TV Nudity Report:True Blood, Weeds [PICS]

There must have been something in the water this weekend, because despite the usual mid-summer slump we were treated to two scenes of full nudity on the boob tube. Most surprising is a return to naked form for Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker , who bared boobs, bush and butt under the light of the full moon. There are only a few episodes left before Weeds calls it quits-is this Mary-Louise’s fond farewell to fapping fans? Also, Jessica Clark strapped on a merkin and doused her fully nude form in fake blood as the vampire goddess Lillith on True Blood. Think a pube wig and a little bit of corn syrup and food coloring is going to put us off, Jessica? We’ve milked the lizard to Drew Barrymore ‘s bloody shower scene in Doppelganger: The Evil Within (1993). Bring it on. More after the jump!

Mr. Skin’s Blu-Ray Discoveries: The Woman [PIC]

” The Woman ? What’s so special about that? This website is full of women,” you might say. But we can guarantee you that not many of those women are as fearless, ferocious or as fantastically full-frontal as Pollyanna McIntosh , the TIT-ular star of Lucky McKee ‘s skingoria sensation The Woman (2011). Polyanna stars as a feral female kidnapped and chained in a basement by a self-righteous suburban clan that wants to “train” this latter-day Nell to become a “normal”, God-fearing, fully clothed woman. Without giving too much away, let’s just say backwoods babe Pollyanna isn’t exactly grateful for the “help.” We know better than to tame a gorgeous creature like Pollyanna here at Mr. Skin, but our Blu-ray ninja reviewed the footage anyway and found some enticing lower lippage amidst the tangled underbrush. Now that’s our kind of wild thing! Mr. Skin members can see more form Pollyanna McIntosh in The Woman (2011) right here at MrSkin.com!

Showtime Chief Gazes into Crystal Ball, Predicts the Future of Shameless, Dexter, and More

It was show-and-tell time for Showtime entertainment president David Nevins this week as he appeared in Hollywood for the annual Television Critics Association press convention. And Nevin had some skinteresting things to say about some of the premium network’s breast series: Shameless took center stage at this year’s TCA, with stars Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy on hand to promote the show. During the roundtable Emmy had this tidbit to share on the future of her character: “Fiona loses her way a bit. She’ll go off the rails for several episodes before hitting a wall. Everyone has a moment where they realize they become like their parents,” Rossum said. As long as “going off the rails” involves taking off her clothes, we’re with her all the way. Then Nevins said that Dexter ” may extend ” beyond its recent two-season renewal, and confirmed that the show will continue down its twisted path of adopted-sibling passion between real-life exes Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall : “I’m aware that there’s a certain taboo despite the fact that they’re not genetically related, but it’s something that has been building for a number of years. If you go back and look the past couple seasons, it’s an idea that has informed how they’ve done the show for a long time.” Nevins also addressed Weeds ‘ sinking ratings, saying that the drug-dealing dramedy may have cleared its bong load and there is a ” real possibility ” that its upcoming eighth season will also be its last. So smoke ’em if you got ’em, Mary-Lousie Parker fans! A brighter future is in store for the historical drama The Borgias , which executive producer James Flynn says he can see lasting for at least four seasons (It begins its second April 8). Check out the breast of Showtime with Shameless , Weeds , Dexter , and The Borgias right here at MrSkin.com!

REVIEW: Don’t Go in the Woods — Unless You’re Up for Something Cheap, Cheerful and Seemingly Unfinished

If horror movies have taught us anything, it’s that you can lead teenagers to a big red sign that reads “DON’T GO IN THE WOODS,” but you can’t make them not go in the woods anyway. Actor Vincent D’Onofrio nods to this and other slasher clichés in Don’t Go in the Woods , his feature directing debut — that is, when he’s not nodding to clichés native to the musical and the old “star is born” storyline. All that nodding gives a new definition to the term “genre-friendly,” and if a film could get by on its cheap and cheerful vibe alone, this one certainly would. Unfortunately, outside of the proxy satisfaction it will give those who are dying to see the grim reaper let loose on the set of a very special episode of Glee , the pleasures of Don’t Go in the Woods can’t quite compensate for its straggly bits. Casting five unknown musicians to play the band at the center of the film was logical enough: Slasher actors are not known for their Juilliard pedigrees, so prioritizing their musical skill makes sense. The story has the band decamping into the woods to try and write that elusive hit record without the usual distractions (D’Onofrio’s pointed removal of one of them, the cell phone, seems to channel the modern horror director’s frustration with those little plot spoilers). And the songs they do come up with are tuneful in a strangled yet twinkly, Fleet Foxes kind of way. Musician and director Sam Bisbee (who took home a 2010 Oscar for The New Tenant , a short film he worked on with D’Onofrio) wrote all of the music, and the boys’ performances are high points, in part because if they’re singing it means no one on-screen is attempting to act. Well, no one but the psychotically focused group leader Nick (Matt Sbeglia). Nick has disproportionately big blue eyes and a hipster cloche of dark hair, and during his numbers he usually strays from the campfire to emote in private. Nick rides the rest of the guys — played by Casey Smith, Soomin Lee, Nick Thorpe and Jorgen Jorgensen — like they’re pack mules, and at least one reason why they might put up with it emerges. Their camping spot is the same one Nick used to visit with a now-deceased brother (actually, it was shot on D’Onofrio’s Woodstock, N.Y., property), though presumably the forest’s resident Sledgehammer Guy was not a problem back in those less gruesome times. Did I mention Sledgehammer Guy? Oh, he’s around. He just makes noises that everyone shrugs off for a while, but when the band’s groupie crew shows up to join the party (and make Nick popping mad, naturally), Sledgehammer Guy gets cracking. The kill sequences are quick and not very scary — more like pulling weeds than serial murder — and though some of the ladies get to warble out a few evocatively shot bars before they’re beaned to death, most of the jam sessions are directed like stand-alone videos. A story about the clash of creative and destructive drives set in the wilderness and starring a bunch of scruffy but ambitious kids has big themes and genre toys to play with. Though obviously aware of the potential and prepared to really go for it, D’Onofrio came up with something that feels unfinished — an interesting harmony that needs a better bridge. ‘Hunger Games’: Top 10 Moments Of 2011

