Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman Costumes: The Most Offensive Things Ever?

Good news, Julianne Hough: You no longer have the most offensive Halloween costume . Not by a long, long, long shot. In a photo that’s gone viral, two young men are dressed as Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman for this year’s holiday, with one donning a “Neighborhood Watch” shirt and the other wearing a black mask and blood-stained sweatshirt. Really. We’re not making this up: According to the Smoking Gun, the costumed gentle men are residents of Florida, where the George Zimmerman murder case took place. Zimmerman admitted to shooting Martin in early 2012 after trailing the 15-year old through his community and then struggling with Martin. In a trial that captivated the nation, Zimmerman pleaded not guilty and was exonerated by a jury of his peers in July. One of the men pictured above reportedly made this image his Facebook profile photo before thinking better of it. So at least the guy isn’t a total, complete and utter moron. React now: Do you find these Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman costumes offensive?   Oh my goodness, yes! Totally! Completely! View Poll »

Chris Brown Assault Charge Reduced; Star Faces Misdemeanor, Free Without Bail

The assault charge against Chris Brown, filed after his arrest early Sunday morning, has just been reduced from a felony offense to a misdemeanor. Chris has been released from jail, where he had been for about 36 hours, with no bail. He is required to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim. Brown will not be required to take a drug test, as often stipulated in such cases. His bodyguard’s charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor. The controversial 24-year-old was arrested for felony assault in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel and breaking his nose. Brown had been in custody since, though it’s unclear who threw the first punch , and the reduced charge certainly indicates some of that uncertainty. Law enforcement sources have indicated that the fight started when the man and his friend photobombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls. The victim says the same in his official statement, claiming he was trying to get a picture with Chris when Brown allegedly said, “I ain’t down wit that gay s–t.” The victim says he responded by saying to Chris, “Why you hoing?” Chris then said, “I feel like boxing” and hit him in the face. Then, he says, he went to square off with Chris when the bodyguard also hit him in the face. According to the victim, who suffered a broken nose, after the bodyguard punched him, the R&B star got behind the bodyguard , screaming, “Yeah, walk away.” Sources close to Chris insist it wasn’t over a photo, though, and that the guy tried to get on Chris’ tour bus, and Chris was just trying to stop a trespass. In his witness statement, Chris DENIES punching the victim and says he was on the bus when the victim tried getting on and his bodyguard “handled it.” Brown, who recently broke up with Karrueche Tran , faces certain jail time if found to be in violation of his probation for beating Rihanna back in 2009. He could theoretically have his probation revoked without a conviction, but the more likely scenario is that probation officials will see how this plays out.

Frank Ocean NOT Pressing Charges Against Chris Brown, Choosing "Sanity, Forgiveness"

Frank Ocean WILL NOT press charges against Chris Brown after last week’s brawl, announcing that he after some soul searching, he has opted to move on. Ocean posted on his Tumblr, “As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer.” “I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace.” Simple, yet profound thoughts from the rapper. The Chris Brown-Frank Ocean fight broke out last Sunday outside a recording studio in L.A., allegedly (at least at first) over a highly coveted parking spot. A witness on scene said Breezy threw the first punch and Ocean spoke to the police, while Brown left the scene and was the suspect in the battery case. Sources close to Chris remained adamant Frank came at him, Ocean’s crew started it, and that Brown never hit anyone. No one was charged in the case. With Frank letting it go, that’s how it will stay. Hatchet, buried … at least until the next studio run-in.

Chris Brown Likens Self to Jesus; Feeling Crucified in Wake of Frank Ocean Melee?

Chris Brown is apparently feeling crucified since his fight with Frank Ocean. Yesterday, the 23-year-old R&B star, who also paints in his spare time, posted a new photo on Instagram of Jesus on the cross, with a not-so cryptic caption: “Painting the way I feel today,” he wrote. Although he seems to have an extremely hard time taking his own advice, the controversial and often embattled singer also added, “Focus on what matters!” Accounts of the Chris Brown-Frank Ocean fight vary. The alleged altercation involving the stars and their posses occurred at a W. Hollywood recording studio parking lot Sunday night, then moved into the lobby. Officials said “Chris Brown and the victim were involved in an altercation over a parking space. The ruckus allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim.” Ocean, who claims Brown threw the first punch, is only listed as the victim because he stayed and spoke to police, while Brown and his people left. Chris has not been charged with a crime, however, and isn’t likely to be; his lawyer says he can and will speak to police because he did nothing wrong. Moreover, Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, says that studio surveillance footage of the incident also proves that his client did not punch anybody. What actually happened remains to be seen, although there is a history of animosity between the two that likely contributed to emotions growing heated.

Jenelle Evans Was Set Up, Attorney Argues

Following their Sunday night arrest , all three participants in last week’s Teen Mom 2 -based brawl – Jenelle Evans, Britany Truett and Brittany Maggard – have all been officially charged with disorderly conduct. They could all face 60 days in prison. But Evans’ attorney, Dustin Sullivan, has already come up with a defense for his perpetually troubled client. He tells TMZ there’s a “serious problem” and it’s that Truett, the victim in the brawl, “was paid substantially” for the photos of her injuries and the video that has circulated online. Why were there multiple cameras present when Jenelle arrived at Britany’s house? Why did Truett wait five days to call the cops? Sullivan finds these issues “highly suspicious” and is in the process of interviewing witnesses. He believes Evans has been set up in some way and will take that argument to the jury if the case proceeds. Of course, none of that changes two facts: Evans threw the first punch and Evans jumped on Truett and continued to pummel her into a pulp, long after Britany had stopped fighting back.
