However, speaking last week at the launch of the new McLaren race car, Lewis said he was ready to have more of a stable personal life following a turbulent 2011. “My personal life has always been a part of my life that’s been really positive. But last year I didn’t think anything was positive,” he said. “I was all over the place. There were times when I was juggling too many things. There were too many questions unanswered, things hanging over me I hadn’t clarified or fixed or figured out. USA Today is reporting that “X Factor” winner Melanie Amaro has signed a deal with L.A. Reid’s Epic Records. Melanie won $5 million, the largest prize in television history, and is set to star in an iconic Pepsi commercial. L.A. said in a statement: “I joined The X Factor to be able to discover undeniable talent such as Melanie. I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom.” Simon Cowell added: “We all agreed that Epic would be the right fit for Melanie. L.A. made it clear that he wanted the opportunity to work with her and with his track record, you can’t say no to that.” “I am so excited to start recording my debut album for Epic under the guidance of L.A. It’s been a long run for the “X-Factor USA” contestants and it all came to an end last night on the season finale. After a long couple months of tears, dance moves and Astro’s antics, this star studded finale showed us who was America’s next breakout star, and that star is 19 year old Melanie Amaro. Melanie faced off in the with Josh Krajcik after Chris Rene was given the third place spot. After a long pause of waiting, surprise performances from Justin Beiber, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, 50 Cent and many more, plus the suspense and task of tallying up votes, it was announced that Melanie was the winner of the competition, recipient of a $5 million recording contract, star in a new Pepsi commercial and undoubtedly America’s favorite. When Melanie received the news that she was the winner of the singing competition, she couldn’t help but to fall to her knees and thank God, while fighting back tears. I was so incredibly happy to see Melanie win, and felt that by her response that she was definitely the best woman for this job. To close out the show last night, Melanie performed Beyonce’s “Listen” for the audience one last time before taking her official reign as the “X-Factor’s first winner”. Congratulations to Melanie Amaro and we all can’t wait to see how you’re going to turn this music industry upside down! Melanie’s final words before exiting the stage: “Thank you so much!
