband and wife. Yes, folks, the 90 Day Fiance stars just got married! Koshimbetova took to her official social media account on Friday to confirm she and her boyfriend of more than two years exchanged vows in a courthouse ceremony in Maryland. “30.08.2019 we are officially husband and wife,” the TLC personality captioned the above selfie of her, Steven and their son Aleksandr “Alex” Frend. It’s been quite a journey for these two, that’s for certain. Viewers were introduced to Steven and Olga on Season 6 of the aforementioned TLC series, which chronicled the couple as they navigated the challenging nature of their long-distance relationship. After Koshimbetova returned to her native Russia with their newborn baby, she kept Instagram followers up to date as Steven traveled thousands of miles for their family to reunite while awaiting the completion of her K-1 visa process. You can see a photo of him reuniting with Olga HERE . Just a few months ago, Olga received approval and returned to the United States with baby Alex for good. It’s rare, of course, for any couple that met via 90 Day Fiance to make it anywhere near a wedding aisle. But Steven and Olga never really left much doubt that their love was real. In June, they celebrated their two-year anniversary with Koshimbetova posting a snapshot of her family online and writing: “Time flies so fast that two years have passed since our meeting. We have already went through a lot of things, but this is only the beginning of our adventure with you, get ready babe.” There was a point where tension between Steven and Olga reached its troubling peak when Steven confessed that he hadn’t filed paperwork to bring Olga to America, even threatening to take their child to America without her. In the end, of course, he did not do so. That was then, though. Now? Now that the two are living in the same country again? All appears very well. Steven recently shared how much having his family together in the United States has meant to him. “Ever since my family has arrived I have never felt more alive!” he wrote this summer. The star added that he’s trying hard to improve himself and “learning to be a father as well as a supportive partner.” CONGRATS TO THE NEWLYWEDS!

This is Us Season 4 Trailer: Who are These People?!?

This is Us is a mega, gigantic, super hit on NBC for one reason and, really, one reason only: It features characters viewers know and love. And yet: Thee Seeason 4 trailer featured on this page makes it clear that upcoming episodes will give us a look at character we don't know — and maybe won't love. Indeed, NBC has now confirmed that This Is Us Season 4 will introduce fans to 10 new characters, many of whom will be played by very familiar faces. “It’s so strange, isn’t it? How just like that a complete stranger can become such a big part of your story,” Mandy Moore‘s Rebecca Pearson tells future husband Jack, played by Milo Ventimiglia, early on in this video. “It’s actually kind of terrifying, you know, how a single cross with one person you’ve never met can change everything,” she adds … as glimpses of new characters appear. So… who are these strangers? And how will they impact the This Is Us universe we've been watching for years? Most details are being kept under wraps, but we do know who they're played by: Asante Blackk Marsha Stephanie Blake Omar Epps Bahara Golestani Jennifer Morrison Timothy Omundson M. Night Shyamalan Julian Silva Auden Thornton Nick Wechsler Morrison is set to make her debut on the drama as a military woman, this much we know. We're also gonna guess that Shyamalan makes a cameo as someone working Kevin on his the latter's movie after he landed a role in a Ron Howard World War II movie co-starring Sylvester Stallone. But, again, this is just a guess. Epps, we can also confirm, will play a mechanic. “I would say that there’s a lot of secret new cast members who are going to be a big deal, coming up,” co-creator Dan Fogelman recently said about the guest actors joining the show. As for other non-series regulars you can expect to see on Season 4? Griffin Dunne will return as Nicky, Jack’s little brother who had a traumatic time while serving in the Vietnam War. Elsewhere, Ron Cephas Jones will beb ack as Randall’s dad in flashback scenes… Elizabeth Perkins will appear in the season premiere as Rebecca’s mother … and Phylicia Rashad returns as Beth’s mom. “If you think you know what’s coming next you don’t know us,” this trailer teases Season 4 of This Is Us premieres on Sept. 24 at 9/8x on NBC. Kody and Janelle Brown Put Feud Aside… To Welcome Grandchild!

