Scottie Pippen Is Reportedly Being Sued By Ex-Side Chick From The 90’s After She Flew Herself Out & Never Got Reimbursed

Source: Carlos Tischler / Getty Scottie Pippen’s Ex-Mistress Is Suing Him Over Travel Fees From The 80’s According to the The Blast , six-time NBA champ Scottie Pippen is being sued by an ex-girlfriend for $9,999, after she claims she spent thousands in travel expense during their alleged relationship, that took place during the late 80’s and early 90’s. “the maximum allowed in small claims court,” Chyvette Valentine, who claims to have dated Pippen during his time with the Chicago Bulls, is taking him to small claims court after she says he promised to pay her back after she flew herself out but he never did. During the Bull’s dynasty Pippen married Karen McCollum in 1988, later divorcing in 1990. Valentine claims she didn’t know Pippen was married or had kids, and didn’t find out until he opened up about his life in February 1988 as the pair had sex. Following his split from McCollum, Pippen wed second wife Larsa in 1997. She filed for divorce in 2018.

Blackface Is Bad M’kay: Italian Airline Forced To Apologize After Barack Obama Blackface Ad [Video]

Source: Christopher Sadowski / Splash News Alitalia Airlines Apologizes After Ad Featuring Actor In Barack Obama Blackface An Italian airline faced some much deserved backlash, considering they didn’t get the memo that blackface is uuuh….bad. According to The New York Times , Alitalia airlines released an advertisement on social media this week that featured an actor donning blackface in order to play President Barack Obama. The ad was one of four Italian-language clips used to promote the airline’s recently announced nonstop flight from Rome to Washington. Other videos have actors portraying Trump, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with the hashtag #WhereIsWashington.   The video quickly drew angry comments on Facebook and YouTube, mostly written in Italian. Comments on Facebook called the clip “outrageous” and many folks pointed out that blackface was “universally considered a racist practice.” A representative for the airline initially defended the ad, saying that the actor portraying Obama wasn’t White and that “makeup was applied to highlight features.” Eventually, the company came to their senses and issued an apology on Wednesday. They said they would remove the ad from all it’s social media platforms. “Alitalia deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the promotional video on our Washington route,” they tweeted out. “It has since been removed. For our Company, respect for everyone is mandatory, it was never our intention to hurt anyone and we will learn from what has happened.” Alitalia deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the promotional video on our Washington route. Mayor Of Majority Mayo Municipality Rejected Candidate Because “He Is Black, And The City Isn’t Ready”

