Proposed Titles for 15 European City-Set Films Still on Woody Allen’s Bucket List

Earlier today, Penelope Cruz confirmed that she will star in Woody Allen’s next film, an untitled project that is set to shoot in Rome. This means, of course, that the prolific writer/director is making good on his promise to wind his way around Europe — both because it is cheaper than working in the U.S. and because he can declare his love to different international cities onscreen . Regardless of the reason, Movieline is excited for Allen to explore the rest of the continent and with the help of resident European City Expert Louis Virtel , have come up with 15 prospective titles for Allen to work with.

What Do Woolly Mammoths and Whales Have in Common?

Image credit: Wikimedia Commons 15,000 years ago the ecosystems of North America suffered a dramatic disruption . Within 5,000 years, dozens of Pleistocene species—including herbivors like mammoths, mastodons, ground sloths, and camels, and predators like lions, dire wolves, and two species of saber-toothed cats—went extinct. In all, two-thirds of the continent’s large mammals were lost during this period. And the disruption has direct analogs to shifts occurring in North America today…. Read the full story on TreeHugger

Time Traveler Captured In Museum Photograph?

When you look at most of the two dozen or so people in this photograph, which belongs to a Canadian museum, there's no doubt that they're from 1940, the year in which it was taken. But what about that guy? Those funky sunglasses? That stamped t-shirt and hippie shawl? The doofy, disinterested expression? He sure as hell doesn't look like any Roosevelt-era bro I have ever seen. Maybe that's just it—he looks like a “bro,” which we all know didn't come into existence until the 1970s, at the earliest. Forgetomori has an extensive analysis of the photo and the mystery man, and, with some help from members of ATS, points out that no single item of his wardrobe is technically out of period. But his entire essence, especially in contrast to the sea of fedoras and 1940s enthusiasm around him, screams that he's from another era entirely. Sorry, time travel bro, you've been spotted. http://gizmodo.com/5519660/time-traveler-captured-in-museum-photograph added by: pjacobs51