In one sense, the future looks a little bleak for Kody and Janelle Brown. As a romantic couple, that is. In another sense, however, the future is bright and amazing and even totally miraculous for Kody and Janelle Brown…  because they just welcomed a grandchild together! On Friday, August 30, Sister Wives fans learned that the pair’s daughter, Maddie, gave birth several days earlier to a little girl. We know this because Janelle herself alerted followers on Instagram, posting the photo below and including with it a caption that reads as follows: Axel loves his new little sister Evie (Short for Evangalynn)! Please tell me that other grandmothers can stare at their grandkids photos forever. #grandkids. For those unaware: Janelle is Kody’s second wife, with whom he has six kids. By all accounts, it appears as if Janelle was present in North Carolina when her granddaughter arrived, although it’s unclear if the same can be said about Kody. We somehow doubt he was there. Lately, according to a wide variety of sources and outlets, there has been tension between Janelle, Kody and his other wives: Meri, Christine and Robyn. There’s even been talk that Kody may be in the market for a fifth wife as a result. As previously reported, Janelle spent Mother’s Day without Kody, seeming “very lonely,” a Radar Online insider said this past spring. Then, on Father’s Day, Janelle left town to hang out with friends and family in Virginia, fueling even more chatter about this romance being on thin ice. Of all Kody’s wives, Janelle has typically been the least likely to speak out and/or to stir up any sort of controversy — but she did make headlines just a few weeks ago. In mid-August, Janelle shared a photo online of her grandson , Axel, giving us a look at the toddler playing in a splash pad and eating breakfast … and looking downright adorable. Was this merely an example of a proud grandmother? Probably. But some Sister Wives fans have read a lot into the picture, thinking Janelle may have released it as a way to hint that everything is totally fine between her and Kody. See , she could have been saying, nothing to see here! I’m happy and content and drama-free! Who the heck knows for certain, though, right? Overall, Kody’s marriages almost all seem to be on the rocks. Meri has been unhappy for years and even Robyn may be moving away from the family in Arizona. As for Janelle? Yes, she has remained very quiet over the years. In the family’s 2012 book Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of An Unconventional Marriage , though, Janelle discussed living with Kody. “Our main problem was that we all lived under one roof, which never allowed me sufficient alone time with Kody,” she wrote back then. “Kody didn’t know how to behave as my husband in Meri’s house.” She continued at that time: “When we watched a movie together at night, Kody and Meri would sit together on the couch while I felt left out in the cold. “So I learned to separate myself. I began to physically distance myself as much as I could in our very small three-bedroom mobile home. “I didn’t spend much time in the common areas, instead setting up my bedroom as the living space.” This whole set-up just seems so unhealthy for all the women involved. Caelynn Miller-Keyes Dubbed "Lost, Slutty Duggar Sister" By Bachelor In Paradise Fans

Now, it’s not every day that you see the words “Duggar” and “slutty” in the same sentence. Which is probably why so many reality TV junkies were shook by a tweet describing Bachelor In Paradise star Caelynn Miller-Keyes as “the lost, slutty Duggar sister.” Now, if you’re a member of Bachelor Nation, you’re probably familiar with Caelyn from Colton’s season of The Bachelor , as well as the current season of Bachelor In Paradise . We don’t think her behavior on either show could ever really be described as “slutty,” but maybe it’s a relative thing. After all, in the Duggars’ world, wearing a skirt that exposes your knees is considered downright scandalous. (“Knees are for prayin’, not displayin'” is something we could imagine Jim Bob saying.)   As first pointed out by Life & Style , the tweet that prompted a million surprised head nods reads thusly: Take issue with the use of the word “slutty” if you want (We’re pretty sure it’s a joke, so maybe don’t take it too seriously?), but there’s no denying that the second part is true. Once you see the resemblance between Caelynn and the Duggar girls, it really can’t be unseen. And it seems the OG tweeter is not the only one who spotted the Duggar doppelganger among the swimwear enthusiasts on this summer’s BIP. “Caelynn looks like she could be a Duggar sister,” tweeted one viewer. “Is Caelynn a member of the Duggar family????!” added another.  “I watched The Bachelor for the first time this season, and my takeaway is that Caelynn is actually Jessa Duggar wearing a ~very~ light disguise,” a third remarked. Yes, it’s widely agreed that the Duggar Caelynn most resembles is Jessa, who has been conspicuously absent from social media in recent weeks. (This has yet to spark a rumor that Caelynn is actually Jessa in disguise, but the internet being the internet, we’re sure someone will put that out there eventually.) Neither the Duggars nor Caelynn has spoken out about the comparison, which is of course not at all surprising. After all, the Duggar girls probably aren’t allowed to watch shows like BIP. This family is so sheltered, people were surprised when Jill took her kids to see Toy Story 4 , as the Duggars typically steer clear of secular entertainment.  Meanwhile, Caelynn is busy dealing with all that Blake Hortsmann drama . In a way, she’s the anti-Duggar. Jessa and company are always getting trolled for being evangelical prudes, while Caelynn is getting shamed for having sex. Kyle Richards: BEGGING Sister Kim Richards to Seek Treatment