Source: Adene Sanchez/ Getty Images / Getty All Whites Matter… Hoschton, GA Mayor Rejects Black Candidate We’d love to say this is unbelievable but we’ve long known that Georgia outside of Atlanta isn’t the friendliest of places for black people. The mayor of Hoschton, GA is currently the subject of an Atlanta Journal Constitution investigation because she allegedly withheld a job candidate from consideration for a city administrator role because he was black. According to documents obtained by the AJC and interviews with city officials, Mayor Theresa Kenerly told a member of the City Council she pulled Keith Henry’s resume from a packet of four finalists “because he is black, and the city isn’t ready for this.” The mayor’s comments were reportedly whispered to a member of the council during a closed-door session on March 4th, and were overheard. Councilwoman Hope Weeks said Kenerly repeated her comments in the parking lot after the meeting, according to a document released by the city in response to an open records request from the AJC. “She proceeded to tell me that the candidate was real good, but he was black and we don’t have a big black population and she just didn’t think Hoschton was ready for that,” Weeks wrote in an account dated March 4. Weeks shared Kenerly’s comments with Councilwoman Susan Powers and the two decided to take the issue to city attorney Thomas Mitchell. “Both of us were just appalled, so we thought we had to do something to stop it,” Powers said. Weeks declined to be interviewed on the record, but issued a statement saying she was disappointed in the mayor’s comments about the candidate. “Mr. Henry was a very professional and qualified candidate who was a finalist for the position of city administrator before withdrawing to accept another position,” she said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Hoschton, but this has been one of the most challenging seasons of my life.” According to emails obtained by the AJC, Mitchell and the city’s five elected officials opted to continue the hiring process, allowing Kenerly to attend but not participate. Mitchell also cautioned officials to cease sending emails about the issue. “I do not think it in the best interests of the city (or the individual elected officials) to continue emailing in this manner,” he wrote in a March 14 email. In emails, Powers protested the mayor’s continued involvement in the search for a city administrator. “Since she corrupted this entire process by trying to shield the application of Mr. Henry from Council members and then making the comment to the effect that while he is qualified he should not be considered because he is black and the city is not ready for this, she should not be a part of this hiring process,” Powers wrote. “I am appalled that in 2019 an applicant would not be hired based solely on the color of their skin.” Henry withdrew his candidacy not long after the March 4 meeting and a phone interview with council members. He told the AJC he chose to withdraw because the city asked that he pay his travel, room, and board to travel for an in-person interview with the promise of reimbursement at a later date. Two of the other candidates for the position were local, while the third was willing to drive from the Georgia coast at his own expense. Henry told the AJC he didn’t detect any bias after being interviewed by Kenerly over the phone but as a black man applying for executive government positions in small Southern towns, he wasn’t surprised that it may have existed. “It comes with the territory,” he said. “If you live in America as a minority you can’t be naïve that it is the reality that you face.” Kenerly refused to initially answer questions about her reported comments, saying she could not publicly talk about matters that occurred in executive session even though the law does not forbid that. “I can’t say I said it or not said it,” she said. Kenerly later issued a statement disputing accounts from other city officials. Kenerly was not without defenders. Councilman Jim Cleveland confirmed many aspects of the story, including his account that Kenerly made a tearful apology in another executive session on March 12, where council members say she claimed to be “looking out” for Henry because the city does not have a lot of minority residents. “I was there for that,” Cleveland said. “She cried. She had tears in her eyes. It was in my opinion a very sincere apology.” Cleveland also seemed to express understanding of Kenerly’s motives saying: “I understood where she was coming from,” he said. “I understand Theresa saying that, simply because we’re not Atlanta. Things are different here than they are 50 miles down the road.” Cleveland described Hoschton as “a predominantly white community” not in accord with urban sensibilities about race.“I don’t know how they would take it if we selected a black administrator. She might have been right,” he said. Cleveland said he ranked Henry fourth out of the candidates in any case because he’d elected not to come for the in-person interview. Councilman Cleveland also shared his not so enlightened views on race: “I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage. That’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way I believe,” he said. “I have black friends, I hired black people. But when it comes to all this stuff you see on TV, when you see blacks and whites together, it makes my blood boil because that’s just not the way a Christian is supposed to live.” YIKES… Sounds like Hoschton has a loooooong way to go when it comes to race. Located just outside Gwinnett County, in Jackson County, adjacent to the larger city of Braselton, Hoschton has a population of less than 2,000 people and only 201 of that number identify as non-white according to U.S. Census data. Hoschton’s city code reads: “There shall be no discrimination exercised because of race, national origin, color, religion, creed, age, sex … All personnel actions shall be based solely on individual merit and fitness.” Looks like the code is a long way from being followed.

