Damage Control: Frank Ocean’s Manager Issues Apology To Target Over ‘Anti-Gay’ Tweet Implications

Frank Ocean’s Manager Issues Apology To Target Frank Ocean’s manager did some damage control after recently posting a tweet that had fans in an uproar over Target’s decision not to carry the recently-outed singer’s new album . A manager for R&B singer Frank Ocean, who publicly came out of the closet last week, apologized to retail giant Target after suggesting that they would not be selling his clients CD because of his sexual orientation, according to a report from Billboard magazine. Target revealed that it would not be carrying Ocean’s debut studio album “Channel Orange,” due to the label’s decision to sell it digitally on iTunes ahead of its scheduled release date. But while Ocean’s manager Christian Clancy, announced via his Twitter page that they would not carry the disc due to the iTunes exclusive, he also implied that the decision had something to do with his admission about his sexuality. “Target has refused to carry Frank’s album because of iTunes exclusive,” Clancy initially tweeted.. “Interesting since they also donate to non-equal rights organizations.” But Target later issued a statement to Billboard magazine, denying that Ocean’s sexuality played any role in the matter. “The claims made about Target’s decision to not carry the Frank Ocean album are absolutely false. Target supports inclusivity and diversity in every aspect of our business. Our assortment decisions are based on a number of factors, including guest demand.” Clancy later backtracked on his tweet, saying “I apologize for my comments about Target. They are not carrying Frank’s album because it went digital first. Not for ANY other reason. … My response was simply an emotional knee jerk reaction. … Stop. Breath. Do the best you can. Be honest. Keep it moving.” Interesting turn of events. Do you think Target had ulterior motives for not carrying the album? Source

Channing Tatum Eyes a Magic Mike 2

Magic Mike has already scored just under $78 million at the box office since its release in late June and the production budget was only $7 million. Minus the marketing budget, the stripper feature has likely already packaged a hefty sum. But never mind the money, there’s plenty of skin to be had, so why not let the strip show go on? Actors flexing their hot bods is a winning formula, and Tatum teased recently that another round of Magic Mike is in the early stages. In a Twitter interview with Glamour magazine, Tatum said this when asked about a possible Magic Mike 2 : “Yes, yes and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.” Bigger? hmmm… Tatum didn’t provide much more in the way of details including whether director Steven Soderbergh has signed on for the follow-up or if co-stars Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and the rest of the cast will be donning the thong for a second round. He did offer up some insight in the making of the first Mike , however, saying that wearing a thong in front of people is “awkward,” adding, “I don’t know how you girls do it.” He also said in the Twitter back-and-forth that Joe Manganiello’s body was the most impressive. “He looks like he’s from Spartan blood!” said Tatum, referring to the war-waging city from Greek antiquity. He also said Manganiello and McConaughey were “a toss up” in the top stripping talent category. Tatum also shared that during McConaughey’s dance, the build-up was so intense that some women in the audience took matters into their own hands. “The women lost their minds and ripped his thong off,” he said. DVD extra anyone? In non-related Tatum news, it was revealed yesterday that Tatum is in negotiations to star and produce a film about 1970s-era daredevil Evel Knievel. “I did a belly flop from a really high bridge,” Tatum offered up when asked about the biggest stunt he’s pulled off. “That was one of the more painful things I’ve done!” [Source: Glamour ]

Daughters of Demi Moore: Done with Mama Drama!

Demi’s Moore ex-husband is hooking up with Mila Kunis . But that’s not the worst news facing this actress these days. According to Radar Online, Moore’s daughters – Scout, Rumer and Tallulah, the latter of whom is caught in a naked photo scandal – are giving their mother the silent treatment. How come? They don’t want to “deal with the drama” anymore, this anonymous insider claims. Ever since Moore and Kutcher split, Demi has reportedly grown extra needy, acting more like a “sister” than a mother. Adds the mole of the three siblings: “They are all concerned that she is going to relapse and head back to rehab, and they can’t deal with the stress and worry of it. The breaking point was Tallulah’s graduation. None of the girls wanted Demi there, but she turned up anyway and it was really strained.” Moreover, Scout, Rumer and Tallulah all adore Ashton, making things a tad awkward around their actual, non-step parents. Concludes the source: “This won’t be forever, but for now the girls just need a little breathing space and to concentrate on themselves and their own lives.”