Kyle Richards may go on  epic Twitter tirades against Lisa Vanderpump , but she’ll always be there to support her sister, Kim. It’s no secret that Kim has struggled in the past with substance abuse.  Now, Kyle is reportedly begging her sister to seek help again before it’s too late. Us Weekly  reports that Kyle is worried sick about Kim given what she’s learned this summer. “Kyle became aware that Kim was struggling in recent weeks,” the insider reports. “And,” the source adds, Kyle “got extremely concerned based on what she was hearing.” One can only imagine the specifics that she may have heard about Kim. But reports say that Kim isn’t “doing well” and that Kyle is now fully aware of that. “Kyle isn’t a doctor,” the insider points out. “And,” the source continues, when it comes to Kim’s health, Kyle alone “can’t make that determination.” “Which is why,” the insider explains. “She is trying to get Kim into treatment.” Of course. Professionals would be equipped to evaluate how Kim is really doing and to set up the right programs for her. Kyle just hopes that she can persuade Kim to take that important step. Kyle and Kim aren’t quite joined at the hip. The report reminds fans that the sisters have been “living their own lives for some time now.” That is generally very healthy! Despite their independence, the two are said to be on “good terms” with one another. That’s reassuring — especially if it makes Kim more predisposed to heed Kyle’s advice. “t’s going to be an ongoing conversation,” the source characterizes. So not one big dramatic intervention or what have you, but a series of gentle questions and talks. “But the good news,” the insider reveals. “Is that Kim is being extremely receptive to Kyle.” That is an absolute relief. The source affirms that Kim is “recognizing she is coming from a place of love.” That matters so much when it comes to accepting advice and accepting help on your health journey. The hard truth is that part of what made Kim such a source of entertainment as a reality star was her bad behavior. A portion of that bad behavior has been attributed to her substance abuse issues. Even sober, one’s struggle to remain so can alter their behavior. You know how, when you’re hungry, you can eventually become  hangry  because you’re so impatient for food? For some people who struggle with substances, they lash out angrily when they are sober because they have a similar craving. Kyle has done so much for Kim. Some longtime fans of  The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills  have accused her of having a martyr complex and taking care of Kim to show how nice she is. But she really does care about her sister. We don’t know exactly what’s going on with Kim these days, but we wish both Richards sisters the absolute best. The news that Kim is reportedly receptive to Kyle’s words and concerns is extremely promising. Best wishes to them both! Hannah Brown: My Life is Chaos and I’m Struggling

