Popular Youtube Vlogger Biannca Prince is being dragged for filth after insinuating her baby’s brown eyes aren’t pretty. Moments after giving birth to a healthy baby girl, Biannca Prince looked at her daughter and said, ‘I thought you were going to have pretty eyes.” Her husband quickly retorted, “She does have pretty eyes.” Record scratch. A clip from the video has since made its way around social media, catapulting it into viral status and prompting the couple to respond to all the backlash. Apparently Biannca and her husband Damien can’t believe she is being called out for being a “colorist” and stepped on their digital soap box to explain the “eye” comments. To bad the explanation is absolutely worse. “When I said I wish she had ‘pretty eyes,’ I didn’t mean she doesn’t have pretty eyes,” she said trying to explain. “When i said pretty eyes, I meant the term “green eyes.” At one point, she asks her husband has anyone ever complimented his brown eyes? To which he responds, “No.” And she says, “exactly.” Then goes into a story about her sisters, with brown eyes, have never been compliments, but strangers always told her mother how beautiful her eyes were. Seems Biannca clearly missed the point, let’s clarify. This isn’t about preference, Biannca can’t see how she put a higher value on colored eyes for the simple fact that they’re not brown. Because brown eyes aren’t seem as beautiful as blue, hazel, green or even light brown eyes. Colorism has shown us that the lighter your skin or eyes, the closer to White and the better. Period. What say you readers, what’s your reaction to Biannca’s reaction? Beth Chapman has taken a break from feuding with her stepdaughter to promote a new trailer for Dog's Most Wanted . In the new promo, Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman acknowledges his wife's cancer. In fact, it's relevant to the message that he wants to send to fugitives. Take a look: “Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman here,” Duane begins in this new clip shared by WGN. He stands before the camera, framed by darkness n a way that makes his nearly platinum hair seem brighter and his skin seem pinker. Beside him, Beth stands in an intense wig that forms a mane around her as they both stare at viewers. “My wife, the love of my life, is fighting for her life,” Duane shares. “Instead of being at home helping her,” he says. “I’m out here looking for you.” Duane hopes that any fugitives who happen to for some reason be watching this promo take his warning to heart. “I’m warning you in advance,” he cautions. “May God have mercy on you when I get you,” He doubles down on his warning: “because I won’t.” The implication here is that he will take out his frustrations over his wife's horrific cancer battle upon any fugitives he encounters. “You've been warned,” Beth chimes in. Beth Chapman is grappling with throat cancer which, once in remission, has returned and spread. “I don’t go to God and go, ‘Why did I get cancer?’” Beth shared earlier this year. “He’ll roll his eyes at me again,” Beth predicted. “Because I know why.” Beth explained that she believes that she has cancer “because this is the ultimate test of faith.” Whatever opinions any of us may have about that, theologically or medically, we don't feel the need to debate a cancer patient. “It is the evidence of things hoped for,” Beth expressed. “And it is the substance of things not known.” We think that she's describing faith, there, not cancer itself. Beth also explained why she was happier on the road, filming with her family, than receiving treatments that might prolong or even save her life. “Chemotherapy is not my bag, people,” Beth stated. “Sorry, that’s not for me.” “So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith,” she explained. “This is my ultimate lesson.” “And it will either be taught to me or to you,” Beth shared. We suppose that who learns the lesson is contingent upon Beth's ultimate fate. “And I am fine with taking the hit for everyone else,” Beth expressed. “Because,” she explained. “I think I know another guy who did the same thing.” Some might have gone with a Job analogy for Beth's suffering, but she skipped right to Jesus. Some may question why Beth would spend what may be her final months filming a show that some consider clownish or embarrassing. We would point out that, perhaps accidentally, Dog's Most Wanted has helped to highlight some real problems in our justice system. Almost all laws related to bounty hunters have been on the books since the 1800s. Though Duane is more careful (and, of course, on camera), some bounty hunters barge into the wrong house. People have died. Something has to change. But that's not why Beth is staying on the show. She wants to be with the people she loves, doing what she loves, for as long as she can.
Source: Aurelien Meunier / Getty The impractical shoes, the resolute gait, the single mindedness, you can spot a Black fashion girl from a mile away. They march annually straight from the halls of FIT, LIM, and the school of life into an industry that is at its best indifferent and begrudgingly democratic and at its worst deeply racist and openly hostile. Black fashion girls grew up eyeing the fantasies erected in the hallowed pages of W , Elle , and Vogue . They learned terminology from The Hills , they searched for internships on Media Bistro , they scoured Women’s Wear Daily for an edge that would allow them to join the few non-melaninated people at the top rung of the traveling circus. As they envision the change they will enact when they finally claim their seats at those exclusive tables, Black fashion girls rarely consider how their power can be limited by not only their skin color but also their job title. Sadly, when Black women reach their coveted jobs at fashion companies, it’s as an intern on entry level employee. The few that make it higher than this, retention then becomes the issue as microaggressions infiltrate the day. Change is not created by mere presence alone. It happens when the voices in the room are empowered to speak up, and no one is more empowered than Rihanna. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Meticulous about her image from the very beginning (she notoriously sued a British retailer for using her image without her permission), her place at one of the world’s most powerful companies is one of unprecedented control. Rihanna converting her influence as a pop star turned style icon into tangible results has the potential to create a shift in culture that could upend the pervasion of offensive key chains and bubble coats. Her celebrity has taken her somewhere that apprenticeships and assistant gigs have not yet been able to go and she leaves the door so much as slightly cracked it will change many lives. Provocative ad campaigns and reactionary diversity councils aside, leadership in the fashion industry is still overwhelmingly white and male. The height of perceived luxury is governed by stakeholders who do not include island girls from Barbados with the balls to rock doobies on the red carpet, pilfer wine glasses, and flip off the paparazzi. Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty That is why what Rihanna has done with Fenty matters even if she has done it with the support of a major conglomerate. Using an inclusive strategy that rejects ageism and mommy shaming while embracing sex and body positivity she has already set standards in the beauty and lingerie spaces that are spurning growing investment into black models, executives, and designers. Rihanna is forcing companies to invest and expand in what they don’t have. Her partnership with LVMH for Fenty Beauty proved to be a success, utilizing new selling models and turning the industry on their head. Naturally, fashion is next. Rihanna will now force the industry to support what they haven’t for a long time: Black women (whether in size or color). For a (undisclosed) price, Rihanna is using her influence and changing how we know the fashion game. One can hope, in this moment, she’ll use her profits to invest in other Black women or this moment to give Black women a seat at the table. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty LVMH is a company that controls the trends you’ll be wearing all summer, the bottles you cling to at brunch, and the endless selfies you snapped at Liberty State Park this weekend. Their autocratic leadership being destabilized by Rihanna will have a ripple effect throughout the entire industry. It is easy to dismiss her accomplishments because she has done it by partnering with LVMH but to do so would be to ignore the potential of her impact. If her expressing her agency as a designer means clients, contracts, and steps forward for even one Black woman then it is a win for our community. And that should matter, to the gatekeepers, to the ambitious newcomers, to us all because it’s one small step for a multinational corporate giant but it’s a leap for Black fashion girls. Source: Tashi-Delek / Getty Just like one diet doesn’t fit all, one supplement regimen doesn’t either. Vitamins should be based on lifestyle, age, gender, health goals, stress levels, sleep patterns, dietary restrictions, medical conditions and the medications you are taking to name a few. Personalized vitamins reduce the risk of nutrient deficiencies while preventing a buildup of excess vitamins in your body. For instance, if you’re already getting plenty of calcium in your diet, it can be harmful to take calcium supplements long term. For all populations, nutrients and nutrient levels shift throughout life’s stages. For instance, if you’re in your childbearing years, it is important to get enough omega-3 fatty acids, specifically DHA, since it is a building block of the brain. In addition, folic acid (vitamin B9) is crucial to support healthy neural tube development in the growing fetus. Vitamin D deficiency is very common among people of color, primarily since pigmentation reduces vitamin D production in the skin. Vitamin D helps to protect against chronic conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, all of which are more prevalent in the black population. Magnesium is an important mineral that African American women often don’t get enough of in a standard diet, where low magnesium levels are often associated with high blood pressure. Omega-3s, Blood Sugar Support (benfotiamine), CoQ10, and Garlic are some other nutritional supplements that can help support heart health, especially given that African Americans can experience an increased incidence of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Hair, Skin, & Nails is a must for black women who need to support hair growth and maintain moisture in the skin. In addition to creating a robust nutritional assessment to curate a customized pack of vitamins and nutrients for each person, Persona Nutrition also organizes the supplements by time of day to take personalization one-step further. There are nutrients that should be taken at various times of the day to help optimize health. For instance, you don’t want to take an energy-promoting nutrient right before bedtime. Our Persona vitamin packs are clearly marked by time of day to make daily nutrition truly personalized. Source: SPEX PHOTOGRAPHY, INC / SPEX PHOTOGRAPHY, INC Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta picks back up tonight with Spice’s skin bleaching situation, but this time it’s not a drawn-out melodrama. Basically, she’s on Joc and Karlie’s radio show and reiterates that she was using makeup, and had no plans to actually bleach her skin. She was