Some new posters and images from The Wolverine have hit the web. If only they were as stunning as the original black-and-white Japanese brush style teaser that BLT Communications designed. The new one-sheets are designed to appeal to ab lovers more than art lovers and feature images of a shirtless Hugh Jackman and his adamantium claws. Hoo-ah! As Al Pacino might say. EW.com has also posted a gallery of exclusive stills from the movie, which is set in Japan. The first features Jackman and actress Tao Okamoto as Mariko, who Wolverine is protecting from the Yakuza. Next up, looking a bit like Poison Ivy is Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper, a super villain who likes to work with toxins and is immune to them. The third image features Rila Fukushima as the formidable Yukio. Jackman tells EW.com that Wolverine’s inability to die is a theme that resounds throughout the film. “He realizes everyone he loves dies, and his whole life is full of pain,” says Jackman. ”So it’s better that he just escapes. New Posters For ‘The Wolverine’ Show A Jacked Jackman − But Little Artistic Spark

Evil Dead hits theaters in less than two weeks, and the debate in my head grows louder: Should I bring the airsickness bag I brought home from my last plane flight, or will a gallon-sized Ziploc baggie do? As I wrote earlier, Fede Alvarez’s intense, serious-as-a-heart attack remake of Sam Raimi’s humorous horror classic, The Evil Dead , is looking pretty review proof, but I’ve got to wonder if reports of the movie’s extreme gore and the intensity of the trailers that are being released will give more squeamish horror fans second thoughts about attending, especially since the update doesn’t share the comic relief of the original. Here’s the latest clip to surface via Yahoo! Everyone looks pretty freaked at what’s going on in that little cabin, and that’s before Mia ( Jane Levy ) shoots her brother David ( Shiloh Fernandez ) and lets out an operatic scream that comes with its own Auto-Tune translation. Also, there are two new posters for the movie. Actually, they’re variants that feature the same image, but one features review blurbs and one does not. Blake tells Starpluse about an unusual encounter with her 4-year-old nephew that happened before her recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman : ” He was tattling on his older brother and he comes running in and I said, ‘No, no, no, don’t come in, I’m naked…’ It was from behind and I was covering myself from the front and he walks in and it was a little too late. He just sees me and turns beet red and then, like, folds over laughing .” “And then later he came back again and he wanted me to throw him on the bed… and he’s pulling open the door and I said, ‘I can’t, I’m naked again,’ and he goes, ‘Can I see, can I see?’ He’s four. There’s no getting around it- Dreama Walker is adorable. It’s the big blue doe eyes. And you probably know her from her work on sitcoms like Don’t Trust the B—- In Apartment 23 . But like all actresses (except for maybe Pamela Anderson ), Dreama wants to be taken seriously . To this end, she starts in the controversial Sundance film Compliance (2012), where she plays a fast-food cashier who’s humiliated and strip searched by her boss after an anonymous caller accuses her of stealing. Pretty heavy stuff, but at least she makes our Dreama-s come true by going topless at the 28-minute mark as she takes off her uniform and again 55 minutes in when she does nude jumping jacks. Compliance hits theaters next month, and the first trailer confirms that it will indeed be some pretty intense sh*t. Do you like these sorts of heady indie flicks, or will you be waiting for the screen caps on Mr. Skin?

Signs that your precious little girl may be inhabited by a malicious demon, according to this first trailer for the Sam Raimi-produced The Possession : She eats her pancakes at abnormal speeds (watch out for that fork), cradles an ancient wooden puzzle box in her bed at night, has a horde of insects living inside her mouth. What are desperate parents Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick to do? Get a peek at the latest in dybbuk horror — so hot right now! — after the jump. Produced by Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures, August 31’s The Possession stars Morgan and Sedgwick as estranged parents of two girls, one of whom makes the best-worst yard sale find ever: A dybbuk box housing an assortment of tokens and pieces of hair, which appear to possess her, effectively combining the Jewish horror and scary child genres in one convenient movie! (A dybbuk, in Jewish mythology, is a malevolent possessing spirit; also see: 2009’s The Unborn .) What makes this movie slightly more interesting is that it’s based on a true story — at least, on the 2004 L.A. Times article ” Jinx in a Box ” that documented the allegedly cursed item known as the Dybbuk Box, an antique wine box found by one unlucky owner at a yard sale that went on to curse subsequent owners and even has its own Wikipedia page .
