How Miley Cyrus Forced Disney to Ban On-Set Tweeting

Miley Cyrus may have been one of the first stars to famously delete her Twitter — as she told Movieline , “It’s dangerous, it’s not fun, [and] it wastes your life” — but who knew that her habits could dampen other people’s online oversharing? According to her director pal Adam Shankman, he and Cyrus are responsible for a new no-tweeting stipulation that Disney has started to write into its cast and crew contracts. #howdidthishappen?

WaPo’s David Weigel Again Exposed Trashing the Right He’s Supposed to Cover

Many conservatives, including a number of NewsBusters contributors, have been skeptical of Washington Post blogger Dave Weigel since he was hired in March to cover the right. Time and again, those concerns have been vindicated as Weigel has ridiculed a number of conservatives and conservative positions. It seems that the Washington Post has little interest in an objective blog-based approach to the news — something this humble blogger has noted previously . Likewise, Weigel seems to have little interest in covering the right with an even hand; he has consistently shown his disdain for the movement and its members. The website Fishbowl DC today published a number of excerpts of emails from Weigel to an email list created by fellow Post blogger Ezra Klein ridiculing various conservatives. He says he hopes Matt Drudge will “set himself on fire” and dubbed Tea Party protesters “Paultard[s],” a crude reference to Ron Paul. Weigel also apparently does not appreciate being made fun of. After the Washington Examiner’s gossip blog Yeas and Neas published a piece taunting his dance moves, Weigel called on members of the email list to refrain from linking to any Examiner content. Weigel took heat in May for calling gay marriage opponents ” bigots ” and for stating on his Twitter account , “I hear there’s video out there of Matt Drudge diddling an 8-year-old boy. Shocking.” NewsBusters contributor Dan Gainor called Weigel out on his inappropriate statements, noting that his new employment at the Post required a heightened degree of professionalism that he may not have been used to. Apparently that message was lost on Weigel. As a reporter for an organization as prominent as the Post, Weigel should not be surprised when he catches flack for making unprofessional and inappropriate statements. Weigel has taken to his blog to apologize for and defend the most recent comments. But his excuses really do not make any difference. The comments he is trying to defend demonstrate his hostility towards conservatives and conservatism. A journalist who reverts to name-calling and derisive criticism of those who is charged with covering cannot seriously claim to be covering them fairly. “I feel [Weigel’s] column often looks for ways that make conservatives look bad,” wrote Gainor in March, “while his opposite number, the Post’s Ezra Klein, is an open liberal and spends his time making the left look good.” Who knows, maybe that was the point all along.

Rick Ross Talks ‘Blowin’ Money Fast (B.M.F.)’ Video

The Bawse says Diddy, Bun B turn up in clip for Albert Anastasia EP track; hints Spike Lee may direct ‘Live Fast, Die Young.’ By Shaheem Reid Rick Ross Photo: MTV News Rick Ross has been busy building visuals. At the top of this week, the Bawse and director Parris completed production in New York City on his video for street banger “Blowin’ Money Fast (B.M.F.)” with the likes of the Lox, Bun B and Diddy showing up to set. Ross plans to shoot two more clips soon: one for “MC Hammer,” and the other for “Live Fast, Die Young,” off the upcoming Teflon Don. “Shout out to Spiff TV,” Ross said this past Saturday at Atlanta’s Philips Arena. He’d just come offstage, after performing at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash 15 concert . “Spiff [is directing] ‘MC Hammer’. We haven’t shot it yet, but shout out to MC Hammer. We talked a couple of times. We just putting everything together,” Ross said. “I think it’s gonna be real cool to make sure he’s in it. I think it’s mandatory that Hammer bless the screen man. Look out for Parris — we shot the first half of ‘B.M.F.’ in Carol City [and] Little Haiti,” the Miami MC said of the Florida backdrops. “Everybody, they just gonna come [show] respect for the streets, the movement is feeling good.” As for the video for the Kanye West-produced “Live Fast, Die Young,” Ross is thinking bigger budgets and an A-list director. He recently took to his Twitter and posted a photograph of himself and Spike Lee, hinting that he and one of Brooklyn’s finest may be teaming up soon. “What I actually tweeted — and you should actually follow me @rickyrozay — when I was in Hawaii, me and Kanye did a different kind of record and it may take a different kind of director. It was me, up in the middle of the night reflecting. It was an actual picture [from when] Spike came out to my birthday. I had a private get-together in Miami. Spike came out, we discussed a few things. It’s one of those things [that] I call speaking it into existence. I feel once I put something in my mind, I can accomplish it. Shout out to the big homie F. Gary Gray. I can’t commend him enough. We pulled that off with ‘Super High’,” Ross said of landing the Hollywood director for the visual. “Whoever would have thought? It’s something that’s most definitely possible.” While the bearded MC is looking forward to the “Live Fast” video, with whoever may sign on to direct, he said it was important to keep his priorities straight. “First and foremost, we gotta release the record,” he smiled, referring to “Live Fast, Die Young.” “It’s real close. I’mma tell you that. Thanks to everybody for the support on ‘Super High.’ We about to crack top 10 on that. I told myself, once I crack top 10 with the first record, I was gonna come with that next big one. It’s feeling like in the next week or two, we could be coming with it. It’s something I’m most definitely anticipating, all the pieces to the project fell into place. July 20, Teflon Don in stores.” After seeing Ross’ Hollywood-style “Super High” video, are you eagerly anticipating more clips? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Rick Ross (Hip-Hop)

