Couple Who Stole Asiana Flight Crash Luggage Get Jail Time Remember these two rascals??? Via NY Daily News: A married couple working for United Airlines have been given jail sentences of less than a year for stealing luggage from San Francisco International Airport during the chaos of last year’s Asiana Airlines crash. Surveillance footage shows Sean Sharif Crudup, 44, walking into an empty luggage office July 6, 2013, as emergency crews and staff were distracted by the wrecked aircraft that killed three. He steals a piece of unattended luggage and hands it over to his wife, Raychas Elizabeth Thomas, 32, the video shows. The pair – both customer service representatives with the airline – escaped the airport with the stolen goods and later tried to sell the clothing back to the Nordstrom department store where the victims had recently bought the items. The victims didn’t immediately realize their luggage was missing. The couple pleaded no contest to charges of grand theft and possessing stolen property and were sentenced to jail — nine months for Crudup and six months for Thomas. They both also received three years of probation and were ordered to pay about $6,000 in restitution to Nordstrom, reported the Los Angeles Times. The husband and wife were arrested July 25 at the airport before they could board a flight to Hawaii to celebrate their birthdays. US Airways Issues Apology After Posting EXTREMELY Graphic Twitpic Earlier today, US Airways nearly broke the internet after a shockingly graphic photo of woman with a toy airplane shoved into her lady-party was sent out from their Twitter account. The photo was apparently attached to a tweet sent from the airline’s Twitter account in response to a customer who sent them a tweet complaining about a delayed flight. As it was nearly an hour before the photo was removed, it has since made its’ way around cyberspace, which promoted the airline to issue this public statement: No word yet on who sent the pic out or who the woman is in the photo, but let’s just say it definitely puts a new twist on the term “mile-high club.” You can check out the EXTREMELY NSFW photo HERE .

Jackson Says He Was Not Drunk During Flight US Airways needs to chill with trying to make Brandon the villain…they’re going to fawk up and walk right into a lawsuit. According to TMZ: Brandon T. Jackson says 13 people on his US Airways flight will back up his story that a flight attendant hurled the “N” word at him and made another racial comment. Brandon’s rep tells TMZ … the incident Monday did not go down the way the airline claims. The rep says he was NOT drunk, NOT loud, and NOT disruptive. Here’s the way Brandon says it went … He was running lines for a script he had with some random passenger who was sitting next to him. The flight attendant then accused them of being too loud, but Brandon says the noisy ones were actually in the row in front of them. So the “Tropic Thunder” star claims he then went to the back of the plane for sandwiches, and the flight attendant confronted him, told him she didn’t care if he was Obama’s son and he needed to sit down. He also says she hurled an epithet, “seemingly in jest.” He claimed earlier she used the “N” word. Brandon says the flight attendant beat him to the punch and complained to the pilot and when they landed he was questioned by authorities, who determined he was NOT intoxicated as the airline claimed. Brandon says he has 13 passengers who waited around to back up his story. The airline tells us they stand by their story … Brandon was being a disorderly, drunken douchebag. White Man Who Slapped Black Baby In The Face To Plead Guilty Some form of justice may finally be served sooner than later in the case of a white man who slapped a black 1-year-old child in the face during a flight earlier this year. via NY Post A man accused of slapping a crying toddler on a plane will plead guilty, federal prosecutors said Wednesday. An email from federal prosecutors did not say what charge Joe Rickey Hundley will plead guilty to during an afternoon hearing. He faces a misdemeanor simple assault charge in the February incident. Hundley used a racial slur to refer to the 19-month-old boy and then hit him under the right eye as the flight from Minneapolis began its descent to the Atlanta airport, authorities have said. At the beginning of the flight, Hundley pressed the call button and asked a flight attendant about the airline’s policy regarding “lap children,” prosecutors said in a filing. The way he asked the question made it clear he was unhappy about the child’s presence, prosecutors wrote. As the plane descended into Atlanta, the child started crying. Hundley leaned over to Bennett and “told her to shut that (N-word) baby up,” according to a sworn statement from an FBI agent who investigated the incident. Hundley then slapped the child in the face, leaving a scratch below his right eye, the FBI agent’s statement says. “He reeked of alcohol,” Jessica Bennett [the child’s mother] told KARE-TV in mid-February. “He was belligerent, and I was uncomfortable.” His trial had been set to begin Thursday in federal court in Atlanta. Sounds like this scumbag will definitely have his day in court.

Report Shows Airlines Made $27 Billion In Customer Fees In 2012 Ever wonder just how much money the airline industry is banking from robbing customers with sky-high baggage, food, booking and other fees? Bet you would have never guessed that the total was $27 billion…. via NBC News From paying for checked luggage and early boarding to extra legroom and on-board snacks, travelers know flying these days means never closing your wallet. Now, there’s more proof. Carriers around the world collected more than $27 billion last year in fees and other non-fare revenue, which has become “a crucial component of airline income,” a new report finds. The figure represents a 20 percent jump over 2011. “Every year, key numbers are getting larger. The most aggressive airlines easily generate more than 20 percent of their revenue from a la carte fees,” according to the report by IdeaWorks. The study was sponsored by CarTrawler, an Irish company that provides online car rental distribution systems. “Once largely limited to low fare airlines, ancillary revenue has now become a financial necessity for airlines all over the globe.” United Airlines was tops among carriers in the total amount of non-fare revenue collected last year, followed by Delta, American and Southwest, the study found. Ultra-low cost carrier Spirit Airlines collected the most as a percentage of its total income, with fees and other extras making up 38.5 percent of its revenue pie. The report analyzed financial information from 53 airlines that disclose their ancillary revenue, which includes the much-hated fees for services such as checked bags, priority check-in and assigned seats. “This is $27 billion of deception,” said Charlie Leocha, director of the Consumer Travel Alliance, adding all those extra charges are making it harder for fliers to know and compare the true cost of tickets at the time of booking. The decision to allow the supermodel to return comes despite her accusing BA staff of racism, and assaulting police officers as they hauled her from the aircraft. The Mail on Sunday understands that some BA workers are upset by the decision to allow her on flights – including a First Class flight to Milan on May 3 this year. Staff are said to feel the ban should have been maintained, and accused bosses of giving the model ‘special treatment’ because of her wealth and fame. Ms Campbell, 43, boarded the Milan flight at Heathrow Airport in London accompanied by the airline’s special services staff who give VIP treatment to First Class fliers. An insider said: ‘Naomi upset a lot of staff, so to have her back on BA flights feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth. ‘The company should be taking a hard line against people who are abusive or aggressive – whether they are rich and famous or not.’ Ms Campbell was banned after a row over her luggage at Heathrow Airport in 2008. The Transportation Security Administration don’t play that Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Involved In TSA Security Investigation According to TMZ reports : Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are at the center of a TSA investigation following a major security violation at JFK yesterday … but the TSA tells TMZ Kimye is NOT to blame. We’ve learned … K&K had taken a flight from Brazil to JFK on Tuesday, where the plan was to catch a connecting flight to Los Angeles. But once they landed in NY, the couple met up with an airline greeter … who, according to the TSA, allowed them to bypass a key security checkpoint to get them to their next flight as quickly as possible. After Kim and Kanye took their seats on the L.A.-bound plane … a TSA agent yanked them off the flight … and made K&K go through another layer of security. We’re told the plane was delayed for roughly an hour while the couple was screened by TSA agents. TSA claims that KimYe was not at fault for the security breach. “An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” “In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to by-pass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway.” “The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident.” The couple ultimately touched down in L.A. … where they were greeted by a gaggle of paparazzi … but seemed incredibly calm considering all they had been through.
