Source: RADOSLAW KOLESNIK / Getty Five Teenagers Were Killed In An Escape Room After A Fire Erupted Five teenage girls were killed–and one man was injured–in a fire that broke out in an “escape room” venue in northern Poland, according to authorities on Saturday. The 15-year-old girls were said to be celebrating one of their birthdays in the town of Koszalin when the fire encircled the venue at around 5 PM. Local firefighters revealed that the incident was likely the result of faulty electrical wiring in addition to a lack of proper security. Poland’s firefighting chief, Leszek Suski, explained that the wiring was in dangerously close proximity to flammable materials saying, “Security was not ensured and that led to the tragedy.” Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski has reportedly issued fire safety tests at other similar venues following this tragic incident. The president also shared his condolences on Saturday, calling the incident a “crushing tragedy.” The girls’ bodies were reportedly found once local firefighters had extinguished the blaze. In addition to the death of these girls, an injured 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital for severe burns following the incident. If you aren’t already familiar with escape rooms, this probably isn’t the best time to tell you to go. Escape rooms have become increasingly popular around the world after first originating in Japan. The experience is an in-person simulated adventure where players are made to feel endangered, as if they’re trapped. Participants are typically locked inside a room and asked to complete puzzles and different intricate tasks under pressures to exit. There are said to be over 1,000 similar venues across Poland.

The “Girls Best Friend” video came out in December with some help from Ty Dolla $ign, and now, it’s time for “Hot Wings” to get its shine. As one might imagine, the video takes place in and outside of an actual chicken spot–American Deli, of course–where Chainz is surrounded by some fellow wing enthusiasts. The rapper ends the night on the roof with some stunning shots of Atlanta’s skyline in the back. Check out 2 Chainz’s latest video for yourself: Continue reading →
Source: Joshua Lott / Getty Fair or foul??? Chance The Rapper Initially Didn’t Believe The R. Kelly Victims Because They Were Black Women Chance The Rapper is getting eviscerated for an interview that aired during the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary. Before the final episode of the four-part special aired on Lifetime, Rolling Stone posted that a clip from an interview done by our brother site Cassius would air featuring Chance admitting grievances to Jamilah Lemieux. In the interview Chance, who brought out R. Kelly in 2014 at Lollapalooza and who collaborated with the singer on “Somewhere in Paradise”, told Jamilah that he’d made a mistake. “Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women,” said Chance. “I made a mistake.” But that’s not all Chance said. In the full interview, Chance added that while black women are “higher oppressed”, there’s hypersensitivity to black male oppression—which is why he had his doubts. He also added that victims who get the attention of this magnitude or usually light skinned or white. “We’re programmed to really be hypersensitive to black male oppression, but black women are exponentially higher oppressed and violated group of people just in comparison to the whole world,” said Chance. “Maybe I didn’t care because I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women.” “Usually, n****s that get in trouble for s*** like this on their magnitude of celebrity, it’s light-skinned women or white women. That’s when it’s a big story. I’ve never really seen any pictures of R. Kelly’s accusers.” “I made a mistake and I’m happy that those women are getting voices now and I can grow to understand better what my positioning should be or should’ve been when that opportunity came.” Both Chance and Jamilah have cried foul over the Rolling Stone article and said the quote was taken out of context. pic.twitter.com/bqbKlsDA9l — Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) January 6, 2019 FYI, I conducted the interview with Chance in May. He spoke clearly and unequivocally in support of BW and the victims. https://t.co/uhTZT9TvEA — Jamilah Lemieux (@JamilahLemieux) January 6, 2019 Still despite that, the “didn’t value accuser’s stories” line is getting Chance dragged by people who couldn’t believe he thought that way—in particular, because he’s the product of a black woman and has a black daughter. A product of a black woman did not believe black children were raped SOLELY because they were black. Not for any other reason but hatred for black women. U don’t get kudos for finally realizing how trash that is. — J. Holiday’s Gucci Jacket (@eleven8) January 6, 2019 What the headline should have read is: Despite Chance the Rapper having a black daughter and fiancé he discounted the victim’s stories because they were black women. He now regrets making music with a sexual predator because it is bad for his brand. https://t.co/9TMFiNqkdn — Ariel Hazzard (@ArielHazzard) January 6, 2019 Should Chance be given credit for trying to absolve himself of his past bias—-or is it too little too late?
