Consider yourselves warned, loyal THG readers: The following clip really stinks. It features meteorologist Patrick Ellis of Mississippi’s WLBT, who is just going about his business of reporting on the weather when the child of a legal expert (who made an earlier appearance on the broadcast) wanders into the frame. How cute, right? How precious and adorable, no? No. Not exactly. Not after what the child proceeds to do and say. Live on the air during the 6 o'clock forecast on Saturday, March 4, the very young man shrikes in excitement before letting a very loud fart rip from his buttocks. “We’ve got a little bit of, uh, interesting things going on right now,” Ellis says, trying to keep his cool as the kid moves closer to cut the cheese. Smiling and yet remaining professional, Ellis invites the child to help him with the forecast. “Yeah, there are farts everywhere and toots,” he says. “It’s crazy.” It sure is! The child's father then swoops in to remove his smelly son from the area. It's pretty amazing all around… and it isn't the first time we've reported on an unusual weather report interruption . If you’re a card-carrying member of Duggar Nation, you know that Joy-Anna just got engaged to Austin Forsyth after a whirlwind courtship. And we mean whirlwind. Even by Duggar standards, Joy-Anna and Austin are moving this courtship thing along at a breakneck pace. Those who watch Counting On online were introduced by the 19-year-old Joy-Anna to boyfriend “Austin” on the season finale last fall. Incredibly, as more information about the Forsyth family comes to light, it appears that they may be even more strict than the Duggars. His family runs the Fort Rock Family Camp in Arkansas, and has been acquainted with the Duggars and their church for many years. (This appears to be a familiar pattern; As with Joseph Duggar courting Kendra Caldwell , her family attends the family’s church as well.) “We are extremely happy to announce the courtship of our son, Austin,” parents Terry and Roxanne wrote on their Christian retreat’s page. “He and Joy have honored the Lord and will be a great testimony for his goodness and provision for a spouse. Congratulations to Austin & Joy!” After almost 15 years of friendship, it appears that Joy-Anna Duggar has already become a part of Austin’s family, or close to it. A quick look at the retreat’s site shows Joy-Anna posing next to Austin, now believed to be 22, and his family in a “camp staff” photo. Joy’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, are well aware of this, of course; They frequent the Forsyth’s family camp in St. Paul, Arkansas. The Duggars last visited in October, speaking at the 5th annual fall marriage retreat (yes, Jim Bob and Michelle offer marriage advice ). “We’re so thankful for Austin,” Michelle gushed of her daughter’s new beau last fall. “He is a great guy and we’re excited about the future.” Not only are the Forsyths’ members of the Duggars’ inner circle, they’re not new to the whole reality TV scene themselves. It’s this fact that has some fans worried about Joy-Anna. In 2009, when he was 15, he starred alongside his parents and sister Meagan on Season 1 of CMT’s World’s Strictest Parents . No, we did not invent the existence of that show, as much as you might think so. It was actually a thing and they were on it. The series, which was what it sounds like, united troubled teens with strict parents in hopes of helping them turn over a new leaf. Whether it achieved that goal or not, it certainly gave viewers some insight into Austin’s family and their extremely rigid belief system. The Forsyths place a heavy emphasis on modesty, homeschooling and staying “pure” until marriage, which likely sounds pretty familiar. Not unlike the Duggars, that includes saving your first kiss for your wedding day (suffice it to say, premarital sex is out of the question ). In one particular scene, it was revealed to viewers that during a Sunday school lesson, the Forsyth’s guests were taught about dating. Specifically, the dangers of dating, which “leads to divorce.” To our knowledge, the Duggars have never used wording that strong. However, we all know how seriously regimented they are, and how courtship has been called “dating with a purpose” or a pre-engagement. In any event, it’s no wonder that we’ve heard talk of Joy-Anna’s courtship rules being the strictest ever enforced by the famous family. Critics will likely talk about how unhealthy this all is. Maybe they’re right, or maybe it’s exactly what these two young people want and love. All we can tell you is that they look happy as a pair of human beings can be, and that by all accounts that matter, it’s a match made in … … somewhere in Northwest Arkansas, nestled among the Ozarks. At least if you can describe a pair of repressed, sheltered, virginal 20-somethings running around in layer upon layer of denim as heaven. If anyone can, it would be Joy-Anna and Austin, and we are so excited for them as long as they’re happy in taking this next big step. Ditto Joseph and Kendra, whose romance was announced today. We just hope that they’re doing it for the right reasons, and chart their own course in life, rather than living wholly in their families’ shadows. The Duggars are officially set to welcome yet another family member. Which of these reality stars is pregnant now , you may be wondering? No one, at least not as of this writing. But Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to Austin Forsyth , with the 19-year old daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle confirming the exciting news herself just a few days ago. “We just got engaged!” Joy-Anna told Us Weekly in early March. “I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend.” The two have known each other for 15 years, but only just started courting in mid-November. “I'm so excited to be engaged because that means the next step is marriage,” Joy-Anna added, explaining the engagement concept for those unaware of how it works and adding: “I’m excited to see what the future holds for us!” And Joy-Anna isn't the only Duggar who feels this way. Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald recorded a sweet video last night to congratulate Jim Bob and Michelle's fifth-oldest daughter on her new relationship status. “Hey, Joy and Austin, congratulations,” Ben says in the clip, which features him holding 16-month old son Spurgeon and Jessa cradling one-month hold son Henry. Jessa then directs her attention to Joy-Anna and Austin, who are even holding hands now , and chimes in as follows: “We’re super excited for y’all getting engaged, and we are looking forward to the big day – your wedding day. The little boys say congratulations too.” Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard had previously sent well wishes to the engaged couple via their own TLC-produced video. “Hey Joy and Austin, congratulations. We just heard the good news on the engagement,” Derick says in that piece of footage. “Yeah, we’re so excited for you all!” Jill adds. There are word combinations you never expect to type, and then there’s “Lena Dunham Debuts Boob Tattoo Inspired By Rihanna.” You might be tempted to decry such a headline as that “fake news” you keep hearing about: A bald-faced attempt to highlight the more ridiculous aspects of Millennial culture in an effort to work the #MAGA crowd into a greater fury than anti-incest laws and every second of this year’s Oscars combined. But we assure you, this is no alt-right Pepe-ganda (though we are in the process of developing tastes for Tolstoy and straight Stoli in order to make nice with our future overlords), and the self-proclaimed Voice of Her Generation really did copy RiRi’s underboob ink . Lena posted the pic above today, along with a caption that reads: “Thank you @trinegrimm for my warrior’s chest plate/tit chandelier. This is my first original piece by a female tattoo artist and it felt sacred and cool and she didn’t chide me for copying @badgalriri’s placement. “If you’re ever in Oslo, go meet this metal queen and let her handle your body.” Look, we’re gonna go ahead and play Dunham’s advocate here. For starters, we’re willing to giver her a pass on a lot of things this week, as “American Bitch” might have been Girls’ strongest episode to date, and it actually addressed a topical issue in a unique way. (It might have worked better as a standalone project, but that’s a discussion for another time.) On top of that – we’ve been there. We’ll admit to seeing a celebrity rock a certain look and (perhaps during a tipsy online shopping spree) deciding to give it a shot ourselves. There was a time when Johnny Depp was cool enough to make male fashion scarves cool, and like other tragedies throughout history, we shouldn’t bury it simply because we can’t make sense of it. So Lena saw Rihanna rocking some boob-bunting and figured she’d try to pull it off, too. As long as she doesn’t start taking racy blunt smoke selfies and using the word “pon,” we can chalk this up to loving emulation and not Single White Female-esque imitation. Besides, if this is the worst thing Lena Dunham did this week, then it was really a hell of a week. It’s not like she publicly wished she had an abortion or attempted to convince the world that her cellulite is a global feminist issue . Lena is like Trump: If seven days go by and she doesn’t make us seriously doubt our mental health or wonder if we’re living in the Upside-Down like Barb, we kinda feel like we owe her a thank you letter. Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to be married! The fifth oldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle will be walking down the aisle with Austin Forsyth after a VERY short courtship, she confirms. “We just got engaged!” Joy-Anna, 19, announced. “I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend.” “Austin made it so romantic, it’s amazing.” Forsyth tells Us that he is looking forward to their engagement , their marriage and all the big relationship milestones that lie ahead. “I’m just overwhelmed with emotion,” he says. “I’m so excited to be engaged because that means the next step is marriage, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us!” The near future, apparently. We predicted earlier this week that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth were on the fast track, but this?! Duggar and family friend Forsyth, who have known each other for 15 years, announced on November 15 that they had started courting. Once Austin got the green light from Jim Bob , which you saw if you watch Counting On online , he was prepared to pop the question. The courtship question, that is. Not the marriage one, which he put off a solid couple of months (no word yet on where he proposed). If his previous romantic gestures are any indication, though … Austin chose a spot in a wooded area to ask Joy-Anna to enter into the courtship – a pre-engagement of sorts, in Duggar family parlance. “It’s a place that I’ve come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord,” he said at that time about the special location. “I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her.” Asking her dad if he could court Joy, Austin gushed: “Over the years, I’ve been watching, and I really admire her heart for the Lord and her character. She’s such a diligent worker.” “She gets all the younger siblings working. She’s a good delegator,” he said, awkwardly, when asked by Jim Bob why he’s into Joy. “And, of course, her beauty.” Of course . While reports of Austin and Joy having sex are most likely exaggerated, we’re also sure they’re past the side hug stage. Like Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo before them, there’s been talk of this duo breaking the courtship rules and racing to the altar from day one. So when’s the wedding? It’s unclear, but just days ago, Joy-Anna opened up to People magazine about the possibility of saying “I do” in the near future. “I’m not sure when the next step will come,” Joy said. “You would have to ask Austin what he’s thinking and my dad, but I’m excited to see what God has in store for us in the next year.” Clearly she had a handle on her romantic future. Once again, these Duggar folks move at a breakneck pace once they find someone, and perhaps that’s not altogether (or at all) surprising. Each seems to move faster and faster, either by coincidence or because the notion of long-term side hugs and chaperones is unmoving. As for the two new Duggar courtships we’ve been hearing whispers about – regarding the guys, for a change – still no word on those. Congrats to Joy-Anna!!
As you might have guessed from her upbeat music and bubbly personality, Taylor Swift is not one of those artists with a dark past and a closet full of skeletons. In fact, you couldn't make-up such an idyllic childhood: Taylor grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania (seriously). Her father was a successful banker, and her mother retired from mutual fund marketing in order to be a stay-at-home mom. Really, it's the kind of upbringing that could make you hate Taylor, if she weren't so darn lovable. Sure, there are those who have taken issue with the version of Taylor's past that's been presented to the press, claiming that all was not as perfect as the Swift family has claimed, but so far, no lies have been exposed. Frankly, we don't know what to believe. It seems almost impossible that any family could be this insanely happy, but looking at these pics from Taylor's childhood, it's difficult to imagine that she ever had a bad day: 1.
