Trick Daddy and Lil Wayne are not big fans of each other, but Weezy’s friend mentor Birdman has reportedly stepped in to quash this beef for good. Lil Wayne went ballistic at a strip club last month after a dude in Trick’s posse allegedly flicked a cigarette into the rapper’s dreads at a Miami strip club. Trick Daddy is bitter, claiming Tunechi got him blackballed from all the good strip clubs in Miami (really), leaving him to frequent butterface joints (really). Moreover, Trick insists he didn’t even do anything to Weezy. “If I wanted to start $h!t with [Wayne] he would have been in the hospital for a different reason,” Daddy boasted, harshly referencing Weezy’s seizures . Fortunately, Birdman stepped in to defuse the situation between the feuding rappers. He’s reportedly set up a dinner with the three of them to talk it out. What we wouldn’t give to be a fly on that wall. In other news, Mountain Dew dropped Lil Wayne as a spokesman because of the Emmett Till controversy and the rapper’s perceived lack of apology. Guy’s got beefs going left and right lately.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has a growing fan base on Tumblr apparently. Up until last week, “One Direction Infection” was a Tumblr blog created and maintained by an eighth grader devoted to the British boy band heart throbs. Now, it’s devoted to the Boston Marathon bombing suspect. Jahar, as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s friends and Twitter followers call him, has amassed a pretty huge following for a man charged with terrorism and WMD use . He has his own hashtag, #FreeJahar, on Twitter, while thousands of Tumblr and Facebook fans closely follow his case and discuss his “innocence.” Beyond the boilerplate Boston bombing conspiracy theories that claim he’s the fall guy or the whole thing is a hoax, there are other reasons for his appeal. “I do believe he is very cute, but that’s not the reason I’m involved in this movement,” the aforementioned 1D turned Free Jahar Tumblr owner told Gawker . “I am in this because I don’t believe its right to put a totally innocent person in jail for the rest of his/her life or even death penalty. I don’t care who it is, it just isn’t fair.” By any measure, #FreeJahar is a bizarre expansion of “fandom” culture – rabid communities of admirers, usually young women, that organize themselves online. Exchanging photos, fan art and writing, their near-undefinable flood of emotion and desire is palpable. In this case, it can also be political and viral. For the most part, #FreeJahar believers’ Tumblr pages are image-heavy and mock the “perception” of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as a terrorist or criminal. They are conspiratorial (“If you believe the official story regarding Boston, I don’t know what to tell you”), yet, in the majority of cases, blatantly juvenile. It’s hard to tell exactly how many people believe in Tsarnaev’s innocence, or how strongly. But there’s no doubt that the “movement” is growing fast. On Tumblr, there are a dozen or so dedicated #FreeJahar blogs, and scores of allies and sympathizers who “like” and “reblog” their posts loyally. On Twitter, Tsarnaev’s friends, many of whom have embraced #FreeJahar, have thousands of followers, while pro-Jahar Facebook pages are heavily “Liked.” It’s hard to say what possesses someone to become involved in such activity, but the Jahar loyalists aren’t alone. James Holmes has online fans too. Seriously.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has admitted that he and his brother were behind the Boston Marathon bombings, a law enforcement official said this afternoon. Tsarnaev made his admissions to FBI agents who questioned him at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Boston Globe reported on Tuesday. He is still hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect had been given a Miranda warning at the time of the confession. Tsarnaev was charged with using a weapon of mass destruction Monday. Attorneys for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (left, above) are certain to challenge the legality of those admissions, and claims that he and his brother acted alone . The 19-year-old, who was captured after a massive manhunt Fiday night, reportedly said his older brother was radicalized in an extreme form of Islam. But in an interview with the Globe, a senior police official said authorities are not worried about the initial admission to authorities being thrown out. This is due in part to the fact that they reportedly have a strong witness: the man who was abducted by the Tsarnaev brothers last Thursday night. Police sources told the Globe that the carjacking victim has told police that Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his brother pointed guns at him that evening. At that point, Tamerlan reportedly told him, “We just killed a cop. We blew up the marathon. And now we’re going to New York. Don’t [expletive] with us.” The carjacking took place in Allston shortly after, police say, the Tsarnaevs ambushed and murdered an MIT Police Officer in his cruiser in Cambridge. Boston Police, State Police, Watertown Police, Transit Police and other officers confronted the Tsarnaevs early Friday after the stolen SUV was spotted. “We already knew these guys had admitted to killing three civilians and a police officer, and that they were prepared to kill many others,” the senior official said. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died in a shootout with police, while Dzhokhar escaped on foot and somehow managed to avoid capture for nearly 24 hours. According to the official, the bombers told the carjack victim that they were going to New York and used his ATM card at various locations for cash. Investigators are trying to determine if the two had either friends or co-conspirators in New York, where they said they were headed more than once. But the haphazard, ill-planned escape has many investigators skeptical that there were other any radical Islamists involved in the brothers’ attack. “If they had accomplices in New York, you’d think they would have had an established contingency plan to get there, and wouldn’t be shooting cops and stealing cars,” the official said. “That said, we haven’t ruled out anything in New York. We’re looking into who they knew down there and was anyone in New York prepared to hide them.”
