The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 Recap: Cure… All?

The Vampire Diaries isn’t exactly heading into its Season 6 finale with a great deal of momentum. Does anyone out there really care whether or not Damon takes The Cure? It feels like a contrived storyline because we know Nina Dobrev is leaving , so making her human (as actually did take place on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 ) was the easiest way for the show to go about it Now Elena can either die (which would be awesome, giving Damon quite the guilt complex heading into Season 7) or simply leave Mystic Falls to start a new life elsewhere (by far the most likely scenario). Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 Online But Damon? Come on. We know he won’t take The Cure and hearing him constantly express his love for Elena has grown very old. Moreover, this story has been done before. The series itself even acknowledged that fact via flashback tonight. So, no, we can’t say that Damon suffering through some kind of existential crisis is edge-of-your-seat, season-ending suspense type of stuff. Lily Salvatore has been a solid addition, however. Her disdain for Stefan is fascinating to watch, as it both tugs at our heartstrings (poor Stefan) and also makes us scared for what sort of wrath she and her Heretic friends have in store. We all know Kai will somehow lead them out of 1903 (after they finish his delicious breakfast, that is). As for Alaric and Jo, Matt was right even before the latter learned she was having twins who would become the target of his her coven: they have no reason to stick around and every reason to leave. Go someplace far away, Alaric, Protect your family. We’ll see the marriage actually take place on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21 (teased below), though whether these two will live happily ever after is anyone’s guess. Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman Costumes: The Most Offensive Things Ever?

Good news, Julianne Hough: You no longer have the most offensive Halloween costume . Not by a long, long, long shot. In a photo that’s gone viral, two young men are dressed as Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman for this year’s holiday, with one donning a “Neighborhood Watch” shirt and the other wearing a black mask and blood-stained sweatshirt. Really. We’re not making this up: According to the Smoking Gun, the costumed gentle men are residents of Florida, where the George Zimmerman murder case took place. Zimmerman admitted to shooting Martin in early 2012 after trailing the 15-year old through his community and then struggling with Martin. In a trial that captivated the nation, Zimmerman pleaded not guilty and was exonerated by a jury of his peers in July. One of the men pictured above reportedly made this image his Facebook profile photo before thinking better of it. So at least the guy isn’t a total, complete and utter moron. React now: Do you find these Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman costumes offensive?   Oh my goodness, yes! Totally! Completely! View Poll »

Chris Brown Assault Charge Reduced; Star Faces Misdemeanor, Free Without Bail

The assault charge against Chris Brown, filed after his arrest early Sunday morning, has just been reduced from a felony offense to a misdemeanor. Chris has been released from jail, where he had been for about 36 hours, with no bail. He is required to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim. Brown will not be required to take a drug test, as often stipulated in such cases. His bodyguard’s charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor. The controversial 24-year-old was arrested for felony assault in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel and breaking his nose. Brown had been in custody since, though it’s unclear who threw the first punch , and the reduced charge certainly indicates some of that uncertainty. Law enforcement sources have indicated that the fight started when the man and his friend photobombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls. The victim says the same in his official statement, claiming he was trying to get a picture with Chris when Brown allegedly said, “I ain’t down wit that gay s–t.” The victim says he responded by saying to Chris, “Why you hoing?” Chris then said, “I feel like boxing” and hit him in the face. Then, he says, he went to square off with Chris when the bodyguard also hit him in the face. According to the victim, who suffered a broken nose, after the bodyguard punched him, the R&B star got behind the bodyguard , screaming, “Yeah, walk away.” Sources close to Chris insist it wasn’t over a photo, though, and that the guy tried to get on Chris’ tour bus, and Chris was just trying to stop a trespass. In his witness statement, Chris DENIES punching the victim and says he was on the bus when the victim tried getting on and his bodyguard “handled it.” Brown, who recently broke up with Karrueche Tran , faces certain jail time if found to be in violation of his probation for beating Rihanna back in 2009. He could theoretically have his probation revoked without a conviction, but the more likely scenario is that probation officials will see how this plays out.

Robert Ross to Court: Shaquille O’Neal Hired Me for Murder!

Robert Ross is suing Shaquille O’Neal for allegedly masterminding a plot to kidnap him over a sex tape Ross supposedly possessed that depicted the former NBA star and a mistress. It’s a complicated case and you can read more about it HERE . Now, in new court documents obtained by TMZ, Ross includes even more damning accusations against Shaq: he says O’Neal hired him to murder multiple people, including a gang member, a record producer, and a woman Shaq knocked up. Ross is a former gang member and acquaintance of O’Neal’s, who had falling out with the athlete over a record deal. The lawsuit reads : “For many years O’Neal requested and directed [Ross] to perform many personal favors and directed him to perform various tasks including, but not limited to: ordering [Ross] to kill a member of the Downtown Gangster Crips who had disrespected O’Neal in front of his wife Shaunie.” According to Ross, O’Neal also issued “an order to kill a woman whom [he]had impregnated and paid for her abortion” and “an order to kill a renown record producer, as well as “an order to break an NBA player’s shooting arm.” A lawyer for Shaq, who was hired this week as an analyst by TNT, has replied to these charges: “The outlandish claims by Robert Ross in his civil complaint are pure fiction.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Takes Down The Twilight Saga

In what will likely be the first of many records set by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , the film has knocked The Twilight Saga out of a number-one perch. The final adventure for Daniel Radcliffe and company $43.5 million at midnight screenings Friday morning, demolishing the $30 million mark set by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse . Harry cleared $80 overall yesterday, blowing by the $72 million record by The Twilight Saga: New Moon . Look for it to gross over $180 million before the weekend is over, which would move it past The Dark Knight and prove once and for all: Movie goers prefer wizards to vampires and mayhem-causing superheroes.