In this week’s Hobnobbing, we reflect on the movie’s milestones from the past year. By Amy Wilkinson Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Murray Close If any film caught Internet fire this year, it was most certainly the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ young-adult novel ” The Hunger Games .” Though the film had been optioned by Lionsgate way back in 2009, 2011 was the year fans finally saw all the pieces come together, from casting the titular tournament’s 24 tributes to a teaser tidbit and full-length trailer. As such, MTV News is taking a look back at all things “Hunger Games” with a list of the franchise’s best moments from 2011 (in chronological order). Let the Games begin! X Marks the Release Date The year began with a bang when Lionsgate announced in late January that “The Hunger Games” would swoop into theaters March 23, 2012 . Lionsgate set that particular date in its crosshairs hoping to capitalize on spring breaks and Easter weekend for the (mostly) family-friendly release. Jennifer Lawrence Is Katniss Everdeen The Reaping then began in earnest, with seemingly every young Hollywood actress vying for the coveted role of District 12’s female tribute. Would it be Hailee Steinfeld? Kaya Scodelario? Abigail Breslin? In the end, MTV News had the pleasure of revealing that then-20-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, who nabbed an Oscar nomination for her work in 2010’s “Winter’s Bone,” would enter the arena as the much-loved heroine. But Who Will Play Peeta and Gale? Similar speculation followed the casting of Katniss’ two love interests — fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark and hunting buddy Gale Hawthorne. Nine young actors were reportedly in contention for one of the two roles, including “Weeds” star Hunter Parrish and “Wizards of Waverly Place” actor David Henrie, but, ultimately, Josh Hutcherson landed the role of Peeta while Liam Hemsworth won Gale. First Look at Lawrence as Katniss Salivating fans didn’t have to wait too long for their first taste of Lawrence as Katniss, as she posed for the cover of Entertainment Weekly, flaunting the tribute’s soon-to-be-iconic uniform . The styled snap quieted many critics who’d said the actress was too blond, too tall, too pretty or too whatever for the role. Cinna Will Rock There were no shortage of casting announcements in spring 2011, but none seemed to catch watchful fans off guard more than that of Lenny Kravitz landing the role of Katniss’ stylist Cinna. But, really, it made a lot of sense, considering the musician’s fondness for fashion. “I like clothes, and I like playing with clothes. Every now and again, you go south. It’s all good. I enjoy fashion as an art,” he told MTV News . The Mockingjay Catches Fire In a nifty bit of promotion, Lionsgate released the first “Hunger Games” poster in July, and it was literally on fire. Well, sorta. The one-sheet depicted Katniss’ infamous talisman — a mockingjay pin — wreathed in glowing flames. The eye-catching motion poster definitely gave fans something to chew on while they waited for more first looks. We Spy Two “Hunger Games” Hotties Following in co-star Lawrence’s footsteps, the men of “The Hunger Games” landed their own EW cover story , in which Hutcherson took the opportunity to quiet a few nagging concerns about his stature.”Jennifer’s not 2 feet taller than me!” he told the magazine. “If anything, maybe she’s a half-inch taller.” November 2013 Is “Catching Fire” We hadn’t even seen a frame of the first film yet, yet Lionsgate announced a November 22, 2013, release date for the follow-up, “Catching Fire.” With “The Twilight Saga” taking its final winter bow in 2012, it looks like “The Hunger Games” is poised to be the new holiday tentpole. A Tasty Tease All those cover images and promotional stills went only so far to sate fans’ appetites. A cinematic preview was in order, and we at MTV were happy to deliver. During the closing moments of this year’s Video Music Awards, viewers were treated to a 30-second sneak peek , following Katniss as she sprinted through the arena’s blazing forest, with Gale’s words of encouragement resounding in her ears. Sure, the bite was short, but it was still satisfying. First Full-Length Trailer Nearly three lean months followed before the first full-length trailer made its entrance into the arena. And boy, was it worth the wait. From the tearful reaping to the Games’ taut opening moments, the clip was one of our top teases of the year , offering a promise of the big-screen awesomeness to follow.