It looks like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are back on. At least if you’re going by reports of them kissing in Norway this weekend, and now this photo, which he posted on Twitter … only to delete it moments later. Why he nixed it, we have no idea, but it speaks for itself. What they did after this, we have no idea. But that look in her eyes makes it clear she’s into him. The look in his eyes … makes him look kind of high. High on LOVE. Or the weed. It was 4/20 after all. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber recently sparked rumors of a reconciliation when she jetted off to Oslo, Norway, to meet up with him during his tour. It’s been confirmed that they met up, and that they likely made out. The two lovebirds have seen each other off and on since breaking up at the end of last year; Selena is reportedly torturing the guy with mixed signals. Posting this pic for his fans, only to yank it down moments later, could qualify as the same on Justin’s part. Why post this if you’re gonna delete it?! First off, a cute girl is cozying up to him. Not a major surprise. Second, it’s his also-single ex and the pic is not scandalous. Third, nothing is truly “deleted” online. If you two are pawing one another again, just own it. Yeesh. Should Justin and Selena get back together? Yes, they are meant to be! No, he doesn’t deserve her! No, she doesn’t deserve him! View Poll »
The Boston bombing suspect captured alive Friday night suffered an injury to his throat and may not be able to talk, a federal official said this weekend. Officials also believe that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his deceased brother were hoping to launch more violent attacks before they were caught last week. This is likely, given the large quantity of explosives and ammunition they possessed, yet all evidence suggests the two brothers were acting alone. “All of the information I have is they acted alone, these two individuals, the brothers,’’ Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino said on ABC’s This Week .’ “The older brother’s dead now. We have the second one … in very serious condition,’’ he said. “We don’t know if we’ll ever be able to question the individual.” Menino’s comment only fueled more questions about the medical condition of Dzhokar Tsarnaev, whose injuries have not been disclosed – officially. The official, who was briefed on Tsarnaev’s condition and reported the throat injury, spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s clear Tsarnaev hasn’t spoken at all – yet. Federal prosecutors continue to patrol the heavily guarded Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where Tsarnaev is being treated for his wounds. CNN, which first reported the throat injury, did not describe it in detail or indicate how it might impact the captured suspect’s long-term prognosis. Authorities have not publicly detailed the injuries sustained by the teen, but another official said Sunday that he has been “intubated and sedated.” The official also spoke on condition of anonymity. A Justice Department official said that the 19-year-old will likely face federal terrorism charges and possibly state murder charges, no matter what. The government has invoked the public safety exception, a designation that allows investigators to question the teen without reading him his Miranda rights. Tsarnaev, 19, and his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev , 26, are accused of setting off two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday. Three people died and more than 170 were injured. The most serious charge available to federal prosecutors would be the use of a weapon of mass destruction, which carries a possible death sentence. Massachusetts does not have the death penalty. U.S. officials said an elite interrogation team would question the Massachusetts college student, assuming that’s even an option. At this point, it’s unclear. Other reports say that the sedated suspect could be charged officially as soon as today, at which point a judge would have to come to his bedside. Story developing …
Law enforcement did an amazing job of bringing this d-bag to justice! Video Of Police Surrounding Area Where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Was Found To think, police still might not have been able to locate Dzhokhar if the boat owner had not discovered the blood trail. Image via YouTube
The ratings may not be there on American Idol Season 12. But the talent is very much present. With Janelle Arthur being eliminated this week, we are down to the final four – and any one of Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller could take the grand prize next week. Who do we think deserves it? Once again, THG presents our American Idol Power Poll below, ranking the finalists from fourth to first… 4. Amber Holcomb. While her performance of ” What Are You Doing For The Rest of Your Life ” was technically flawless, it was old and a sleepy way to end the night. Amber struggles with the up-tempo numbers and isn’t as versatile as the other girls. 3. Kree Harrison . Kree falls to three this week after seeming disengaged during “She Talks To Angels.” Something just seemed off about her this week and we can’t quite put our finger on what it was. 2. Angie Miller . Angie behind the piano is a can’t-lose and her cover of Beyonce’s ” Halo ” had everything that Amber’s (from the previous week) didn’t. Energy, emotion, and excellence. This was a great week for Angie. 1. Candice Glover . Her arrangement of “Straight Up” made the song fresh and cool and ” When You Believe “? Well, after that performance the song should be retired from the Idol catalog. It’s unlikely anyone else will ever do it any better than Candice did. Unless we’re talking about Mariah herself, of course.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19-year-old suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing suspect captured last night, remains in serious condition as of this morning. He is being treated Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after being taken into custody in Watertown, Mass., and being transported via ambulance. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found hiding in a boat in the driveway of David Henneberry, who grew suspicious after he saw its tarp flapping in the wind. Henneberry went out to investigate when frustrated police lifted the town’s lockdown order around 6 p.m., and he noticed that the tarp had been cut. A closer inspection revealed it was stained with blood. Henneberry investigated further and, according to his stepson, “basically stuck his head under the tarp (and) noticed a pool of blood,” then called 911. Boston Bombing Suspect Shootout in Watertown That’s when law enforcement helicopters, cars and agents swarmed the property and cautiously approached Tsarnaev, who was taken alive around 9 p.m. Authorities reportedly fired on the boat (see video above), but likely only used “flash-bang” rounds in order to disorient the potentially armed suspect. Tsarnaev was not read his Miranda rights because the authorities invoked – or plan to invoke – the “public safety exception” to question him extensively. It’s unclear the extent to which this has occurred yet, but the U.S. Attorney’s Office wants to know about any potential explosive devices or accomplices. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died in a gunfight with police early Friday morning, after which his younger sibling escaped. Story developing …