just trying to make a point and she did. She got lots of attention from it — so much so that she has gotten more gigs. N ot only will she be the first woman from Jamaica to perform in the Gambia (her words, not mine) but she also got an invite to go to Trinidad for Machel Mondays, and she wants the rest of the crew to come with her. Karlie Redd is Trini so she’s extra excited. However, Joc isn’t really trying to go to Trinidad because Karlie will be there, and you remember all the drama that happened at the cabin with Karlie and his girlfriend, Kendra. Let’s fast forward a bit. Che Mack thinks her man is cheating. Surprise, surprise. She goes to Shekinah’s house and tells her that she found a box of condoms, with some missing, in Made Man’s personal belongings. They don’t use condoms so that’s the dead give away. Now she’s all upset because she put her career on hold for him, yatta yatta, and this isn’t the first time “Made Man had loyalty issues.” Now we’re at Sierra’s salon. Shekinah, Sierra, Mimi, and Tokyo Vanity have gathered and Shekinah tells all Ch Mack’s business. Then Pooh comes in and they’re all looking like: They don’t like Pooh because she caused drama between BK and Sierra by telling Karlie Redd that BK tried to kick it to her while he was with Sierra. Pooh says she’s there to “clear her name and apologize,” but come on, we know what show this is. Anyway, Pooh said that never happened and that Karlie is lying. Sierra thinks Pooh is the new liar in town and this doesn’t go well at all. Sierra tells Pooh to get tf out of her shop. Then Tokyo Vanity charges behind her as she leaves and tosses a lamp. Security caught that though. You know they’re pros at handling flying objects, hands, feet, etc. They also caught the wild Tokyo Vanity before she charged outside and made contact. Rasheeda and Kirk are back still trying to get us to care. Basically, Kirk’s daughter, Kelsie, has been the middle person between them, Kannon and Jasmine. Kirk told Rasheeda that he would no longer be in direct contact with Jasmine so it has been Kelsie. She loves helping her fam but she’s tired of being the middle person. This is still pending. Meanwhile, Che Mack is packing up her stuff and leaving her home while Tokyo is recording busy recording with Made Man (they’ve been recording before this drama). Then Shekinah pulls up to the studio and interrupts their session to go in on Made Man. She shows him the rubbers Che Mack presented to her and demands answers. Made Man says he doesn’t know what she’s talking about and he doesn’t know where the condoms came from. Then he tells her it’s none of her business and he needs to talk to Che Mack. Shekinah drops the bomb that Che is moving out and he looks flabbergasted. Later on, Poo meets up with Mimi to tell her that she feels bad for her shenanigans…again. Mimi gets the dimly lit idea to invite Pooh to Trinidad, but only if she can make things right with Karlie and everyone else. When Pooh gets home, later on, she tells her hubby Hiriam Hicks that she feels bad for her behavior. Then Hiriam says that Karlie called him crying and saying she didn’t do any of the nasty thangs that Pooh and now Hiriam alleges that the three of them did. Then he said Karlie swore on her daughter that this never happened. What Hiriam doesn’t know is that Karlie recorded this conversation and claims she has Hiriam backing her up that this didn’t happen. But the thing is, the recording sounds shady. You do hear him saying no, but it sounds more like he’s trying to comfort her, not back up her claims. We’ll be hearing more of this later. Anyway, Pooh is pissed that Karlie hit him up behind her back and that she tried to get sympathy. Now Pooh isn’t sure she even wants to go to Trinidad but we all know she’s going to go. Plus, Hiriam tells her to go on the trip and try to enjoy herself. Next, Sierra calls a meeting with Akbar V, Spice and Tokyo Vanity in an attempt to broker a peace talk. Let’s cut to the chase, this doesn’t go well at all. It gets especially nasty when Akbar V mocks Spice’s accent which was totally uncalled for. This ends with Spice trying to lunge at her over a table. Security shut that down but Akbar V isn’t making a good impression, at all. She gotta go. The Trinidad drama goes down next week. She did. She sure did.” This revelation comes after Cardi revealed in an Instagram Live video last year that she was thinking about having some liposuction and getting her breasts done over, saying, “my body’s still not where I want it to be. I still got like a lot of love handles right here. They’re not much, but I’m used to having a real tight stomach, so it’s like seeing all this extra skin and sh-t — where the f–k did you came from? Source: Westend61 / Getty This…is…scary!!! HIV Contracted After Vampire Facials A bizarre but trendy procedure caused damning consequences for two people at a New Mexico spa. After at first urging patrons of Albuquerque’s VIP Spa to get tested, health officials have confirmed that two people contracted the HIV virus. The New Mexico Department of Health said in a news release Monday that two clients of the spa who received “vampire facials” last year were recently infected with the same HIV strain. The facial procedure that’s garnered attention from celebs who tried it, uses the client’s own blood and injects it into the face to replenish the skin. KOAT Action News reports that more than 100 people have already been tested for HIV, hepatitis B, and C and VIP Spa closed in September after state agencies found issues with how needles were handled and disposed of. The New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department added that the owner of VIP Spa did not have a licensed professional to draw blood. So, so scary. Be CAREFUL with the procedures you undergo, folks!