National Couple’s Month: Ten Couples Who Prove Black Love Is Going Strong

Read more from the original source:

Source: Getty / Getty Black love is one of the most powerful unions in the universe. However, Black couples are not as praised and magnified as they should be. Black love is real. Appreciate each other Love each other Have fun with each other Joke with each other Uplift each other Communicate with each other Enjoy each other Travel Fall in love -@Shi_wortham “I appreciate all Men who have integrity and morals and just dependable…I enjoy witnessing Black Love /Marriages… And not those who only practice in public and behind closed doors.” -@BiancasTalite13 There’s definitely a stigma when it comes to healthy, Black relationships in America. The images that we see in the media don’t often show images of Black love, let alone celebrate it. NPR did a whole report on why so many Black Women are single. The article stated: Dating is hard for lots of people, but for black women in the United States, it can be uniquely horrible. For one thing, we’re often expected to conform to white beauty standards. For another, we’re up against a hold parade of racist stereotypes: that we’re angry, overbearing, lazy, prudish and hyper-sexual and emasculating all at once. Those stereotypes and expectations do two things. First, they limit the pool of people who are interested in dating black women. And second, they often create situations where we, as black women, try super hard not to fit into those categories. So rather than relaxing and trying to have fun with potential dates, we’re caught up in the impossible game of trying to seem fun and ambitious and feminine and flirty…but not too flirty. But don’t fret— there are still some brothers out that love them some melanin. Couples like Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have had many ups and downs throughout their nearly decade long relationship, but somehow they’ve managed to prevail and look like a Black Barbie and Ken doll in the process. April is National Couple Appreciation Month , and there are several ways to celebrate: Leave a love note on your mate’s car. Surprise your love with coffee or tea before they wake. If your sweetheart is a selfie-loving type and you’re not, give in on occasion and take a couples’ selfie. Let your significant other overhear you complimenting them. We’ve decided to honor the special month by highlighting some of our favorite couples who prove Black Love is still strong and long lasting. Check out these ten couples who exemplify Black love at it’s best. [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4160581″ overlay=”true”]

Kristen Doute Reveals If She’s Still Dating Brian Carter

It was a night of splits on Vanderpump Rules this week. Lala Kent split with Randall Emmett and then parted ways with her sobriety; Tom Sandoval nearly split with Lisa Vanderpump over an argument that apparently involved fairy dust … and then there was Kristen Doute and her bizarre relationship with Brian Carter. As you probably already know, Kristen let her freak flag fly in a major way while she and the rest of the ladies were in Solvang last week. As far as we can tell, there’s a glowing orb buried somewhere in West Hollywood that serves as the source of Kristen’s sanity, and the farther she travels from it, the more psychotic she becomes. Really, she probably just pops a whole bunch of benzos to deal with her travel anxiety, then proceeds to binge drink because this is Vanderpump Rules , and the resulting cocktail gives us Crazy Kristen. Anyway, last week, there were not one but two men driving Loony Doute up the wall, even though they were hundreds of miles from Dutch Wine Country. One was James Kennedy, who continues to enjoy rent-free amenities between Kristen’s ears. The other was a bit more surprising, as Kristen railed against her longtime boyfriend, Brian Carter. From the sound of her tirade in Solvang, it seemed that she intended to dump his semi-employed ass the moment she got home. And when she confronted him (at Kristina’s barbecue, for some reason), Carter didn’t help his situation by insisting — sigh — that the couple’s therapist is “usually on [his] side.” So surely, by now, Kristen and Brian must have gone their separate ways, right? Well, not so fast. Back in November, Doute rushed to Carter’s defense right around the time the two of them took a trip to Australia together. “He and I definitely have a little bit of a bumpy season,” Kristen told Daily Mail Australia at the time. “This is what I signed up for, and we have to be honest. We’re not perfect … It’s really hard to watch things back and I think we’re both a little nervous.” Add to that the fact that just last week Carter gushed about Kristen on her birthday, and it seems that breakup wasn’t such a sure thing after all. “Tonight’s episode was heavy. I want to reiterate that @stassi was only repeating what I had told her,” Kristen tweeted on Monday night. “I love her & all of my girls for wanting the best for me. Carter is a really wonderful man and people go through things. Please just be kind because man, we’re all human.” There’s a deep irony in someone who’s repeatedly reveled in kicking others while they’re down exhorting her followers to “be kind,” but that’s Crazy Kristen for ya!