Double Negative Exposure: Bravo Show Calls Out Lindsay Lohan

Bravo’s new show Double Exposure , which takes you behind the lens of celebrity photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani, aired its second episode last night. The subject of the episode: Lindsay Lohan, and how the irresponsible train wreck almost sabotaged a photo shoot for her own line of leggings. Now she’s pissed! Centered around the troubled youngster bailing on a New York photo shoot that went down back in September, the episode is titled, “Is Lindsay Here Yet?” It’s a valid question. Sources close to the production say Lindsay was 11 hours late for the shoot, scheduled for 10 a.m. Her excuse? “She woke up late.” At 9 p.m.!? It’s worth noting that when the actress did eventually show up, a source reports, “she was fantastic to work with … it’s the ‘getting there’ that’s another story.” She also hit it off with the star of the show, even sparking rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Indrani (above) were dating. So it must have gone alright in the end. Nevertheless, Lindsay is obviously pissed about the way the episode is being promoted, taking to her Twitter page to claim that everything is “UNTRUE.” Right . “Sucks when ‘friends’ use you (in this case for ratings) even if they’re lyin,” she wrote. “I don’t appreciate being used for press, I’m sure others would agree!” In typical fashion, she blamed others and offered a really bad excuse , Tweeting: “I was given the wrong call time – now I know on purpose… it was a set-up.” Isn’t it always for Lindsay Lohan? Sucks when everyone sets you up, 24/7/365. Here’s hoping she shows up to her upcoming nude hangbag shoot !

Hit From Left Over Obama Criticism, Olbermann Quits Kos

When the vitriol is too much for Keith Olbermann, something is seriously wrong. The MSNBC prime time anchor parted ways with the far-left Web site Daily Kos on Wednesday, citing the site’s apparent unflinching, see-no-evil attitude towards President Obama, and the omnipresence of wild leftist conspiracy theories there. “You want Cheerleaders? Hire the Buffalo Jills,” Olbermann wrote . “You want diaries with conspiracy theories, go nuts. If you want this site the way it was even a year ago, let me know and I’ll be back.” The divorce came after Kossacks relentlessly railed on Olbermann for having the gall to criticize their dear leader for his let-down of a national address on Tuesday. He took to his Twitter account to defend the decision . Olbermann’s explanation apparently did not satisfy the Kossacks, one of whom wrote that Olbermann had “transformed from Edward Murrow wannabe to a clown.” But what really got Olbermann riled up were some of the comments on that post. The one that he chose to highlight accused him and his MSNBC superiors of fabricating their outrage over the president’s address in an attempt to improve ratings. That Keith did not appreciate. And now he’s gone. Are you happy, Kossacks?

Opta world cup 2010 data: every shot, every tackle and every goal

How does this world cup compare to previous tournaments? Take a look at the data • Get the data Well, we’re at the end of the group stage of World Cup 2010 and what have we learnt so far? Opta (this is their Twitter feed ), which covers 30 different sports in around 70 countries, has agreed to let the Datablog publish the complete statistical analysisall the games so far in the tournament. Owen Gibson writes today that “At the end of Spain’s shock defeat by Switzerland, which may actually prove to be the moment at which the tournament caught fire, there had been a total of 1.56 goals per game.” Opta’s statistics, which measure the opening round of games against the same stage at the last three World Cups, show that the goal per game ratio compares poorly. In Germany in 2006, it was 2.44, in Japan-South Korea in 2002 it was 2.88 and at France 98 it was 2.31 … Opta’s figures show that the number of shots in each game is about 10% down on 2006. They also show that the goals-to-shots ratio, at 7.9%, is also well down. In the past three tournaments, it never went below 10.8% in the opening round of matches. Shooting accuracy – the ratio of shots to efforts on target – is 33% at this World Cup so far, compared with 40% at the same stage in Germany, 43% in Japan-South Korea and 41% in France.