Source: tirc83/Getty Images / Getty Andrew Johnson Wrestles After Dreadlock Cutting Controversy Andrew Johnson is back to wrestling after that national controversy surrounding his dreadlocks. As previously reported Andrew’s hair was snipped on the sidelines of a match in December as ordered by racist ref Alan Maloney. Maloney was then suspended indefinitely and banned from working in the district where the match was. Now Andrew’s returned to wrestling 16 days later. NewJersey.com reports that Andrew, unfortunately, lost his first bout to state qualifier Jaden Hinton who opened the eight-team tournament on Saturday. Andrew wrestled without a hair cover, which is what was suggested instead of cutting his dreadlocks. His family previously said that he wanted to return to regular “life.” His parents Charles and Rosa Johnson are still considering legal action and said via an attorney that Referee Maloney’s behavior “appears more egregious as additional information comes to light.” The Johnsons alleged that the Maloney was late to the meet and didn’t question Andrew’s hair or the need for a head covering during the initial evaluation but then changed his mind and ordered it cut. Source: Vivien Killilea / Getty Drake Facing Backlash After Old Video Of Him Inappropriately Touching A 17-Year Old Girl Resurfaces According TMZ , Drake is in hot water after an old video of the rap superstar resurfaces, showing him kissing and touching a 17-year old girl inappropriately on stage during a concert. In light of Lifetime’s “Surviving R.Kelly” documentary , its a little unsettling to see what transpired on stage. Reportedly from a show at the Ogden Theatre in May 2010. You can see Drake on stage with the young fan, who he begins slow-dancing with before getting behind her and slowly smelling her hair. Drake appears to caress her and kiss her neck, and says to the crowd “Y’all gonna have me get carried away again. I get in trouble for sh*t like this; how old are you?” The girls tells him she’s only 17, the crowd cheers then Drake creepily replies, “I can’t go to jail yet, man! Seventeen? How do you look like that? You thick. Look at all this.” But things really get strange when he tells the girl he had fun with her and liked the way her breasts felt against his chest then finishes the encounter with more kisses, including on the lips. Drake was 23 at the time of the video, and age of consent in Colorado is reportedly 17, but fans still are uncomfortable with the footage.

On New Year’s Eve, Madonna surprised partygoers when she popped up at the Stonewall Inn, and had an impromptu performance on stage. But it wasn’t the vocalist’s voice that wowed social media, it was the seemingly curvier backside that prompted everyone to wonder if the pop queen had gotten butt implants, and ultimately sent the internets into a frenzy. Madonna wanted the haters to know that she could care less about their comments and she’s going into 2019 living her best life. Continue reading →
Source: James Devaney / Getty Winners Unorthodox Dems Newly elected officials were sworn into Congress this week causing the Democrats to take over the House from Republicans. The Dems line-up features diverse representatives including Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, the first Muslim women elected to Congress, Deb Haaland and Sharice Davids , the first Native women elective to Congress, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez , the youngest person elected to Congress at 29 years old. Less than a week in office and the new faces are already proving they’re not your typical Congress people. Rashida Tlaib made this even more apparent when a video surfaced of her dropping the F-bomb to a crowd of supporters. In a speech about winning her seat, Tlaib said she was going to take on “bullies” while in office (ahem…TRUMP). “When your son looks at you and says ‘momma look you won,’ bullies don’t win,” Rashida said. “And I said ‘baby they don’t’ because we’re going to go in there and we’re going to impeach the motherfucker.” Rashida Tlaib on Trump: “We're going to impeach the Motherf***er” https://t.co/cCyKN4mzYk pic.twitter.com/hoFUOsxuQp — Newsweek (@Newsweek) January 4, 2019 RASHIDA IS NOT PLAYING GAMES. The Internet was shocked by her frankness, but for the most part, her supporters were on the verge of a praise break… “Impeach the mother fucker,” said new Dem Rep Rashida Tlaib. I think I love this new House. — Scott Dworkin (@funder) January 4, 2019 I have no problem at all with what freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib said. The people of Michigan didn’t send her there to bake fucking cookies for all them assholes. #Morningjoe — Luke (@JDLuckenbach) January 4, 2019 But of course Republicans were clutching their pearls at Rashida’s language…despite having a president who has a river-length history of foul statements. Even some Democrats chastised Rashida with California Rep. Jim Costa calling her words “inappropriate,” according to CNN . But Rashida wasn’t about to take back her delivery. She posted a tweet on Friday saying “I will always speak truth to power.” I will always speak truth to power. #unapologeticallyMe — Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) January 4, 2019 This is not your respectable Congress. Now let’s hope those policies match with the big talk.
