Glee Series Finale: Where Are They Now?

The final notes have been sang, the final tears have been shed and the final message has been sent. With  Glee Season 6 Episode 13 , this influential Fox series has come to an end. After going back five years during the opening hour of a moving finale, viewers jumped ahead to 2020, as Glee closed out its impressive run by giving us a look at where various characters ended up once their days in New Directions were truly over. To wit: Kurt and Blaine were happily living in New York City, being totally fabulous and starring at Lincoln Center in the first-ever LGBT take on Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Rachel volunteered to serve as the couple’s surrogate… and she also won a Tony Award. In her acceptance speech, Rachel thanked her husband (Jessie St. James), along with Mr. Schuester, telling the latter: “Dreams really do come true.” Mercedes remained very successful, while Sam was happily heading up the New Directions (merely one of four glee clubs at the new-and-improved, arts-based McKinley). He had also found another new girlfriend. Tina and Artie were contentedly coupled up and as cute as ever. Sue was elected for a second term as Jeb Bush’s Vice President, with Becky working as a Secret Service agent and with many track suits bearing the letters VPOTUS.  Sue returned to McKinley to close out the finale in order to dedicate the Finn Hudson Auditorium and to deliver an emotional speech about how she once thought glee club was silly. However: “What I finally realized [is] it takes a lot of bravery to look around you and see the world not as it is, but as it should be: A world where the quarterback becomes best friends with the gay kid, and the girl with the big nose ends up on Broadway. Glee is about imagining a world like that and finding the courage to open up your heart and sing about it. That’s what glee club is. And for the longest time I thought that was silly. And now I think it’s just about the bravest thing that anyone can do.” 19 Greatest Glee Performances in History 1. Don’t Stop Believing It was the first and it was the best. 19 Greatest Glee Performances in Show History: We’ll Never Stop Believing!

It’s no longer a top-rated show. In fact, it’s one of the least-watched shows on all of television. But there was a time, not that long ago, when Glee was on top of the pop culture universe. So, with Glee Season 6 coming to an end this Friday and with it, of course, the entire series, now feels like a proper time to pay homage to a truly ground-breaking program. 19 Greatest Glee Performances in History 1. Don’t Stop Believing It was the first and it was the best. Glee took viewers on a fun journey with the performance that concluded its perfect series premiere. 2. It often veered too far into the world of cheesy Public Service Announcements, especially in its later years, but no one can debate the show’s originality. It aimed to be more than just a TV show, trying to send messages on a weekly basis about drugs, drinking, homosexuality, bullying and many other important topics. We’ll take that any day over the uncreative, borderline racist nonsense of abysmal sitcoms such as 2 Broke Girls. And Glee also dealt with a real-life tragedy when Cory Monteith died , providing the series with a certain tragic gravitas as it nears its conclusion. Look for the musical comedy to pay homage to the late star on its series finale this Friday. We salute you, Glee stars and Glee music , for giving television something it has never seen before – and we honor you via the above photo gallery. Which of these 19 Glee performances was your favorite?

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian: Married!

LeAnn Rimes is a married woman once again. The country singer married actor Eddie Cibrian last night in a private, very un-hyped ceremony, but she confirmed the joyous news on Twitter afterward. “Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes. We are blessed and … I’m Mrs. Cibrian!!!!!” Rimes wrote on the social networking site. Rimes, 28, wore a Reem Acra gown as she and Cibrian, 37, exchanged personalized vows in a small, private affair Friday in front of about 40 guests. Eddie’s sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his previous marriage to Brandi Glanville – who recently called a truce with former rival LeAnn – were on hand. “So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you,” she continued: Just in case anyone missed her Tweet, Rimes also updated her bio on the site … Where LeAnn Rimes’ description used to read, “Fiancee, Friend, Daughter, Caretaker To Everyone I Love Dearly, Incredibly Happy Woman….oh yeah, and I do this little thing called music and film too,” it now reads the following: “WIFE, Bonus Mom, Friend, Daughter, Caretaker To Everyone I Love Dearly, Incredibly Happy Woman… oh yeah, and I do this little thing called music and film.” Subtle, but life-changing status change. Congratulations to the couple. We know they’ve been through a lot of upheaval, with their affair, respective divorces and courtship playing out in the public eye, but here’s to a new, positive chapter and life of happiness for all involved.

American Idol Recap: DeWyze Choice

Asked to take on Billboard #1 hits, a nebulous theme that gave them nearly free rein, Lee DeWyze made an unusual choice but delivered on American Idol last night. Lee honored the late Alex Chilton , who passed away last week, with the Box Tops’ “The Letter,” and was met with general praise from Simon, Randy, Kara and Ellen. It might have even earned him THG’s top spot, but when Crystal Bowersox channeled Janis Joplin on “Me and Bobby McGee,” she reminded us why she’s the favorite. Big Mike was typically solid on “When a Man Loves a Woman,” as was last week’s sensation Siobhan Magnus on “Superstition.” It was easy to single out the top four. Lee DeWyze’s song selection and performance bumped him up with the usual contenders on last night’s American Idol. Can he build on this momentum going forward? Meanwhile, Paige Miles and Tim Urban will be vying for a ticket home thanks to their respective performances on “Against All Odds” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Clearly not up to par or worthy of a trip back, but one of the two will sneak through … if not both. Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia didn’t too much to help their causes. Agree with our assessment? Who do you see going home tonight? Here’s how we rank Tuesday’s American Idol performances (with last week’s rank): Crystal Bowersox, “Me and Bobby McGee” (2) Lee DeWyze , “The Letter” (5) Michael Lynche, “When a Man Loves a Woman” (3) Siobhan Magnus, “Superstition” (1) Casey James, “The Power of Love” (8) Aaron Kelly, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” (4) Didi Benami, “You’re No Good” (6) Andrew Garcia, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” (10) Katie Stevens, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” (9) Paige Miles, “Against All Odds” (7) Tim Urban, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” (12) Click to enlarge photos of the finalists in action …
