But it now looks like Whoopi Goldberg and McCain have butted heads, as the two got into a testy exchange during the hot topic subject of abortion on Monday and the different political stances of the 2020 presidential candidates. In the past McCain has voiced her pro-life position, which runs in direct opposition to Goldberg’s more liberal views, along with Behar. Host Sunny Hostin chimed in saying that her alignment with her religion (Hostin is Catholic) makes her against abortion, but also voiced that allowing abortion only in the instance of a rape conviction makes things even more complicated. “I think this is something that’s going to have to go up to the Supreme Court,” she said. Source: Michael Campanella / Getty The Feds have Tekashi69 and his affiliates in their sights , and they continue to drop. Another defendant in the conspiracy case against the Brooklyn rapper has pleaded guilty. By the reports, this guy was “The Shooter.” Reports Complex : On Monday, Kintea “Kooda B” McKenzie, became the eighth defendant in the 6ix9ine racketeering case to plead guilty, according to court documents. The defendant appeared in Manhattan District Court for his alleged connection to the shooting of Chief Keef outside the W Hotel in Times Square. McKenzie pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Kooda allegedly accepted a $10,000 payment from 6ix9ine for carrying out the shooting in June 2018. In his guilty plea in January, 6ix9ine admitted to his role in the attack and named McKenzie as the shooter. However, in February, Kooda was granted bail despite the mounting evidence against him. Unlike many of the other defendants in the case, McKenzie is not suspected of being a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Interestingly, despite being named the shooter, McKenzie was granted bail earlier this year. “Today, Kintea McKenzie admitted his responsibility for a brazen shooting in bustling Times Square,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a statement. “In coordination with Tekashi 6ix9ine and other Nine Trey gang members, McKenzie arranged to have another individual shoot at a rival gang member. We continue our daily work with our law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe and to vigorously investigate acts of violence committed by gang members.” Reportedly, the Feds pegged McKenzie to the scene via DNA evidence found on a discarded water bottle. L aw enforcement in Virginia Beach has been frantically searching for stories for why 40-year-old DeWayne Craddock shot and killed 12 people on Friday. Initial reporting claimed he was a disgruntled city employee but a new report indicated that theory has been debunked, leaving even more questions. See Also: Watch A Black Man Save His Life While A White Cop Has A Gun In His Face Craddock was reportedly not fired from his job after all. Instead, he resigned just hours before the shooting and PBS reported that his letter of resignation gave no indication that he was anger or upset. City Manager Dave Hansen also said Craddock was an employee “in good standing” and showed “satisfactory” job performance. It was not immediately clear why he resigned. However, the New York Times reported there were acts of violence from Craddock. He allegedly got into physical “scuffles” with other city workers, just a week before, which resulted in “a violent altercation on city grounds.” It’s not clear what the altercations were about. That said, there were at least three witnesses who said Craddock saw and locked eyes with them but opted against shooting them. Therefore, the shooting may not be as random as officials have said while police continue to look for a clear motive. The Washington Post reported that there was one person with whom Craddock “casual acquaintances” who was not shot. Craddock did shoot and kill two of his supervisors, one fatally. Craddock was described as a longtime city worker employed as an engineer with the Department of Public Utilities at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center for about 15 years. “ Victims were found on three floors of Building 2 and one victim was found shot in a car outside,” CBS News reported . Building 2 is where the Department of Public Utilities is located. The Virginia Beach city manager told the New York Times that Craddock was technically still employed when he started shooting and that he “had a security pass like all employees had and he was authorized to enter the building.” One of the victims, Ryan Keith Cox , was being praised as a hero and guardian angel . Cox was an account clerk who worked in the public utilities department for over 12 years. Christi Dewar, a survivor of the shooting says she may not be alive if it wasn’t for Cox. “If it wasn’t for him, there would have been several more people that had perished,” Cox said. Our condolences go out to everyone affected by this shooting. Ellen DeGeneres is known for being one of the funniest people in the world. In an interview with David Letterman for Season 2 of that comedian’s Netflix series, however, DeGeneres opens up about something very serious. And also very personal… … she was molested as a teenager by her stepfather. In her upcoming appearance on Letterman‘s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, DeGeneres says on stage that her mother, Betty, married a “very bad man” when DeGeneres was a young woman. DeGeneres explains in this chat that her mom