In December of 2017, the adult film world was shocked by the suicide of August Ames , an up-and-coming 23-year-old performer who had recently taken the industry by storm. Ames’ death came on the heels of an ugly social media confrontation prompted by some controversial comments she made about a fellow performer. “Whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews, you’re shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know,” Ames tweeted just two days before her passing. “BS is all I can say… Do agents really not care about who they’re representing?… I do my homework for my body.” The tweet prompted immediate backlash from both fans and fellow performers, many of whom accused Ames of homophobia. Ames — who was herself bisexual — quickly clarified her position, tweeting: “NOT homophobic. Most girls don’t shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That’s just how it is with me. I’m not putting my body at risk, i don’t know what they do in their private lives.” The charge to denigrate Ames was led by fellow adult performers Jaxton Wheeler and Jessica Drake, who recently claimed she was harassed by Donald Trump . “Performers, by all means, f–k who you want to f–k…but if you’re eliminating folks based on the fact they they (sic) may have done gay or crossover work, your logic is seriously flawed,” Drake tweeted. “Reality is, WE DON’T KNOW who does what with whom when there are no cameras.” Within hours of Drake’s tweet, Ames was found dead in a public park roughly 20 minutes from her home. Her death was ruled a suicide by hanging. At the Adult Video News Awards six weeks later, Ames’ widower, Kevin Moore, was greeted with thunderous applause when he took the stage to defend the right of all performers to work with whomever they choose. Drake was in the audience as fans wearing t-shirts honoring Ames gave Moore a standing ovation. The narrative that formed around Ames’ death was quick and convenient — PC hysteria had led to rampant cyberbullying, which resulted in Ames’ decision to take her own life. Now, however, in a new podcast entitled the Last Days of August , author Jon Ronson argues that the situation is far more complex than originally thought. Throughout her life, Ames was open about her traumatic childhood and her struggles with mental illness. Ronson says her short time in the adult film industry shattered Ames’ psyche, a theory he formed after viewing the final scene that she filmed, which has never been released to the public. “When you think about it, what we were watching in that moment was the moment that she decided to die. That’s what we were watching and it’s awful,” Ronson recently told the New York Post . “That was the truth of it, that was the moment when she reached the point of no return. The Twitter bullying may have been the icing on the cake, as some people described it.” Ronson says the scene very clearly took Ames outside of her comfort zone as she was brutalized by a domineering Russian porn star named Markus Dupree. “On more than one occasion in the footage, Markus forcefully repositions August, which visibly startles her,” Ronson’s co-host, Jessica Misitzis, says in the podcast. “She says ‘Whoa s–t!’ and at one point Markus picks up her pink thong, stretches it around her head, jerks her around by it, and then shoves it in her mouth. “At the end of her scene, August is interviewed by a crew member to establish consent for legal purposes. She’s staring straight into the camera, holding up her check for the day’s work, her makeup’s gone and her hair is pulled back, she looks resigned and emotional and hollow all at once,” Mitzis adds. “‘Were you treated OK?’ she’s asked. And flatly, and quietly she says, ‘Yes.’ For the first time in this footage, all the camera is focused on is August’s face and she seems like she’s verging on tears.” In text messages viewed by Ronson and Mitzis, Ames complains to a friend that Dupree went “full on War Machine,” a reference to the adult perfomer who assaulted Christy Mack in 2014. Six weeks after filming that scene, Ames took her own life. The Last Days of August is currently available on Audible.