Hannah Brown is the first to admit that her life has been turned upside down . Her role as Bachelorette was not the journey she expected. Instead, she’s living alone for the first time, and she’s being very honest with fans. Hannah is struggling with where her life has brought her. Hannah Brown posted a lengthy confessional essay on her Instagram. “Honest policy: I’m struggling,” the beloved Bachelorette begins. She acknowledges that “Life is so different.” “Since last August, I’ve been a pageant queen, a bachelor contestant, and the Bachelorette,” Hannah notes. “I’ve been in love with multiple people, I got engaged, I broke off an engagement,” she recalls. “And I shared it all with millions of people.” “My faith has been questioned by thousands who don’t know my heart,” Hannah laments. “And,” she continues. “My transparency with my decisions has labeled me promiscuous.” None of her actions have deserved that label — though there is of course nothing wrong with promiscuity. “Simultaneously,” Hannah writes. “I’ve become a role model for young women and started bigger conversations around faith, and sex.” “I’m living on my own for the first time,” she adds. “And shuffling through this life of next steps with press, media, and opportunities galore.” “I miss my friends and family that have watched my life explode,” Hannah expresses. Living on your own for the first time is a big deal. That’s also a stark reminder of how young Hannah is. “I feel guilty,” she admits. “Because I don’t have the time or emotional capacity to fill each of them in on my life right now.” Hey, no judgment here. “I can’t keep up with the people that matter most,” Hannah laments. “Because I can barely keep up with my own life right now.” “I am not complaining about this past year of adventures,” Hannh clarifies. In fact, she notes that there have been some very positive changes. “The woman who has emerged would shock the mirror-image young girl from a year ago,” she says. Hannah acknowledges: “I have so many blessings to be thankful for.” “However,” she adds. “It’s uncharted territory for me, and it’s been hard to really process what the heck is going on.” “Maybe I needed write this out to remind myself I’m human,” Hannah suggests. “And it’s okay to be overwhelmed.” She adds: “And maybe, I just needed to remind you guys too.” “Life is beautiful, but wild,” Hannah emphasizes. “I think it’s okay to be strong-to know you’re strong-but to still feel weak simultaneously.” “I believe that’s when the magic happens,” she writes. “My spirit has opportunity to grow and blossom from this place.” “Healing and restoration can happen,” Hannah affirms. This is where Hannah begins to discuss her journey through the lens of her faith. She is a Christian. “I can rest knowing that My Savior has compassion and wants to help and love me through this journey,” Hannah writes. “I’ve just got to let Him.” “I don’t know if I have been lately,” she admits. “But I am now because honestly, I think I would give out if I didn’t.” “So yeah,” Hannah continues. “I’m not going to struggle to disguise my weakness.” “I’m just gonna give over the keys to my main man Jesus,” Hannah concludes. “And let him bless me through this ride.” In times of doubt and troubles, leaning on your faith can be a powerful way to cope. June Shannon: I’m Choosing Geno Doak Over My Daughters!

When the world first met the Mountain Dew-fueled aspiring pageant queen known as Honey Boo Boo, Alana Thompson and her family were a source of guilty pleasure comedy. All these years later, the Thompson/Shannon clan remains a reality TV fixture — but no one is laughing these days. Much of the problem is that Alana’s mother, June Shannon, is trapped in a potentially fatal downward spiral. June’s substance abuse issues have been well documented, and insiders say her continued drug use is tearing her family apart. Already, June has been the subject of a failed intervention, and her family believes she’ll never get clean until she purges one particular bad influence from her life. We’re talking, of course, about Shannon’s boyfriend Geno Doak . June’s troubles with the law and with addiction seemed to begin shortly after she started dating Doak. Alana moved out on her mother and took up residence in her sister’s home, reportedly out of fear of Geno. But it’s not as though Mama June’s daughters are abandoning her. According to a new report from TMZ, the girls recently reached out and issued June an ultimatum: Apparently, Alana agreed to move back home with her mother on two conditions — June would need to dump Geno and seek professional help for her addiction issues. Sadly, Shannon reportedly refused to take either step, and Alana will remain in the care of her 19-year-old sister Lauryn for the foreseeable future. Insiders say Alana’s sisters agree with her that it’s simply not safe for the 13-year-old to return home until June has fully cut ties with Geno. In addition to the fact that he’s rumored to be Mama June’s main drug supplier, Doak’s own erratic behavior has become a major cause for concern. It’s been less than two months since Doak crashed his car  June’s garage before emerging from the vehicle naked. Doak claims he’s been unfairly portrayed in the media — but there’s really no way to spin something like that. Meanwhile, these tumultuous times are clearly taking a toll on Alana, who pretended to snort coke during an Instagram Live session, much to her sister’s chagrin. Ex-NBA Player Sebastian Telfair Sentenced To 3.5 Years in Prison

Sebastian Telfair, once a star prep basketball player and eventually an NBA talent (he was drafted right out of high school), just got sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for gun charges. However, if you’ve been paying attention, this destiny was inevitable. Telfair was initially arrested in 2017 after police discovered guns in the car and another man were parked in illegally. According to Bleacher Report , Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced today (August 12) that Telfair caught the three-and-a-half year bid for gun possession. Back in April, it was reported that Telfair’s trial was nothing short of a circus. His estranged wife, and mistress, took the stand to drop dime on him while his sister basically threatened the former with the fade. In fact, Telfair’s sister was arrested by the FBI due to said threats a month later. Telfair would be eventually convicted of felony criminal possession of a weapon , and now he has learned his fate. Cold world. But at least it wasn’t the 15 years he could have been hit with.