Lindsay Lohan Theft Video Sparks Legal War

Apparently the photo of Lindsay Lohan having her chest clutched by Spencer Falls isn’t the most controversial image of the actress this weekend. The owners of the jewelry store where Lohan stole that necklace are at war with a guy who was trying to hawk the surveillance tape of it. A lawsuit appears imminent, according to TMZ. Geoff and Sofia Kaman, owners of the infamous Kamofie & Company jewelry store, hired a broker, Christopher Spencer, to shop the surveillance tape. Spencer reached a deal with the AP, which agreed to sell the tape of Lindsay Lohan committing the moderate-to- major necklace heist to media outlets. The AP was to give Spencer a cut of the profits, which he would in turn share with the Kamans. But the Kamans believed he was stiffing them. They sent an email to the Associated Press, inquiring about the payments to Spencer, who became livid and fired off a cease and desist letter. “You do not have any legal right to contact the AP and suggest I’ve been ripping you off which is what you’ve done,” the tape’s broker wrote. Spencer continues going off on them, “I am in disbelief that, after achieving so much in your benefit, you’d be reaching out to someone and suggest that my company or I are not paying you money that’s owed to you.” Spencer threatens if the Kamans don’t back off, he’ll sue. The Kamans had no comment, but frankly, they deserve what they get for trying to play the victim with the police, then cash in on Lindsay in the first place. Lohan went on to plead no contest to the charge, which was knocked down to a misdemeanor. She was placed on probation and house arrest.

Osama Bin Laden Hit List: President Obama & Gen. Petraeus Targeted, New Report Indicates

Slain Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden had a hit list, according to reports, with taking down U.S. President on September 11 of this year his #1 target. Bin Laden’s list called for a “celebration” of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by shooting down Air Force One with President Obama on board. The terrorist mastermind, who was killed by U.S. forces May 1, also wanted Gen. David Petraeus dead and to crash a plane into a major sports event. A “treasure trove” of documents discovered in Bin Laden’s hideout revealed the plans the Al Qaeda chief was crafting to assassinate Barack Obama. To accomplish that horrific goal, Bin Laden discussed attacking the president’s plane or helicopter with a missile or grenade, officials told ABC News. These machinations were part of U.S. intelligence discoveries that included the murderer’s huge porn stash at his Abbottabad, Pakistan, compound. Sources say that despite Bin Laden’s reputation was the world’s most notorious terrorist and fugitive, success would have been extremely unlikely. “It’s difficult, but not impossible, to shoot down either Gen. Petraeus or the president’s plane,” said Brad Garrett, a former FBI special agent. “The reality is because of all the countermeasures in place, and other planes and helicopters in the air, it’s not a likely scenario,” he added. The plane into a sporting event scenario, however? “We have so many small airports, you could fly below radar,” he said. “That’s possibly doable.” Sweet. Fortunately, the NFL and NBA are currently experiencing lockouts, and no one goes to NHL games (kidding, mostly), leaving only baseball.

Kim Kardashian Too Famous For Own Reality Show

If Kim Kardashian is known for one thing in front of a camera, it’s moaning and groaning while Ray J worked his magic up in that piece. But if she’s known for a second thing, it’s totally E!’s hit reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians . A show that may no longer be able to afford her. Now a household name for whatever reason, Kim’s professional celebrity status has thrown a wrench into negotiations for the fifth season of Keeping Up . Her star power has been a boost for the show, but as Kim Kardashian becomes increasingly popular, she may have options more lucrative than E! can match. “Kim’s advisors feel it may be time to explore bigger deals on bigger networks,” a TV insider with alleged knowledge of the ongoing negotiations says. BIG TIME : That applies to Kim’s booty, and level of fame apparently . “She’s right to feel like she doesn’t need to open up her life to make a living. It looks like Kim can make a lot more money than the TV show can pay her, especially through her endorsement deals and doing appearances on bigger shows.” Huh? Really, insider? The only reason she makes a living is by opening up her life … and legs, for Ray J . But that’s neither here nor there at this point. At this juncture, E!’s options could be limited. The source says that they can dig deep and make Kim an offer she and her representatives can’t refuse. On the flip side, the network re-fashion Keeping Up With The Kardashians to focus on the remaining cast members. Talk about a ticking time bomb! “Neither path makes much business sense, especially when the Miami spinoff is doing just fine,” says the source. “The most likely scenario is shutting down the show altogether and focusing resources on the Miami- Khloe and Kourtney franchise.” Wow. Kim potentially putting the kibosh on Keeping Up? Krushing .

IRS hires "hundreds" for new wealth unit

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A new Internal Revenue Service unit set up to catch rich tax cheats hiding their wealth in complex business entities is rapidly taking shape with the hiring of hundreds of employees. The IRS high wealth unit, part of a broader effort to combat international tax evasion, is focusing on “the entire web of business entities controlled by a high wealth individual,” IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman told a tax conference this week. Another IRS official told Reuters “hundreds” of people have already been hired to staff the new unit, including some from within the agency.