had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and had one of her breasts removed when the incident took place. The stepfather then used this situation and this information to set DeGeneres up. In an absolutely horrific way. “He told me when she was out of town that he’d felt a lump in her breast and needed to feel my breasts because he didn’t want to upset her, but he needed to feel mine,” Ellen tells Letterman, adding: “He convinced me that he needs to feel my breasts and then he tries to do it again another time, and then another time.” DeGeneres was 15 or 16 when this happened. “I’m angry at myself because… I was too weak to stand up,” DeGeneres continues in recalling this painful memory. “It’s a really horrible, horrible story and the only reason I’m actually going to go into detail about it is because I want other girls to not ever let someone do that.” DeGeneres eventually goes into even more detail about the alleged incident, recalling how her stepfather attempted to break down her bedroom door and she fled out her window because she knew “it was going to go more to something.” It took Ellen a few years to tell her mom about the assault. Betty didn’t believe her at the time and remained married to the main for 18 more years. After he kept changing his story and Betty finally realized her daughter had been telling the truth… she left him. DeGeneres initially talked about this abuse in an interview with Allure in 2005. She said back then that her former stepfather had died. Betty has appeared on her daughter’s talk show on a number of occasions. As for how her relationship is with her mother is these days? “I always have taken care of her my whole life,” Ellen tells Letterman. “So I just kept taking care of her. I didn’t really let it get to me. Until recently, I kind of went, ‘I wish I would have been better taken care of. I wish she would have believed me.’ And she’s apologetic, but, you know…” DeGeneres went on to say that she hopes her story will inspire other victims of abuse. “We [women] just don’t feel like we’re worthy, or we’re scared to have a voice, and we’re scared to say no,” she says. “That’s the only reason I think it’s important to talk about it because there’s so many young girls and it doesn’t matter how old you are. When I see people speaking out, especially now, it angers me when victims aren’t believed, because we just don’t make stuff up. “And I like men, but there are so many men that get away with so much. “It is just time for us to have a voice. It’s time for us to have power.” Amen. Source: Nia Noelle / Nia Noelle A massive undercover sting operation took place recently took place in several southeast states, which resulted in 82 alleged predators being arrested, and 17 children being rescued. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation , which led the four-month investigation, Operation Southern Impact III, targeted people who possess and distribute child pornography and those exploiting children on the internet in other ways. Within three days of the sting, search warrants and arrests were executed to suspects in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. GBI released a statement on Friday, stating that the list of suspects captured in the sting includes a youth group leader, a former high school band director and a firefighter, whose ages range from 20 to 70 and four of them were already registered sex offenders. The statement read: “A goal of the operation was to arrest persons who communicate with children on-line and then travel to meet them for the purpose of having sex. On-line child predators visit chat rooms and websites on the internet, find children, begin conversations with them, introduce sexual content and arrange a meeting with the children for the purpose of having sex.” Along with the 17 victims who were rescued and identified as victims, police also found eight firearms, ammunition and drugs. Source: boonchai wedmakawand / Getty Are folks just shooting guns all willy nilly in Florida now? A 66-year old man is facing aggravated assault charges after firing his gun at two juveniles and an adult who wouldn’t leave the community pool. Richard Marcelle approached the young people, saying that the pool was closed and they needed to leave, despite the fact that the pool was still open. After realizing that the pool was open until 10pm, and it was 9pm when Marcelle approached them, the victims approached the man and told him that they were going to stay because the pool was still open. But Marcelle wasn’t having it. He blocked the victims as they tried to get back into the pool area and then fired a small revolver-style handgun at the soil. Capt. Christopher Roos, with the Ormond Beach Police Department says there are no signs that the trio was doing anything illegal. He added, “[Marcelle] is a member of the HOA and the HOA did actually change the pool hours. However, they hadn’t notified the homeowner’s association members yet or posted it. The video definitely shows him holding a handgun, and you can see where it looks like a round fires off into the ground and you can see the dust from the ground kicks up at the same time.” Thanks to surveillance video at the club house, police identified Marcelle as a suspect in the case. Footage also showed that the victims were unarmed and posed no threat to the man. Marcelle has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firing a gun.
