Earlier this week, outrage erupted over news that Kim Davis, a clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky, was refusing to grant same-sex marriage licenses on the grounds that doing so would conflict with her religious beliefs as an Apostolic Christian. Today, a federal judge ruled that Davis is in contempt of court and ordered that she be locked up. Judge David Bunning stated that Davis is bound by an oath of office to carry out the duties of her position, and refusing to do so puts her in violation of the law. Interestingly, Davis was elected to her post as a Democrat last November, and she's been married four times herself. Needless to say, many in Rowan County were surprised to learn that she holds such conservative views on the issue of marriage equality. Davis will reportedly be held in custody until she complies with the court's order to grant licenses to all couples wishing to be married in Rowan County.

Katerina Netolicka, a Czech model who has appeared as a cover girl for Prada and L’Oreal, among other high profile brands, has been found dead. She was 26. Her two dogs were also found dead along with her in the model’s apartment in the Czech Republic. She was discovered by her brother, reports indicate. Katerina Netolicka shared the apartment with ice hockey player boyfriend of five years Jakub Petruzalek, 29, who was out of the country at the time. The model’s body was discovered after she failed to answer her brother’s calls and he became increasing worried. He decided to go over in person. After going to the apartment and failing to get an answer when he knocked, he broke the door down and found the model and her two pets also dead. The model, who began her career ten years ago, was a woman of many talents and also known for winning this year’s Czech Championships in kickboxing. She was also prone to depression and had a history of self-harm, however. A fellow model who lived with her in New York seven years ago said of Katerina: “Sometimes she acted like two totally different people lived inside her.” 23 Shocking Celebrity Deaths 1. These days, the television landscape is populated by so many quirky families engaging in wacky, “unscripted” behavior than when we look back on a show like The Osbournes, it’s hard to understand why it was such a cultural phenomenon. But while the MTV series that focused on Ozzy and his then unknown wife and children certainly wasn’t the first reality show, it was the first to encourage us to root for hot-tempered, entitled egomaniacs who we’d probably hate in real life. Matthew Gibson, a 55-year-old North Carolina man, finally came clean about a 1997 murder he committed after receiving some texts from Walmart. Say what now? Gibson, 55, showed up in Arizona’s Winslow Police Department, where Det. Alicia Marquez discovered him “sitting in the lobby, scared and sobbing.” “He wanted to talk about crime he committed more than a decade before,” Martinez said, and he recalled meeting a woman one night in Bullhead City, Ariz. They went back to his trailer, where she became “loud and obnoxious” and he asked her to leave. When she refused, Gibson “bludgeoned her to death.” Using a Maglite flashlight, he killed her just like that, then threw her body into the Colorado River, where he buried his secret, seemingly for good. Until Walmart texted. And called. And even sent a hard copy of a letter saying that a prescription for Anita Townshed was ready for pickup, anytime. The actual woman he killed was Barbara Brown Agnew, but Gibson didn’t know that, and was convinced that Townshed was his old victim. He thought someone was monitoring his phone calls and had placed “a contract on his head,” so he hurried up and confessed out of guilt and fear. Gibson, a former drug addict, found religion years ago, his attorney said. “He felt bad,” Ron Gilleo said of his confession. “It was weighing on him.” As for whether this sort of confession is unprecedented? “We see a lot in this line of work,” Marquez told the Charlotte Observer. “He was in fear for his life.” That being said, the case wasn’t just cold, it didn’t exist. Until he confessed, and asked that he be allowed to plead guilty to manslaughter immediately. A Chris Brown performance last night ended in someone getting stabbed, and if we ask for a show of hands asking who’s surprised … we don’t expect to see a lot of hands. Law enforcement sources say it’s yet another case of trouble following the R&B singer and his entourage, and that police have been trying to stop this (to no avail). The stabbing took place right after Brown finished his set at a YMCMB Drake-Lil Wayne after-party at Supperclub in Hollywood, according to witnesses and reports. Several people leaving got into a fight and someone got stabbed. The victim, whose identity is not known, was taken to a hospital and is expected to be okay. Not unlike when Suge Knight was shot in last month’s possible pre-VMA assassination attempt on Chris Brown , no arrests were made, for a simple reason: No one is coming forward to point any fingers or spill the beans. It’s an exciting day for fans or eerie crime drama and boozy, philosophical bromances. After months of rumors we’ve finally learned that the second season of HBO’s acclaimed cop anthology True Detective will star Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in two of the lead roles. If it feels as though time is a flat circle and you’ve heard all this before, well you may have: Farrell was cast way back in June, but kept the role under his hat until yesterday. Naturally, rumors abounded on the web, regardless. Similarly, we reported in August Vaughn would star in season 2 , but motor-mouth Vince had been uncharacteristically tight-lipped prior to confirming the news today. According to the the network’s description of the new season, Farrell and Vaughn won’t be partnered up on an investigation a la McConaughey and Harrelson, but will instead play a veteran cop and a career criminal, respectively. Also, unlike the first season, the second iteration of TD will reportedly be more of an ensemble drama will one of the lead investigator roles being played by a woman. Sadly, it looks as though the second season will not include any of the hilarious casting combos in the gallery below, nor any Alexandra Daddario nude scenes . Worse, the series is tentatively scheduled for summer of 2015. Fortunately, you can watch True Detective online at TV Fanatic to hold you over until then.
