So Sad: 6-Year-Old Girl Accidentally Shot In Head By Brother While Parents Attend X-Mas Party

A six-year-old St. Louis girl, Maliyah Palmer was shot in the head last Friday and died after the brother accidentally shot her with their parents’ 9mm handgun. According to reports for The Daily Mail , the brother, 12, discovered the weapon in his the dresser in his parents’ bedroom before shooting his sister. Their mom and dad were reportedly at a Christmas party at the time of the incident. After being accidentally shot in the back of the head, the first-grader later died in the hospital. Her she is, in a photo shared on facebook. Reports say the kids were both under the supervision of their 16-year-old sister while Dwandra and Marius Palmer, were out at the holiday party, according to the  St Louis Post-Dispatch . An initial press release from Florissant police stated that the shooting was a ‘tragic accident’ and no charges will be filed. Marius Palmer posted that Maliyah’s funeral will be held on Friday. Rest in peace baby girl.

Amanda Knox Signs $4 Million Book Deal

Amanda Knox, the American college student who spent nearly four years in an Italian jail for murder, only to have her conviction overturned, is read to tell her story. And be paid handsomely for it. The international drama that unfolded on TV and in newspapers is now about to be told from the inside, in a subjective and profitable account, by Amanda Knox herself. Knox, who was freed last fall after her conviction in the murder of Meredith Kercher was thrown out, has sold her book to HarperCollins for what is said to be $4 million. “It is a story everyone else seems to have told except for the person at the center of it all,” Jonathan Burnham, the publisher of HarperCollins, told The N.Y. Times . “There has been plenty of rumor and conjecture about her, the role she played in events, and speculation about what happened. This book will tell the full story from her point of view for the very first time, and it will be told in her own words.” Amanda Knox, 24, kept prison diaries, the newspaper reports. In addition, her former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito , who was also cleared in the killing of Meredith Kercher, is said to be preparing to sell his own memoir. Gabriel Aubry Avoids Criminal Charges in Nanny Case

Finally some good legal news today for Gabriel Aubry. Sources tell TMZ the Canadian model will NOT be charged criminally for allegedly shoving his daughter’s nanny a few weeks ago, an act that has resulted in numerous hearings and court battles between Aubry and ex-girlfriend Halle Berry. While a battery report was filed by the nanny in question, a Los Angeles County Attorney spokesman says there’s “insufficient evidence” against Gabriel to pursue any charges. However, there is still plenty to work out between Aubry, Berry and the L.A. Department of Children and Family Services, especially after Nahla told officials that she’s often frightened of her father, due to his outbursts of anger. For now, Aubry can only see his child under the supervision of a monitor, while Berry has petitioned a court to allow her to move to France with Nahla and fiance Olivier Martinez. [Photo: WENN.com]