White People’s Day: Chris Rock July 4 Tweet Sparks Debate, Outrage

In wishing people a Happy White People’s Day July 4, Chris Rock stirred up debate and sparked controversy as many accused the outspoken comedian of racism. On Independence Day, the star fired off the following tweet: “Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks.” Predictably, some people went absolutely ballistic. Rock is, of course, 100 percent correct in noting that black people in America were kept as slaves and treated horribly – for nearly a century after 1776, no less. This is accepted as fact and with shame by almost everyone, but the Tweet struck a nerve with many who seem to really hate black people mentioning slavery. Nearly 150 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, so-called “reverse racism” achieves little and widens our divisions, or so the common argument goes. Wrote one non-fan: “Chris Rock says ‘happy

Lamar Odom to Be Traded to Clippers

Following a disastrous stint on the Dallas Mavericks, which culminated in Lamar Odom being sent home and embarrassed by his poor play and lack of heart, this former world champion is returning to Los Angeles. A trade is nearing completion that would send Mr. Khloe Kardashian to the Clippers (in a complicated, three-time scenario, Mo Williams would end up on the Utah Jazz in return), the team that drafted him fourth overall in 1999. Odom, 32, averaged career lows in points, rebounds and minutes per game last year. He averaged career highs, however, in reality show cameos and red carpet appearances. The deal is expected to be finalized today, at which time E! cameramen will exchange high-fives and leave Dallas behind forever.

President Obama Praises Supreme Court Health Care Ruling; Celebrities Tweet Reactions

After the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Obamacare on Thursday, the President who fought and sacrificed for the controversial law praised the 5-4 ruling. While the court placed limitations on Congress’ power to regulate commerce and the U.S. government’s ability to restrict state funds, the law stood. The survival of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) – pejoratively or affectionately called Obamacare – signaled a major victory for Barack Obama. “Today’s decision was a victory for people all over this country whose lives are more secure because of this law,” Obama said in a televised statement. President Obama Reacts to Supreme Court Health Care Ruling “I know the debate over this law has been divisive,” he added. “It should be pretty clear that I didn’t do this because it was good politics.” “I did it because I believe it is good for the country.” Obama encouraged on his Twitter account for Americans to share what the Supreme Court ruling means to them and some celebrities did just that. Here’s a sampling of some stars’ reactions … Jason Alexander: “I applaud the Supreme Court and congratulate the President today. The bill isn’t perfect, we can fix it, but it’s the right direction.” Piers Morgan: “Must be a lot of people watching Obama’s SCOTUS speech just now, thinking: ‘That’s why we voted for him.'” Bette Midler: “Obama Health Care passes! The wing nuts must be boiling!” Deepak Chopra: “I will be honored to be taxed for compassionate health care.” Sophia Bush: “I am so grateful for the Supreme Court, and I heart Barack Obama so much right now. He cares about us, the average citizens of this country, more than he cares about pleasing all the scared-to-change people in power. That’s heroic, admirable, and exactly what we need. F–k yes Mr. President, you are a unicorn.” – on a photo of Obama on a unicorn Bush posted. Holly Robinson Peete: “I run a non profit and talk to real people every day all day. Families cannot afford healthcare.” Seth MacFarlane: “We gotta stop that tycoon from turning our park into a shopping mall.” John Legend: “Supreme Court has me in a good mood right now. America getting closer to universal access to affordable health care. It’s about time.” Christina Applegate: “Um, for those who want to move to Canada because of ObamaCare, you may want to look up Canada healthcare on Wikipedia. Just saying’.” Jessica Stroup: “Hey Barack Obama this song’s for you now playing My Hero by Foo Fighters.” Star Jones: “I’m waiting for read the actual SCOTUS healthcare ruling…and try to make it ‘user friendly’ for most of us.” MC Hammer: “Strategy: Positioning this as a threat to lower income majority won’t gain any new voters, that card has already been played.” Waka Flocka: “ObamaCare!… just when they started to doubt my man.” Michael Moore: “It’s not ‘Obamacare’ – it’s Obama Cares.” Wanda Sykes: “Drama at CNN.
